Hey, everybody. Antoni here. I have just hit a new DeviantArt milestone, as I have reached exactly 600 watchers. I also want to extend my joy and gratitude to ForkDork, SportyArtist, Aurinn-N, pink-hudy, Inumaru101, Jupitrie, Rikakittie, nagellackentferner, niziolek, amethyst-rose, yellowberries, jasric, wtfisabluecornmoon, PourSomeSugarOnMeee, Hillygon, FEN-OSHI, Da-Chiko-Muffin, Meggie94, hyuniinyu, jolabrodnica, BechnoKid, MariusWales, Gothica9, PurfectPrincessGirl, Brzozan, RoperMachi, MushyBee, TheGalacticDragon, X-Vintage–Owl-X, ArtRemaker4000, BluThing67, richardhibbard, MagaMoonkyArt210, SpiritMiserably, selma11, chikisingergrl, TheBenAlpha, DontbeModest, Danigthssj5, propimol, and Beanie122001 who celebrated their birthdays over a week ago all the way up to today, thus making my fan art collage also a birthday gift to all of you wonderful artists. I hope you all had wonderful birthdays, and I wish you a lot of love, joy, prosperity, abundance, happiness, beauty, and strength in your lives as artists and as people. Since this is the month of love, I thought it would be appropriate that my fan art collage shall focus on my beloved OTPs (Namontack x Basuli, Kocoum x Tarzan, Poison Ivy x Harley Quinn, Inuyasha x Ayame, Ginta x Shunran, Ichise x Ran, Kiba x Cheza, Kohaku x Rin, Chase Young x Kimiko Tohomiko, Arnold x Phoebe, Gerald x Rhonda, Robin x Raven, Zuko x Katara, Beast Boy x Terra, and Kevin Levin x Gwen Tennyson), romantic multi-shippings (Basuli x Hercules x Tarzan, George of the Jungle x Hercules x Maugli, Namontack x George of the Jungle, Kocoum x Maugli, and George of the Jungle x Hercules x Maugli), platonically fraternal relationships (Sesshoumaru, Shuran, and Hakkaku; George of the Jungle, Basuli, Tarzan, and Maugli; and Namontack, Kocoum, and Hercules), and families (The Splendid Seven consisting of Sesshoumaru, Shuran, Inuyasha, Hakkaku, Ginta, Ayame, and Shunran; The Super Strong Jungle Septet consisting of Namontack, Kocoum, Hercules, George of the Jungle, Basuli, Tarzan, and Maugli; The Pensive Quartet consisting of Ichise, Kiba, Ran, and Cheza; and The Fabulous Four consisting of Robin, Zuko, Raven, and Katara). Let us all soak in love that comes in both platonic and romantic forms. George of the Jungle, Basuli, Tarzan, and Maugli aka Chief Keewazi’s four most beloved sons are really fortunate to have life partners in Namontack, Kocoum, and Hercules, especially since Basuli and Tarzan are happily married to Namontack and Kocoum, although all of these muscular jungle warriors are in a collectively polyamorous relationship; with Basuli and Tarzan also loving Hercules unconditionally as well as George and Maugli being just as loving towards Namontack, Kocoum and even Hercules. Hercules has also inherited his father Zeus’s virile charisma and charm, as he considers Namontack, Kocoum, George of the Jungle, Basuli, Tarzan, and Maugli to be his happily wedded husbands, thus making a handsome harem for himself that is rife with unconditional love, surprisingly healthy synergy, and gorgeous harmony. Even their progeny love living in a home where there are a whopping seven fathers. Zeus, Chief Powhatan, and Chief Keewazi could not have been any happier with their sons. The Splendid Seven was the result of forming character constellations of my seven most favourite Inuyasha characters; Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, Ayame, Shuran, Hakkaku, Ginta, and Shunran. I always believed they deserved so much better. So, why not bring them together to be akin to one tight-knit family? And it worked. Take my main BroT3 in Sesshoumaru, Shuran, and