The Splendid Seven

Greetings, Splendid Seven devotees, martial arts aficionados, and fighting video game fans. Antoni here with another written entry focusing on Sesshoumaru, Shuran, Inuyasha, Hakkaku, Ginta, Ayame, and Shunran specialising in the martial arts they do. Today, I will talk about the seven martial arts that Sesshoumaru, Shuran, Inuyasha, Hakkaku, Ginta, Ayame, and Shunran specialise in the most as well as what type of fighter best identifies each of them in terms of their personalities, martial arts, capabilities, and range as fighters.   I have been testing the proverbial waters of The Splendid Seven’s undeniable skills as martial artists as well as categorise which martial art perfectly captures them. In fact, I can never get enough of Sesshoumaru, Shuran, Inuyasha, Hakkaku, Ginta, Ayame, and Shunran joining together as a family of super strong and powerfully potent Yokai martial artists. It has been really fun researching on the various martial arts, although given some of my recent posts revolving around these seven Yokai martial artists, the choices could be better in terms of varying their skills. This is attributed to the various martial arts documentaries, YouTube videos, blog posts, let’s plays of fighting games specifically Street Fighter and Tekken, and reading about the various martial arts and even hybrid martial arts which I thought could perfectly and accurately fit each Splendid Seven member. From there, I have been enjoying the process of fitting each martial art to each Yokai combatant with a lot of glee.   It is true that strength comes in numbers, and these seven Yokai martial artists demonstrate that motto exceedingly well. Whether it is Sesshoumaru’s and Inuyasha’s complete program of strikes, grapples, and clinches; Shuran’s devastating submission holds and chokeholds, Hakkaku’s and Ginta’s excruciating headbutts, elbow strikes, shin kicks, and knee strikes; Ayame’s mighty punches, furious kicks, and dominating takedowns or Shunran’s flashy kicks and rapid strikes, spectators can always these seven to be in constant action, especially when they put their strengths together and emerge as the victors. Where their seven martial arts are concerned, I shall be, as usual, judging them by their overall lethalness. However, since this is Sesshoumaru, Shuran, Inuyasha, Hakkaku, Ginta, Ayame, and Shunran we are talking about, what they can accomplish would be considered as lethal to the ill-prepared body.   With that said, let us get in gear, arm ourselves with courage and strength for some memorable bouts, and step in that arena for a bloody good time, especially if the main attraction is seeing Sesshoumaru, Shuran, Inuyasha, Hakkaku, Ginta, Ayame, and Shunran whoop some opponent butt. Hajime!   Sesshoumaru: A Mightily Honourable Vanquisher Steeped in Tradition All the world’s strength, power, speed, deadliness, accuracy, timing, and balance are meaningless without tradition, discipline, honour, brotherhood, and respect. That has always been Sesshoumaru’s motto ever since he was a little child, considering that he, his father, his mother, and his younger brother Inuyasha have been making the martial arts their way of life. Through Sesshoumaru’s mastery of punching, blocking, kicking, striking, grappling, joint locks, and takedowns, he has been eager to learn different skills and to keep on growing as a martial artist while never besmirching his family, his code of honour, and his warrior ethics. Shotokan Karate Brazilian Jujitsu Judo Taekwondo Kudo American Kenpo Karate Shaolin Kenpo Karate   Shuran: A Frighteningly Powerful Executioner Steeped in Fortitude Brute strength, an intimidating presence, and heaps of aggression are the hallmarks that define Shuran as not only one of the strongest wrestlers in Japan but also the world. No opponents are too huge, too strong or too powerful to make him submit. No colosseum is too legendary to contain this powerful beast of a hulking panther Yokai grappler. Not even Vince McMahon and all of WWE would be so brazen to mess with Shuran because he can pulverise his opponents to pieces with his piledrivers, bearhugs, Boston Crabs, and camel clutches. Just like his older brother Sesshoumaru, he has also been thoroughly ingrained in the martial arts ever since he was a child, as it runs in the family. Therefore, Inuyasha trains, fights, stands tall, and roars like a veritable champion should, and he