Lord Arturo Bucklaw from Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor. His role in this opera may be thankless, especially for a lyric tenor, but his little solo during Lucia’s wedding is absolutely fun to do. Perhaps, it would have been more fun with the chorus. Enjoy listening to my rendition of Arturo’s little number as much as I enjoyed singing it.

Ah, La Grande Madama Diana Damrau. Fresh from her role debut as Maria Stuarda in Zürich, she brought this iconic queen to Berlin accompanied by some equally wonderful singing actors. I know I should have mentioned this in the review, but I’ll say it anyway. I am anticipating the day she adds Anna Bolena and especially the Roberto Devereux Elisabetta I, as she will definitely knock these roles right out of the park. My time here in Oslo has come to an end and what better way for my trip to go out with a bang than with this charming production of Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore live from the Met headed by Maestro Domingo Hindoyan and starring Pretty Yende and Matthew Polenzani as the iconic lovers, Adina and Nemorino. This also marks the successful debut of one baryton noble, Monsieur Davide Luciano as Belcore. Enjoy the review and let me know your opinions as well.