Hakkaku as well as my two main OTPs in Inuyasha x Ayame and Ginta x Shunran and you get The Splendid Seven who can kick demons’ butts one moment and be united as one family the next. Adding in their children, including Kohaku and Rin, would make their family even more complete as well as prolong their mighty bloodline. They are also adaptable in various scenarios whether in their native Feudal Era Japan or in the modern twenty-first-century era or as jungle warrior kings and queens. However, my most favourite scenario for The Splendid Seven would be having them as jungle warriors because this gives them the opportunity to let their feral sides loose, especially when Sesshoumaru, Shuran, Inuyasha, Hakkaku, and Ginta give Tarzan’s might a run for his money and Ayame and Shunran can put Sheena’s fierceness to shame. Hopefully, I could make The Splendid Seven adapt to the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers universe by having them be the Inurangers, but that is another story. My love for Texhnolyze and Wolf’s Rain as some of my most favourite anime series of all time has also motivated me to be a loyal Ichise x Ran and Kiba x Cheza partisan. Love these couples or feel indifferent to them, they have always sealed the deal for me as genuine couples with boundless chemistry. Furthermore, the notion of Ichise, Kiba, Ran, and Cheza being best friends, allies, and surrogate family members to Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, Ayame, Shuran, Hakkaku, Ginta, and Shunran was also really appealing to the point where I felt very compelled to have them this way. I am ecstatic to have kept these two couples and these four individuals close to my heart. Going beyond my usual fare of talking about anything and everything related to Inuyasha, Texhnolyze, and Wolf’s Rain plus my Disney’s Tarzan AU headcanon where I made George, Basuli, Tarzan, and Maugli brothers who are happily married to Namontack, Kocoum, and Hercules, I also have to mention the undeniable love I have for Poison Ivy x Harley Quinn from Batman the Animated Series, Arnold x Phoebe and Gerald x Rhonda from Hey Arnold; Robin x Raven and Beast Boy x Terra from Teen Titans 2003; Zuko x Katara from Avatar the Last Airbender, and Kevin x Gwen from Ben 10: Alien Force. Long story short, I have been pairing these couples ever since I was a little kid of seven years old with the Hey Arnold ones, especially Arnold x Phoebe, until I was a youth between the ages of eleven and sixteen with the rest of the couples. Regardless of the many occasions I would have loved to draw them, they have always found a special place in my heart. I also want to extend my…
Hey Arnold!
Not only is this a fan favorite when it comes to Christmas specials for animated TV shows, but it’s one that has a long-lasting impact on me.
Talk about a show that has left a long-lasting impression on me. That’s what I got with Hey Arnold, as it has left me inspired to this very day.
What a blast this is making this list of favorite episodes of Hey Arnold. I will admit that it was very difficult composing this list given the huge amount of rewatchable episodes, but the ride was a fun one! Here’s the rundown of the final 10.
So, here it is, a look back on twenty-five episodes of Hey Arnold that I love so much. This is just the first part as I have a lot to say about these episodes. So here’s a quick run-through of the episodes I mentioned.
Today, I take a look at a Nicktoon that means so much to me growing up and one of my favorite slice of life cartoons of all time. Enjoy the review and let me know your opinions as well.