does so with raw muscular power and bravado. Pankration Mixed Martial Arts Kapu Kuialua Shootfighting Bokator Kyokushin Karate Zendokai   Hakkaku: A Potently Radioactive Skirmisher Steeped in Stamina Combat moves as quick as lightning, limbs as strong as steel, and strikes as hard as stones best describe Hakkaku of what he is capable of as a fighter and as a person. Whenever he steps into the arena, spectators know fully well that Hakkaku is more than capable of delivering violently bone-crushing knee strikes, shin kicks, headbutts, elbow strikes, punches, kicks, and clinches. Opponents better prepare themselves when Hakkaku comes with the clinch, for he can release a grand repertory of strikes that will leave them bleeding profusely. Armed with loads of speed, strength, stamina, and stealth, Hakkaku never ever disappoints. Once Ginta enters the ring, he would have a great time with his opponents because, although he is meant to beat them into submission, his brilliant sportsmanship shines more brightly than the spotlights. Today, I will be delving into my seven favourite pairings in martial arts sparring forms. There will be five platonic pairings, two loved pairings, one OTP pairing, and one OT3 pairing.   It is often said that martial arts is not just a question about how the individual throws attacks ranging from strikes to submission holds but also how they can work together as a group mostly of two or three. Whether the relationships are platonic or romantic, whenever two or three warriors band together to deliver some serious blows and/or holds, opponents better defend themselves against their attacks. With that said, let us delve into my nine favourite Splendid Seven pairings in the forms of martial arts spars, in which there are five platonic pairings consisting of three BroTPs and two BroT3s, two romantic pairings I love, one OTP pairing I hold with the highest regard, and one OT3 Pairing I also hold with the highest regard. Osu! Hajime!   Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha (BroTP): Complete Martial Artist Brothers With a formidably extensive background in Jujitsu, Judo, Karate, Kenpo, Taekwondo, Wrestling, and Boxing, Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha are considered martial arts expert brothers par excellence. This is due to their father, Toga, and their mother, InuKimi, portraying such integral roles in their lives growing up as martial artists and as people. As The Splendid Seven’s most powerfully skilled fighters, every move these two dog Yokai brothers make in their repertory of punches, kicks, strikes, submission holds, takedowns, joint locks, and grapples is guaranteed to place their enemies in a near permanent state of paralysis. Regardless if they are Inuyasha’s double axe handles, Hakkaku’s headbutts or Ginta’s elbow strikes or the vast repertoire of punches, kicks, strikes, takedowns, clinches, grapples, and holds they have in their arsenal, there will be copious amounts of blood that will be spilt thanks to how effectively Inuyasha, Hakkaku, and Ginta use their hands, feet, and bodies as lethal weapons. Luring their opponents into their trap is a walk in the park for Ayame and Shunran should they dare underestimate these fiery auburn-haired sisters, and their punishment is swift as lightning. Fortunately, Sesshoumaru and Ayame embody those principles and more thanks to the strong bond they have together. Today, I will be focusing on my top five Splendid Seven romantic pairings in the forms of the mainly primary martial arts sparring matches they specialise in. As always, there are three OTPs and two loved pairings serving as my most favourite Splendid Seven romantic pairings.   Romantic and intimate love is a truly many-splendored thing, especially when trust, allegiance, respect, and synergy play integral roles in a rich relationship. Nevertheless, when two or more people are brought together in the heat of battle, they could pull all the stops when making their enemies suffer humiliating defeats at their hands. After that, if they really want it, they could consummate their feelings after battle as a means to unwind from all of the brutality. The catch for these romantic pairings in combat sparring forms is that each of them shall be guaranteed to be lethal and ferocious, but knowing the likes of Sesshoumaru, Shuran, Inuyasha, Hakkaku, Ginta, Ayame, and Shunran, they are guaranteed to be the deadliest practitioners of their respective martial arts and bring a world of pain and destruction towards their oppressors and foes. With that said, let the romantic rumblings begin. Osu! Hajime!   