This production of Rossini’s Il Viaggio a Reims may be an acquired taste, but it was definitely a vocal extravaganza from all of the singing superstars, whose efforts cannot and should not be ignored in the slightest. Enjoy the review and let me know your opinions as well.
Review
Let’s step into the bullfighters’ arena for this new production of Bizet’s Carmen at the Deutsche Oper Berlin starring Mademoiselle Clémentine Margaine as Carmen and Monsieur Charles Castronovo as Don José. Enjoy the review and let me know your opinions as well.
Ah, La Grande Madama Diana Damrau. Fresh from her role debut as Maria Stuarda in Zürich, she brought this iconic queen to Berlin accompanied by some equally wonderful singing actors. I know I should have mentioned this in the review, but I’ll say it anyway. I am anticipating the day she adds Anna Bolena and especially the Roberto Devereux Elisabetta I, as she will definitely knock these roles right out of the park. Enjoy the review and let me know your opinions as well.
What better way to send off the 2017-2018 Metropolitan Opera House season than with the radio broadcast of Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette starring the dashingly mellifluous Charles Castronovo and the gorgeously alluring Ailyn Pérez. Enjoy the review and let me know your opinions as well.
Sonya Yoncheva, Piotr Beczala, and Placido Domingo make their role debuts in one of Verdi’s rarely performed operas as the tragic characters of Luisa Miller, Rodolfo Walter, and Old Man Miller. Enjoy the review and let me know your opinions as well.
Physicist returns from wherever the hell she’s been to do a (late) Halloween review in honour of the late Tobe Hooper. (It was very much intended to be released on Halloween when it was filmed, sorry that it’s late.)
The time has come…

Witness the worst twist in cinematic history! No, this wasn’t directed by Shyamalan.
