Once upon another time, if I were still a young lad or a young teenager, I probably would have been a straight-up Color-Clash RuffPuff shipper, dropped the Color-Coded RuffPuff pairings, and found the Color-Crack RuffPuff pairings altogether. That is because, now as a 26 going on 27-year-old guy, I am able to fully open my mind to not only Brickercup’s brand of spicy intimacy but also Butchubbles’ brand of cuteness and Blossoomer’s brand of genuineness. Furthermore, I know some of you, dear viewers, will feel blasé when I say this but I will gladly reiterate. If I did not ship Blossom with Butch and Bubbles with Boomer, thus sealing Butch x Blossom or Blossutch and Boomer x Bubbles or Boomubbles as my ultimate endgame OTPs in the color-crack and color-coded RuffPuff pairing categories, I would have gladly settled with Butch x Bubbles or Butchubbles and Boomer x Blossom or Blossoomer as my OTPs for life, therefore hitting the jackpot with all of the color-clash RuffPuff pairings. I have some of my beloved sisters from another mother to thank so much from the deepest depths of my heart, mind, and soul for making me cherish and for inspiring me to be a loyal shipper of the color-clash RuffPuff couples so much and they are BrickercupMasterX3, xahCHUx, KatyGorl, and Citsitra-Blue among many others. I also promised some of you viewers that I was also going to talk about the basic headcanons I have in store for Butchubbles and Blossoomer with more detailed ones coming in the form of individual timelines for them from being childhood sweethearts to dating as teenagers to being married to having children. For the sake of this submission, I am keeping to my AU headcanon where Brick and Buttercup have not only been married for eight years with eight children, but Butch and Bubbles, as well as Boomer and Blossom, have also been officially married for eight years with eight children, which means KatyGorl’s and Misse-the-cat’s six Brickercup, six Butchubbles, and six Blossoomer children from her universe and the two Brickercup sons, the two Butchubbles sons, and the two Blossoomer sons I have added to make the number of Blossutch and Boomubbles children balanced in my headcanon. Since we already took at the basic headcanon I have for Brickercup in a previous submission, let us dig in to Butchubbles’ and Blossoomer’s sides of the story. Butch x Bubbles (Butchubbles) As of 2019, 27-year-old Butch and 25-year-old Bubbles have been married for eight years with eight fun-loving, adorable yet tough children. Butchubbles is, therefore, christened as The Beastly, Brawny Toughie and the Bouncy, Sweet Cutie couple because of the fact that Butch and Bubbles play off of each other as total opposites with Butch’s tough, rough nature meshing really well with Bubbles’ ingenue with an edge personality. Butch may be a tough, strong, wild fighter who has muscles of steel, an iron will, a resilient fighting spirit, and heaps of endurance, but he also a soft spot for animals, dark humor, and sculptures. He bears this cuddly, soft spot whenever he is with Bubbles and if anyone were to be so brazen to hurt, harass or humiliate Bubbles, Butch would unleash absolute Hell on the perpetrator and make that said perpetrator fall to his knees begging for mercy. When Butch is around Bubbles, he is akin to a very faithful pit bull who is fierce and bloodthirsty on the outside yet cuddly and sweet on the inside. He loves Bubbles for how forgiving, compassionate, emphatic, loving, and hilarious she is. He even loves how Bubbles goes into her hardcore mode when she is in battle, as that facet of her arouses him so much. Butchubbles and Blossoomer shippers, you know exactly who you are. So, let us get started. As a preface to each couple headcanon, all of these OTP ships from Brickercup to Blossutch to Boomubbles to Bunnitch to Robike have started out as childhood sweethearts in Kindergarten and have grown up to be the well-established couples they are as of this year of 2019. Let’s get cracking, folks, as I do my best to elaborate each pairing. Brick x Buttercup (Brickercup) As of 2019, 27-year-old Brick and 26-year-old Buttercup have been married with sixteen children and have been together for eight years. They are what I, and probably a lot of people who love to pair Brick with Buttercup and vice versa, would love to call The Hot and Spicy Couple. Brick is the type of guy who always loves it when girls can kick butt and be very strong and capable while having a feisty, rambunctious streak to them. To him, Buttercup is and will always be the one he would not only