“A la luz de la luna yo te miré, yo te miré Y al mirarte mi vida me enamoré, me enamoré. ¡Ay, corazón! ¡ay corazón! Dime si estás enfermo, si estás enfermo de tanto amar. Ya no curarás nunca, ya no curarás nunca, ya no curarás nunca, corazón mío, de tanto amar” -A la Luz de la Luna, Anton y Michelena English Translation: “By the light of the moon, I saw you, I saw you And by seeing you, my darling, I fell in love, I fell in love. Ah, heart! Ah, heart! Tell me if you are ill, if you are ill from so much loving. You will no longer heal, you will no longer heal, you will no longer heal, my heart, from so much loving.” This piece of Hey Arnold! fanart is dedicated to one of my role models in reviewing and a fellow DeviantArtist who celebrated his birthday yesterday, Logan Ridenbaugh aka Hewy Toonmore from Hewy’s Animated Movie Reviews. So, with that said, Logan, I hope you had a wonderful birthday, continue to be as inspiring as you are and keep up the awesome work in everything you do as an artist and as a reviewer. There’s nothing more romantic than having two of my all-time beloved Hey Arnold OTPs, Arnold/Phoebe and Gerald/Rhonda, having an intimate moment on the balcony with the stars and the moon shining upon them. Furthermore, I aged up Arnold, Phoebe, Rhonda, and Gerald to how I would think they would look like this year. So, Arnold is 31 going on 32, Phoebe is 31, Rhonda is 31, and Gerald is 31 going on 32. Yes, I am fully aware that the Arnold/Helga, Gerald/Phoebe, Curly/Rhonda, and Harold/Rhonda shippers are going to start a lynch mob and be out for my blood because Arnold/Helga and Gerald/Phoebe are canon couples and all of that! What I say to that is, bring it on but also please hear me out. I can only tolerate Arnold/Helga and Gerald/Phoebe to a certain degree because at least these pairings have their moments. However, I find the pairings between Arnold/Phoebe and Gerald/Rhonda to be not only endearing in such a charming and cute way but also extremely plausible. So, let’s not waste any time, shall we? Arnold/Phoebe It should come off as no surprise that I have shipping them ever since I was eight years old. My sentiments with this couple have not changed in the slightest. There is something so awesome, plausible, and brilliant about pairing someone as intelligent, diplomatic, kind, caring, bright, and optimistic like Arnold Shortman with someone as eloquent, pragmatic, equally intelligent, brilliant, and rather cute like Phoebe Heyerdahl. Having these two exceptionally brilliant minds and souls being paired up as a couple just spells a healthy relationship and an exceptional synergy between these two. Moreover, loyalty, respect, allegiance, and unconditional love would definitely be the key factors in Arnold’s and Phoebe’s relationship. My headcanon for this couple goes something like this. Arnold and Phoebe started going out with each other in middle school after finding out for so many years that they have something more in common than they thought. With the approval of their best friends and former love interests, Helga and Gerald, Arnold and Phoebe hit it off with each other in an instant. They stayed stable as a couple all the way up to college, which is something phenomenal and, therefore, impossible to accomplish, but they did it. Whatever petty argument Arnold and Phoebe had would be easily resolved with a good talking to, finding the root problem, and making something out of a problematic situation. They attended the same college, the University of Hillwood, where Arnold majored in International Relations and History and minored in Archaeology and English and Phoebe majored in Chemistry and Medicine and minored in Physics and Mathematics. From their bachelor’s to their master’s to their doctorate’s they graduated at the top of their classes. The day after getting their doctorate’s degrees, Arnold proceeded to ask Phoebe for her hand in marriage. She then reciprocated with tears of joy flowing from her eyes. Their parents could not be any happier for their children. Miles and Stella were so proud of Arnold for having someone as brilliant and loving as Phoebe to be his wife. While Kyo and Reba were euphoric that Phoebe found someone as faithful, supportive, and kind like Arnold to be in her life in sickness and in health. Today, Arnold Shortman and Phoebe Heyerdahl-Shortman are the proud parents of four children, Philipp Jr. who is four years old, Stella Jr. and Marie who are two years old, and Craig who is one year old. Moreover, they have long-lasting careers as accredited teachers in Hillwood High, where Arnold teaches History, Political Science, and Philosophy, while Phoebe teaches Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics. As parents, they ensure exceptional decorum for their children, lest they should end up turning into juvenile delinquents. Aside from that, they also find time to have fun with their children by going to the zoo, going to amusement parks, and even having strolls in the park. Gerald/Rhonda Somewhere in the back of my mind, I had the feeling this was going to end up as an item in my eyes. Sure, I still paired up Gerald with Cecile, Arnold’s French pen pal, and Rhonda with other guys like Alan Redman, Lorenzo, and/or Rex Smythe-Higgins. However, there is something about these two that make it work. It could be because they put so much emphasis on being cool. It could the fact that they are mostly donned in red as their trademark colors, thus making them more than compatible in terms of their passionate and rather fiery personalities. Or it could be because only a few people ever thought about having them as a couple through the fear of their personality clashes getting the best of them thus making their relationship short-lived. I say it’s a combination of their personalities and how much these…