Inuyasha x Ayame (OTP): Kapu Kuialua vs Koppojutsu Let every bone break and crumble to dust, let all that bitter crimson blood flow from the victims, and let every vicious blow have the peals of a resounding death knell, for Inuyasha and Ayame are prepared to deliver every devastating blow and grapple they can muster. Combining Inuyasha’s muscular strength and Ayame’s vicious aggression means that their repertoire of punches, kicks, strikes, submission holds, and takedowns are guaranteed to be painfully and punishingly paralysing. Coupled with their bloodiness in battle is close physical and sexual intimacy with each other, as they make spicy love to each other after every battle.   Hakkaku x Shunran (OTP): Muay Boran vs Savate On the outside, Hakkaku and Shunran are bubbly, fun, and vivacious souls who love competition and pushing themselves to higher limits. On the inside, they are not afraid to let their fierceness show, especially when faced with more formidable enemies. Their punches, kicks, and strikes deign to cause as much collateral damage as possible, especially when combining Hakkaku’s strength and speed with Shunran’s agility and precision. These two traits are, therefore, united in tact, timing, and tenacity. Whenever Shuran incorporates his grappling and ground and pound attacks and Shunran utilises her tactics combined with her quick kicks and strikes, they create a force that no enemy can ever defeat even if they tried. There will be three pairings I consider my most beloved OTPs of all time, two pairings I consider to be my most loved pairings, and all of them are heterosexual pairings.   It is said that romantic love means two people must delegate the work in a fair manner in order to overcome any and every obstacle that comes along their way. Therefore, it not only takes two to do the tango of destruction but also working together in order to ensure each others’ safety and well-being. Since this is The Splendid Seven we are talking about, I am certain that my five most favourite pairings would never hesitate to let off some steam and let their opponents bleed profusely. Hajime!   Inuyasha x Ayame (OTP): Sinuously Sensual; Ferociously Formidable As a beautifully intimate couple, there is nothing that Inuyasha and Ayame could ever hide from each other whether in the bedroom or in the battlefield. They have cultivated a harmonious relationship based on trust, synergy, unconditional love, and compassion, thus making them build a truly united family based on those aforementioned principles. Inuyasha’s and Ayame’s abundantly unconditional love is also well-transferred to how they have perfected every punch, kick, strike, takedown, and submission hold to do as much damage to all of their foes as possible. Nobody can ever beat them down even if they tried. They truly trust each other with their lives, their souls, their hearts, and their overall beings and will never leave each other in the dust, thus creating an unconditionally loving bond based on good vibes, love, and allegiance. Every positive trait Hakkaku and Shunran have together is also used whenever they go into battle against various opponents, especially attributed to Hakkaku’s crushing clinches and Shunran’s stirring strikes coming into full, lively motion. They do their very best to better each other through patience and endurance and would never think about betraying each other let alone manipulate each other for selfish means. While Ginta and Shunran are sweetly cuddly towards each other, they would never wish to hold back on their attacks against every foe they come across. Should their foe tamper with their harmony, they would be at the mercy of Ginta’s and Shunran’s rich repertoire of deadly punches, kicks, and strikes. This is because both Sesshoumaru and Ayame live their lives with discipline, allegiance, respect, cooperation, confidence, relentlessness, and ambition. They truly care about ensuring that they do not sell themselves short on what they could truly accomplish both individually and together as well as genuinely appreciating each other for their valour and their courage. Shuran’s fierce protectiveness and Shunran’s ebullient jolliness is only second to their wonderful range of combo attacks. Should Shuran throw a piledriver on their foes, Shunran would gladly add salt to their injury by utilising her elbow strikes, punches, knee strikes, and, most of all, kicks. Aside from their fierce moves, Shuran and Shunran care for each other with allegiance, loyalty, and respect. They will be categorised as OTP, Loved Pairing, and Liked Pairing, and they will be strictly heterosexual.   