admire but be fascinated with because he fits his criteria of someone who can kick butt, take names, and look fine doing all of these without respite. She is not shrill like Princess Morbucks nor a huge know-it-all like Blossom. Buttercup is her own feisty, rambunctious, fun person and that is what makes her attractive, natural, and overall awesome in Brick’s eyes to the point of them clicking so fabulously together. Buttercup sees Brick as not just another handsome face with a well-toned, muscular body of an Olympian god and gorgeous long hair but she also finds him both book smart and street smart, tough, strong, brave, and exceptionally well-rounded. It also helps that he does have an edge, which fascinates her so much. He is not like Butch where he is completely rough and brutish, which is a relief to Buttercup, as Brick bears a whole lot of balance. Much like how Brick respects and admires Buttercup for her toughness and never-give-up attitude complete with a lot of spice, Buttercup admires how determined, smart, and inwardly and outwardly handsome he is as a person. In terms of them as a couple, they have a lot of things in common. Both Brick and Buttercup love heavy metal, death metal, rock and roll, mixed martial arts, Muay Thai, weightlifting, soccer, basketball, football, and track-and-field. They even love to give any criminal a huge knuckle sandwich and end their days with a lot of steamy lovemaking. Sometimes Brick does tease Buttercup for how defensive and stubborn she can be, as she is as much of a Tsundere to this day and there are times that Buttercup teases Brick in terms of his occasional machismo. Moreover, there are times that Brick would call out Buttercup on her stubbornness without being too patronizing and Buttercup would call out Brick for his occasionally huge ego. Nonetheless, there is never a boring moment between these two toughies, as their relationship would start off on the love-hate side but ends up as wonderfully exciting, spicy intimacy. Butch x Blossom (Blossutch) As of 2019, 27-year-old Butch and 26-year-old Blossom have been married with eight children, have been together for seven years, and Blossom even has eight children from her previous one-year marriage with Boomer. Now we come to the big PPG Shipping Meme and I wholeheartedly accepted this challenge because I thought this would be of great interest and enjoyment. So, let’s dig in! If you know me, I always love to start off with getting the negatives out of the way before I build up to the euphoric positives. However, given this meme, there are some characters I have marked as staying single for one reason or another. I know I should have marked other pairings down but I will give my explanations to suffice what I could have marked. So, before we get to the pairings I cannot stand nor touch with a ten-foot pole, let us attend to the characters I prefer to stay single. PPG Characters I Prefer to Stay Single Femme Fatale Knowing how unapproachable she is to men and that she is a straw feminist, she has no chance in ending up in a long-lasting relationship and probably for the best. Mask Scara Her eccentricity leaves a lot to be desired in a serious relationship. Men would easily feel intimidated by her emotional instability and no woman would ever want Mask Scara to be her life partner, even if she does have a questionable taste in fashion. Therefore, in my headcanon, Mask Scara has given up her whole gig of being a petty supervillainess in order to express her creativity in a healthy way by being an art teacher, thus inspiring young minds to step out of their creative comfort zone. The Talking Dog I cannot see this endearing hound being in any relationship. I see him as someone who has been enjoying his single life for 20 to 21 years and has managed to turn the Fluffy Bunch (Puppy Wuppy, Fluffy Kitty, and Cuddly Bunny) into upstanding creatures rather than the insufferable smegheads we had to witness in “Sweet ‘N Sour”. Ergo, in my headcanon, The Talking Dog functions as the Scrooge McDuck to the Fluffy Bunch’s Hewy, Dewey, and Louie. Roach Coach Why would anyone want to be with this slime-ball? Moving on! Mojo Jojo As entertaining Mojo Jojo is as a character and as much as I enjoy him so much as a villain, he is, at least in my opinion, a really crappy role model to the Rowdyruff Boys and he is not one to be in any form of relationship. Sorry, Mojo x Blossom, Mojo x Berserk, and Mojo x Moko shippers, but that is how I roll. He is that type of person who is more than content to spend his villainously hammy bachelor life