A constantly soaring lyric coloratura soprano continues to spread her wings in one of her signature roles. Assisting her are a cavalcade of equally formidable singers. Please enjoy my review and let me know your opinions.
Brilliant top notes and a bright future are what constitute Aigul Khismatullina’s journey in essaying the title role of Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor. Please enjoy my review and let me know your opinions as well.
One of the finest recordings of Lucia di Lammermoor that certainly made history!
I am back in the reviewing game with Jennifer O’Loughlin striking up the band as Anna Bolena. How did she and her co-stars fare in their roles? Find out in my review.
Lord Arturo Bucklaw from Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor. His role in this opera may be thankless, especially for a lyric tenor, but his little solo during Lucia’s wedding is absolutely fun to do. Perhaps, it would have been more fun with the chorus. Enjoy listening to my rendition of Arturo’s little number as much as I enjoyed singing it.
Trust me, when I say that I have much better singers embodying the four main characters of Donizetti’s final comedic opera. Enjoy my review and let me know your opinions as well.
Two Hispanic operatic aces of the twenty-first century, one who is a young lyric coloratura soprano from Madrid, Spain and is on the cusp of international acclaim and the other who is a light lyric tenor from Hermosillo, Mexico and has been a well-established Bel Canto star for decades, tackle the iconic Scottish star-crossed lovers.
A charming young lyric coloratura soprano rises to the challenge to bring one of the most famous Donizetti Bel Canto heroines of all time to the stage of the Deutsche Oper Berlin. Enjoy the review and let me know your opinions as well.
Ah, La Grande Madama Diana Damrau. Fresh from her role debut as Maria Stuarda in Zürich, she brought this iconic queen to Berlin accompanied by some equally wonderful singing actors. I know I should have mentioned this in the review, but I’ll say it anyway. I am anticipating the day she adds Anna Bolena and especially the Roberto Devereux Elisabetta I, as she will definitely knock these roles right out of the park. Enjoy the review and let me know your opinions as well.