It is often said that there is power in unconditional love, especially if there is varying degrees of intimacy. Whether romantic love is thoroughly intimate, based on mutual closeness or based on respect and allegiance, there is no doubt that the loving ties that bind can draw on fortitude, dedication, determination, drive, perseverance, wilfulness, and cooperation. Therefore, true love is unbreakable in contentious doubt and in triumphant joy.   Here are the rules for this entry. There will be only one martial arts sparring match per romantic pairing, and they will receive different ones for each pairing. I will judge each martial art based on lethalness, effectiveness, and overall impact. Knowing the likes of Sesshoumaru, Shuran, Inuyasha, Hakkaku, Ginta, Ayame, and Shunran, they would be the most lethal martial artists Japan and the world have ever encountered. Furthermore, each martial art would not be solely pigeonholed as a striking one, a grappling one or a clinching one, for the different elements of striking, clinching, and grappling are going to be combined. With that said, let us get ready to rumble in the most romantic and intimate way possible. Osu! Hajime!   Inuyasha x Ayame (OTP): Kapu Kuialua vs Hapkido Inuyasha and Ayame bear the complete package when it comes to defeating their opponents with their formidably versatile repertoire of punches, kicks, grapples, takedowns, clinches, strikes, and submission holds. Anybody with common sense should be aware of the damage this mighty couple can deliver because Inuyasha and Ayame hold nothing back and can make them bleed profusely. This is evidenced in how Inuyasha uses his background in Full-Contact Karate and Pankration to increase his capacity in Kapu Kuialua and how Ayame uses her experience in Kickboxing and Koppojutsu to make her skills in Hapkido even more lethal.   Hakkaku x Shunran (OTP): Muay Thai vs Ninjutsu Hakkaku and Shunran are exuberance, glee, and enthusiasm personified thanks to how they consistently propel their punches, strikes, clinches, and takedowns with panache and passion. The imperative hallmarks of their effective attacks boil down to quicksilver speed, abundant power, thorough balance, and accurate timing which places them at an advantage over their opponents. A barrage of clinches, elbow strikes, knee strikes, and shin kicks from Hakkaku combined with a flurry of joint locks, kicks, punches, and strikes from Shunran can signify indubitable sudden death to those brazen enough to oppose this lovingly optimistic couple.   Ginta x Shunran (OTP): Lethwei vs Shaolin Kung Fu Ginta and Shunran may appear lovable, sweet, and cuddly towards each other on the outside, but test their patience and leniency and they will rain a grand series of blows, strikes, and takedowns rich in quick speed, formidable strength, relentless stamina, and explosive reaction time. Greetings, Splendid Seven devotees, martial arts aficionados, and fighting video game fans. Antoni here with another written entry focusing on Sesshoumaru, Shuran, Inuyasha, Hakkaku, Ginta, Ayame, and Shunran specialising in the martial arts they do. Today, I will delve into my five most favourite main Splendid Seven platonic pairings in the forms of main martial arts sparring matches.   The rules for this entry are that I will choose one martial art sparring match for each platonic pairing. Furthermore, the catch is that the martial art style each character will be judged on lethalness, ferociousness, and the possibility of high impact when especially used in close-range attacks. Although I am far from being a martial arts expert, I did consult various sites as to which one could be deemed as the most lethally bloody and most effective that the likes of Sesshoumaru, Shuran, Inuyasha, Hakkaku, Ginta, Ayame, and Shunran would use. After all, these seven Yokai martial artists would be considered the deadliest combatants of their chosen martial arts should any super strong opponent dare challenge them. I also want to ensure that the martial