for as long as he lives. Lenny Baxter After what he did to the Powerpuff Girls, would I ever want this creepazoid to be in any long-lasting relationship? I believe I answered my own question. He might as well just spend the rest of his natural life in solitary confinement, as far as I am concerned. HIM All right HIM x Bubbles (Hibbles), HIM x Brat (HimBrat), and HIM x Professor Utonium (HimProf) shippers do not get yourselves in a tizzy but please hear me out, as this is solely my opinion. I do not support HIM being with anyone, as I am pretty sure he will cause nothing more than grief and destruction, which he is really good at. Grubber, Big Billy, and Arturo Sure, I may have shipped Ace and Snake with Berserk and Brat respectively, but I do not really have an ideal partner for these guys and I am confident that they are more than willing to live out their lives as happy yet grubby bachelors. Fuzzy Lumpkins No doubt is this guy hilarious, but he can never keep up in any relationship given his hair-trigger temper and simpleton nature. Professor Dick Hardly He may be one of my most favorite villains and his appearance in “Knock It Off” is so darn memorable. However, it says something that even his fangirls should stay away from this exploitative douchebag of a person. This scumbag should really know his place in the deepest, darkest pits of Hell! The Amoeba Boys These guys cannot win at being supervillains even if they tried. How much more for getting dates? I think I answered my own question. The Boogie Man Finally, we have reached the home stretch with this monstrous gentleman. In terms of finding himself in a stable relationship based on faithfulness and duty, he is not that interested in that stuff. He is more of the type of funky debonair who could make love to anything that moves, thus having a string of flings, while enjoying his supernatural life as a literal party monster who loves fancy cars and to have a grand old time. My NOTPs Brick x Blossom (BlossSICK) I beg your pardon, Blossick shippers, but I think I make myself clear when I say, get this overrated, overhyped, over-loved, over-bloated RuffPuff pairing out of my face! At times, I would want to rip my guts out whenever I see anything Blossick related. I know some of you might feel tired of me preaching about my least to most favorite RRB x PPG pairings to the heavens, but I figured that this would be fun to expound some of my opinions on the other pairings. Moreover, just by seeing this list, you will realize that there is not one pairing I feel either indifferent to or dislike and I could not find any pairing that fits that category, seeing that I do have adamant sentiments when it comes to certain pairings. So, let’s get cracking by getting the negatives out of the way. The Pairings I absolutely abhor the most RRBcest (Brick x Butch aka Brickutch, Butch x Boomer aka Butchoomer, and Brick x Boomer aka Brickoomer) and PPGcest (Blossom x Buttercup aka Blossercup, Buttercup x Bubbles aka Butterubbles, and Blossom x Bubbles aka Blossubbles) On a general level, I cannot stand any pairing where either Brick, Butch, and Boomer or Blossom, Buttercup, and Bubbles end up as each others’ lovers, as it is just plain sick and wrong. I know I used to have Brick x Butch or Brickutch as my guilty pleasure pairing, but I suddenly outgrew this pairing, as I strongly decided to keep Brick and Butch as really best friends who stick out for each other through thick and thin and have wonderfully epic moments of bromance. Maybe if they were not brothers I would give this pairing a shot because of their strong chemistry and bond, but as it is, just keep them as bromantic besties and let us call it a day. Do not even get me started on either Butch x Boomer or Brick x Boomer as lovers because there would be no chemistry between Boomer and either of his brothers as lovers. In Butchoomer’s case, I would prefer it if Butch and Boomer were really competitive friends with benefits who love to test their strength and athletic prowess on each other and see who is the stronger brother of the two. In Brickoomer’s case, I would rather keep it as a similar case to Butch’s and Boomer’s competitive relationship, but with Brick being the one to show tough fraternal love to Boomer and be as competitive with him, thus having Boomer show Brick and Butch how much stronger he can be than them and get their respect in the process. All in all, I can definitely say that Brick’s and Butch’s relationship is akin to being really great friends, Butch’s and Boomer’s relationship is within the realms of