Hey, everybody! Antoni, here, with another fan fiction recommendation. Yes, I know I was supposed to review Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte starring Tuuli Takala and Siobhan Stagg as the Queen of the Night and Pamina respectively, but I was busy with other things like school, I was quite knackered, and there was a bit of public transportation repair that had to be done, which was a bit of a detriment to my attempted journey to the Deutsche Oper Berlin. So, I decided to compensate for this loss with this interesting little fanfic based on one of my all-time favorite Nicktoons, Hey Arnold! The fanfic I’ll be taking a look at is, Arnold Betrays Iggy: Alternate Ending written by colossalblackening. It’s rated K. It’s in English and it was published to FanFiction.net on April 15 of this year. Have you ever watched an episode of your favorite TV show, whether it’s animated or live-action, and spotted an episode that makes you sick to your stomach because of its mean-spiritedness, out of character moments, and had many moments which make you say, “What the Hell happened?” Do you also feel that you could’ve bettered the overall story? Well, Arnold Betrays Iggy is one of those episodes and it was so bad that Craig Bartlett and his crew apologized for this episode’s existence. And of course, enter a bunch of fan fiction authors who do their best to write their interpretations of how they would rewrite certain episodes they don’t particularly like into something more optimistic and less mean-spirited. My personal experience with this episode was I hated it when I was a kid, felt disinterested with it as I grew up, and I still could not stand this particular episode, especially when Sid and Stinky were at fault for forcing the secret out of Arnold and they should’ve been the ones to pay the consequences. With that said, let’s get on to my thoughts on the fanfic. The fanfic starts off when Arnold finishes all of Iggy’s chores, yet the latter still has not forgiven the former. This is probably to establish that we as Hey Arnold fans or those who watched this episode already what happened prior, which is not a bad start, but I felt like the story could’ve started similarly to the original episode. I digress though, as after this the story then cuts to the chase of the familiar scene where Iggy forces Arnold to wear the bunny pajamas. For the record, it’s nice to read that Arnold’s grandpa is not being willing to take pictures of his humiliation and that Iggy confronted Stinky and Sid whilst the two of them were regretting that they were the ones actually at fault for what happened. I’m not going to spoil the ending to this fanfic, but let’s just say that it’s so satisfying with a few humorous moments coming from a few familiar characters, a touching moment with Gerald, Arnold’s best friend forever, plus with Iggy, yet an element that was a bit of headscratcher, but I digress, it’s still so satisfying and will leave anyone who reads this with a big smile and lots of pleasant thoughts. There is so much good in this fanfic. Everyone was in character, the humor from Hey Arnold! is still greatly intact, and more than anything the ending is super satisfying, especially if you cannot tolerate or even abhor Arnold Betrays Iggy. The layout is really good, though I am kind of not a fan of having the transitions marked on there as if it were a script. Even though the story was well-written, I did spot some grammar errors, in the form of missing words, and they were kind of jarring, but not enough to deter me. One noticeable one was, “how come you there with everyone else yesterday?” when it should have been, “how come you were not there with everyone else yesterday?”. Another issue was minor and once you read the ending to the fanfic, you will know what I mean. So, there you have it. You know what I’m going to give this fanfic and it’s an A-. It had a few grammatical errors and it had a bit of a plothole, but when all is said and done, the strengths more than outweigh the weaknesses and it is a fine retelling of how Arnold Betrays Iggy should’ve ended. Well, that’s all for now, and be sure to tune in for another fan fiction recommendation. Goodnight, everybody! https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12447777/Arnold-Betrays-Iggy-Alternate-Ending