arts sparring matches I have chosen for each of them do not just contain only striking or only grappling but a mixture of strikes, grapples, clinches, and holds, thus increasing the effectiveness of each martial arts sparring match. For instance, as much as I am tempted to have Sesshoumaru and Shuran spar in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu versus Sumo Wrestling, these two are basically grappling martial arts which would relatively trivialise the skills they have as combatants who are more than capable of just one attacking style. With that said, let’s get our punches, kicks, strikes, clinches, grapples, takedowns, and submission holds in gear, everybody. Osu! Hajime!   Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha: Ashihara Karate vs Kudo Karate, Judo, Jujutsu, Taekwondo, Pankration, Boxing, and Wrestling have formed the basis of Sesshoumaru’s and Inuyasha’s powerful brotherhood, thus establishing their ever-expanding martial arts repertoire plus being strong and versatile combatants. It has gotten to the point where they combined every punch, kick, grapple, takedown, strike, clinch, and submission hold they have learned and turned them into weapons of mass destruction. These two dog Yokai love a full-contact spar with each other and challenging themselves against mightier opponents because they grow in fortitude, fraternal love, and wisdom.   Sesshoumaru and Shuran: Mixed Martial Arts vs Vale Tudo With Sesshoumaru’s background in Karate, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Judo, and Taekwondo and Shuran’s background in Pro Wrestling, Combat Sambo, Sumo Wrestling, and Ssireum combined, they have become a formidable force to be reckoned with. This is especially evidenced in Sesshoumaru’s penchant for brutal takedowns and ground and pound attacks combined with Shuran’s unparalleled skill in chokeholds, submission holds, and groundwork. Teamwork, allegiance, and respect are the hallmarks of what further strengthen them as a duo who thrive on takedowns, grapples, and making their enemies surrender with ease.   Shuran, Hakkaku, and Ginta: Sambo vs Kajukenbo vs Pencak Silat Nobody could ask for a higher dose of versatility when Shuran’s wrestling skills, Hakkaku’s punches, kicks, and strikes, and Ginta’s offensive and defensive attacks come into play. All it takes is great teamwork and boundless cooperation to make every finishing blow they commit to all the more worthwhile against their foes. First, Ginta disarms the opponents by numbing them with quick strikes. Then, Shuran locks them with a bearhug and a Full Nelson for good measure. Finally, Hakkaku rains a series of paralysing blows on them. Their effective teamwork in defeating opponents is coupled with truth, synergy, and a positive attitude.   Inuyasha, Hakkaku, and Ginta: Kapu Kuialua vs Muay Thai vs Lethwei Words cannot begin to describe how bloody and vicious Inuyasha, Hakkaku, and Ginta are in close-range combat. These three mightily potent warriors have the punishing punches, terrifying takedowns, killer kicks, claustrophobic clinches, stunning strikes, lethal locks, and superb submission holds to defeat all of their opponents. To Inuyasha, Hakkaku, and Ginta, strength alone is never enough because endurance, dedication, and quick reflexes can propel every attack possible. Their sparring matches and battles against foes may result in painfully deadly bloodshed, but they always encourage each other to stay relentless and determined.   Ayame and Shunran: Hapkido vs Shaolin Kung Fu When Ayame’s punches, throws, grapples, and kicks mesh with Shunran’s punches, strikes, kicks, and acrobatics, this would result in a grand combination of power, speed, balance, and timing so formidable and accurate that foes can never stand a chance against these two auburn-haired sisters. Ayame’s main strengths may be in her punches, grapples, strikes, and kicks thanks to her expertise in Kickboxing, Boxing, and Hapkido, while Shunran’s are in her punches, kicks, strikes, and tricking thanks to her experience in Capoeira, Shaolin Kung Fu, and Savate, but they prove themselves to be abundant dedication and cooperation incarnate.   Whatever the main Splendid Seven platonic pairing in martial arts sparring form, each of them is filled to the brim with undeniable respect, tight allegiance, and synergetic flexibility that they would constantly better each other every single waking moment.