really competitive friends who have moments of sibling rivalry but end up working together rather well, and Brick’s and Boomer’s relationship is competitive in a tough fraternal love kind of way. Therefore, Boomer can respect Brick and Butch for being the strong, tough brothers that they are and Brick and Butch can respect Boomer for proving to them that he can be as strong as a fighter than them. Now that we have talked about the gentlemen, how about the ladies? Blossom x Buttercup or Blossercup makes me go through a moment of projectile vomiting! I would rather keep these girls as really close yet really competitive frenemies who may get on each others’ nerves but still give a darn about each other because of how effectively they work together. Their relationship is really akin to Cyborg’s and Robin’s relationship from Teen Titans 2003, in which Robin’s and Blossom’s brand of being the straight person manages to complement Cyborg’s and Buttercup’s muscle rather well, thus making them an unstoppable force. Moreover, it says a lot when both Blossom and Buttercup are the very people who do enjoy testing their strength and combat prowess on each other. Buttercup x Bubbles or Butterubbles might as well be the classic case of friends with benefits considering how many scuffles these two have in the show. Bubbles, being the romantic that she is, would easily function as the matchmaker and be of high approval of Buttercup and Brick getting together an awesome couple. Blossom x Bubbles or Blossubbles might as well and should stick to the classic case of Blossom being the only sane woman supporting Bubbles in all of her times of insecurity, fear, and anguish and vice versa. All in all, PPGcest is yet another set of pairings I cannot stand and I would rather keep the sisterly dynamic between Blossom, Buttercup, and Bubbles as extremely platonic thank you very much. Butch x Buttercup aka Butchercup The Greens as a couple makes me want to throw up! I might as well keep these two as friends who work really well together giving any felon a well-deserved knuckle sandwich. But as a couple? No! Get those two away from each other before something explodes! Moving on. Brick x Blossom aka Blossick No! Do not ever get me started on BlossSICK anymore, as it literally and figuratively makes me sick for overrated, overloved, and over-bloated this particular pairing really is. I am sure you can tell from the title that I have been wanting to express my sentiments with this particular question. That is, what if the Powerpuff Girls did not destroy the Rowdyruff Boys with their kisses and instead have Miss Bellum adopt the Rowdyruffs, thus stripping Mojo Jojo of his title as their “guardian”, after their debut episode? One can call it the classic case of kicking Status Quo is God by the loins, thus giving Brick, Butch, and Boomer a more loving, more stable family life without the need for petty vengeance nor animosity. Moreover, the whole convoluted insanity with HIM resurrecting the boys would never have happened, even if I enjoy “The Boys are Back in Town” though I cannot overlook how much of a torture porn episode it can be especially towards the girls and through Miss Bellum’s brand of discipline and tough love, the Rowdyruff Boys would definitely be upstanding young gentlemen to not only the girls but also Townsville in general. I am not just saying this as a shipper of my OTPs Brick x Buttercup, Butch x Blossom, Butch x Bubbles, Boomer x Blossom, and Boomer x Bubbles, but also as someone who continues to be fascinated with superhero teams consisting of more than three people, hence that is why, in my headcanon, the Ruffs and the Puffs joined forces when they were still kindergarteners to form Team Xtreme. So, without further ado, let us commence. A Most Likely Scenario It is true that Miss Bellum held the key to aiding the Powerpuff Girls defeating the Rowdyruff Boys by using their feminine charm. However, knowing how Mojo Jojo indoctrinated destruction, cruelty, and violence into them and used the Rowdyruff Boy as his own guns to wreak his petty vengeance on the Powerpuff Girls, Miss Bellum would brave all odds, hop on a helicopter all the way up to Mojo’s domain and confront him directly. Mojo Jojo, once noticing Miss Bellum is there, would order the boys to attack. Knowing Miss Bellum, she would tell them to cease and desist by signaling them to stop and the boys obey. What would follow is, Miss Bellum, looking Mojo Jojo directly into the eyes and letting him spill the beans of how he made the boys to exact his vengeance on the girls. Comprehending this, she would even tell Mojo that he is not truly fit to be a parent to his “creations” and, therefore, does the unthinkable. She decides to take Brick, Butch, and Boomer away from Mojo Jojo with the boys finally getting the chance to beat him up for good and for all after receiving her permission to do so. She would even have the police involved and take Mojo off to prison once again. Brick, Butch, and Boomer would initially feel doubtful when it comes to Miss Bellum, but ultimately it would be Boomer who would show the first signs of feeling attached to their new mother with Butch and Brick eventually swallowing their pride and following suit. Moreover, now that she understands that the boys do not have real Chemical X in their systems, she would even send them to Professor Utonium to have Brick, Butch, and Boomer vaccinated with the real deal. After getting them all sorted out, Miss Bellum would even go out of her way to let the boys apologize to the girls and admit everything they have done. Eventually, Blossom, Buttercup, and Bubbles forgive Brick, Butch, and Boomer for their misdeeds, start becoming great friends and allies, and the boys would have a more stable, familial home by courtesy of Miss Sara Bellum. More Character Dynamics If the show were to go on with the Rowdyruff Boys being reformed through Miss Bellum’s influence and sense of maternal duty to her sons, Brick, Butch, and Boomer would definitely be more fully developed characters. Sure, their return found in “The Boys are Back in Town” gave them slightly more developed characters, but that is because HIM brought them back from the dead to cause more destruction and, of course, use them as his weapons in the hopes that the Powerpuff Girls are defeated. I would not mind keeping Brick’s hot-headed nature, Butch’s bouts of insanity, and Boomer’s dim-witted nature, but where my headcanon is concerned, Miss Bellum is able to find the best quality in each of her sons with Brick being brave, determined, and someone with a large-and-in-charge personality, Butch being strong, tough, equally as determined as Brick, and the overall muscle of the household and Boomer being kind, good-humored, sensitive, helpful when necessary, and just as physically strong as both Brick and Butch. In the Bellum household, one would also see just how the Rowdyruff Boys get along with Miss Bellum as their mother. I could not only imagine Miss Bellum being the stern, firm, loving, intelligent, protective disciplinarian she is but also how the dynamics between Brick, Butch, and Boomer would function. In my Team Xtreme headcanon, Brick is both book-smart and street-smart, responsible, has a large-and-in-charge and determined personality, and has a tendency to be impulsive. Butch is impulsive, tough, rough but tends to have a softer inner side to him that he does not always want to show. Boomer is the most innocent of his brothers and his heart is always in the right place. Butch admires Brick as a brother, even though he does tend to be envious at him because of how much of a well-rounded person he is. Boomer would not only look up to Brick and Butch as his brothers but he also has the tendency to get himself into their double noogies with him. There may be crazy happening within this family, but it would be great to see how they learn from each other and grow as people. So, sit back, relax, and soak in that Boomubbles sweetness and goodness. 27-year-old Boomer, 24 going on 25-year-old Bubbles, and their lovely children strike again to be the wonderfully sweet and happy family that they are. We have already gotten to know the eldest twin sons, Bailey and Barley, the second eldest daughter, Brittany, and their younger daughter, Birdie, so, let us get acquainted with the other four children, Bonnie, Ben, Bali, and Belina. Brittany’s sororal 5 going on 6-year-old twin sister, Bonnie Athena Green, was born on December 4, 2013 and it was said that she was also a jolly baby when she emerged to the point where unlike Brittany who was almost like a mini-Bubbles, Bonnie was a combination of Bubbles’ euphoria and Boomer’s sympathetic yet rambunctious nature. She is distinguishable through her slightly spiky hair and her flower-like scrunchies that she uses to keep her pigtails in place. Not only does she inherit her mother’s supersonic scream, which rendered the midwife deaf, but she also inherited her and her father’s ability to create anything out of raw energy such as that one time she made electric marbles emerge from her fingers and was flicking them across her room. She is even able to use her electric marbles in order to incapacitate any opponent rendering him shocked to his foundation. This got to the point where not only a special pacifier was made to control her supersonic screams but also special gloves to control her item forming powers, thus using them in times of need. In terms of linguistic skills, Bonnie is very fluent in Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Farsi, Hindi, Russian, and Czech, as her parents as well as her aunt, Blossom, have a huge stack of language books and CDs in the Team Xtreme library. When all is said and done, Bonnie is a fun-loving, rambunctious, sweet, and euphoric young lady whose tomboyishness contrasts rather nicely to Brittany’s girlishness, as they get along superbly as sororal twin sisters. Birdie’s 3 going on 4-year-old twin brother, Benedict David “Ben” Green, was also born on June 2, 2015. Unlike Birdie, who has heterochromia, Ben’s eyes are baby blue just like his mother. It was said that he was a jolly, euphoric baby when he and Birdie emerged from their mother’s womb and he takes after Bubbles in terms of being an animal and nature lover, sympathetic and caring to others, and being a sensitive boy. Aside from speaking the language of humans, Ben is also keen on speaking the languages of big cats, rodents, dogs, birds, reptiles, and primates. Much like Bubbles, he can also manipulate water, has a special sound wave which he emits by forming a long O-shaped mouth in order to immobilize his opponents, and has a shockwave he uses in order to incapacitate said enemies. Because he is sensitive, he does tend to let his “hardcore” side emerge whenever anyone provokes him or his family, thus making him react aggressively to anyone who mocks him, as he is an example of beware the nice ones. 1 going on 2-year-old Ballina Jacqueline “Bali” Green was born on July 3, 2017, and is the split image of Bubbles in terms of her personality. She is also a calm, placid little girl when she needs to be but she can also get easily furious when someone hurts her, her family or whenever there is crime afoot. Bali can emit lightning and thunder shockwaves from her hands and can summon up a rainstorm in order to incapacitate any monster or robber who dares cross her path. She can even emit supersonic screams to render her enemies completely deaf. In her free time, Bali loves to draw and paint, thus making her an artist in the making. 6-month-old Belina May Green was born on September 22, 2018. It was said that she was born a blissful, sweet baby who can create tiny stars with a wave of her small hands. Belina can even make those stars spread out across her crib to a dazzling effect. However, one must be careful not to cross her, as she can use these stars made out of raw energy as shurikens, thus leaving some nasty cuts on her enemies. Belina takes after her mother’s sweet, innocent personality and her father’s sympathetic personality, thus making her the most lovable of Boomer’s and Bubbles’ children. Unsurprisingly, Boomer’s and Bubbles’ children get along exceptionally well. Rarely do they have a fight and when they do, it is usually resolved with a nice talking to. It is not just the parents protecting their children, but their children protect and help out their parents whenever they are in a sticky situation or when they are hurt. This Brick-centered episode of “It’s Not Easy Bein’ Red” takes place in Townsville High back in September 2009, when Brick, Buttercup, and Bubbles were in the eleventh grade. 17-year-old Brick Green may be the most popular, well-rounded, well-loved young man in school that girls would love to date and boys would be either green with envy, yearn to be his best friend, look up to him or even want to date him but it kind of comes at a price especially when he is in the middle of a cat-fight/tug-of-war challenge between 16-year-old Buttercup Utonium, who was the most athletic student and Volleyball MVP with a hard reputation, and her 15-year-old sister Bubbles Utonium, who was an extremely well-loved cheerleader for the Townsville Tigers as well as being heavily involved in the arts, music, and theater. As I said before, being Townsville High’s most popular male student may have its perks but it can get a little bit sticky when a love triangle such as this is involved. I definitely enjoyed making this come to fruition, as I can easily consider both Brickercup and Brickubbles far more exceptional than some other overrated RuffPuff pairing I know of that has been ubiquitous throughout the PPG fandom (*cough*Blossick*cough*).
