Greetings and salutations, fellow aficionados of anime, Power Rangers, Super Sentai, and everything early 1990s to early 2000s, Antoni here with another Inurangers entry. Today, I will be delving into the seven Mighty Morphin Inurangers’ platonic relationships which could make Tommy Oliver, Jason Lee Scott, Rocky DeSantos, Zack Taylor, Adam Park, Billy Cranston, Trini Kwan, Aisha Campbell, Kimberly Ann Hart, and Katherine Hillard really proud of the seven teenage Yokai warriors with attitude in terms of their strong bonds together. As a close-knit family who stick by each other and encourage each other with all their hearts, minds, and soul to be better than they are, each of these Mighty Morphin Inurangers also have strong platonic relationships that have solidified their bonds in a fiercely strong manner. Even if Urasue and her cronies consisting of Goshinki, Kotatsu, Rengokuki, Byakuya, and Yura of the Hair deign to use their machinations to destroy them and Naraku implements his plots to attempt to separate them, these seven teenage Yokai warriors with attitude will never be broken by any stretch of the imagination. This is because they count on each other with all of their lives and would never dream of abandoning each other. With that said, let us dig in to the Inurangers’ main platonic relationships. You know the drill, ladies and gentlemen, it’s morphin time and we need Ninja Inuranger power now! White Tigerzord Power! Green Dragonzord Power! Black Mastodon Power! Pink Pterodactyl Power! Blue Triceratops Power! Yellow Sabre-Toothed Tiger Power! Red Tyrannosaurus Power! Sesshoumaru and Shuran: Formidable Fighters and Close Comrades It is easy to peg Sesshoumaru the White Tigerzord Ranger and Shuran the Green Dragonzord Ranger as the Special Rangers in the vein of Tommy Oliver from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Mike Corbett from Power Rangers Lost Galaxy, and both Eric Myers and Alex Drake from Power Rangers Time Force because they are the most experienced combatants and the strongest warriors who can challenge the already established team with their physical power and firm warrior code. In fact, Sesshoumaru bears one notable aspect of the Sixth/Extra Ranger in which he is the stoic and aloof warrior akin to Eric Myers, while Shuran bears the other notable aspect of being the Sixth/Extra Ranger in which he is the brutally strong berserker akin to Tommy Oliver during his Green Ranger tenure. Combining both qualities together make Sesshoumaru and Shuran a lethal force to be reckoned with. Sesshoumaru may have the stealth, focus, and determination as the Inurangers’ deadliest fighter and veteran Karateka, while Shuran may have the brute strength, high-impact submission holds, and bone-shattering takedowns as the Inurangers’ strongest fighter and wrestler specialising in various styles. However, these traits are barely half of what make Sesshoumaru and Shuran powerful whether individually or together. What makes them truly powerful is their perseverance, grit, and innate desire to never settle for anything less plus being the Mighty Morphin Inurangers’ main bastion of power not just in terms of prize-winning combat prowess but also in cooperation and balance. While Sesshoumaru and Shuran embody Tommy’s two drastically different sides during his tenure in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, i.e. the noble White Tigerzord Ranger and the brutal Green Dragonzord Ranger, they would also emulate Eric Myers’ stoicism and strength combined with Alex Drake’s toughness and resilience to a tee, thus creating a Yin-and-Yang dynamic with each other. Sesshoumaru’s and Shuran’s dynamic brotherhood demonstrates how willing they are to stand by each other, challenge each others’ notions about each other as the strongest fighters of the team as well as individuals, and willingness to make the odds be at their favour. Their strong cooperation is what has brought them and their teammates together, for they have great formidability in defeating their foes with everything they got. Formidable combat prowess and raw power aside, Sesshoumaru and Shuran put their faith and trust in each other to give each other reassurance under the face of doubt. Should Shuran be injured, Sesshoumaru would risk his life to save his comrade. Should Sesshoumaru be in the face of danger, Shuran would use his prodigious strength to stop whatever is hurting him and would protect him with all of his might and being. Furthermore, they would do everything in their power to encourage each other to not settle for mediocrity and confide in each other with attentiveness, undivided attention, and high interest to thoroughly understand each others’ dreams, desires, fears, and hopes. Their interpersonal balance is just as important because Sesshoumaru can help Shuran be more focused and goal-oriented with what he desires in his life, while Shuran can help Sesshoumaru realise that there is more to life than glory and conquest as well as have the occasional time to relax and enjoy the simpler things in life. Additionally, both Sesshoumaru and Shuran would learn a few lessons on humility, a good attitude, self-sacrifice, and respect for each other and their family. In fact, there have been several occasions where Sesshoumaru risked his own life to save Shuran, for their innate sense of platonic companionship and total brotherhood made him see that they shared a lot in common as people first and warriors next. Nothing can ever break Sesshoumaru and Shuran apart, for their brotherhood is rich in genuine solidarity, dynamic balance, and undying respect. Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha: Inuranger Brothers Together, Warriors Forever Full-time Ranger siblings by blood are not a novelty, for Super Sentai fans do not need to look further than the five Hoshikawa siblings from Chikyuu Sentai Fiveman, Geki and Burai from Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger, and the five Tatsumi siblings from Kyukyu Sentai GoGoFive. In the Power Rangers lore, aficionados need not look further than Mike and Leo Corbett from Lost Galaxy and Ryan and Dana Mitchell from Lightspeed Rescue. Sesshoumaru the White Tigerzord Ranger and Inuyasha the Red Tyrannosaurus Ranger do follow in the vein of the older sibling being the Sixth/Extra Ranger who is the stealthy yet aloof fighter and the younger sibling being the Red Ranger…
Among the Black/Blue Rangers in Power Rangers, who do you think Hakkaku would call as his big brother and best friend? A. Zack Taylor (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) B. Adam Park (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) C. Billy Cranston (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) D. Corcus (Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers) E. Rocky DeSantos (Power Rangers Zeo) F. Theodore Jay “TJ” Jarvis Johnson (Power Rangers In Space) G. Kai Chen (Power Rangers Lost Galaxy) H. Chad Lee (Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue) I. Lucas Kendall (Power Rangers Time Force) J. Danny Delgado (Power Rangers Wild Force)
Greetings and salutations, fellow aficionados of anime, Power Rangers, Super Sentai, and everything early 1990s to early 2000s, Antoni here with another Inurangers entry. Today, I will be delving into the main Mighty Morphin Inurangers heroes, as in the seven teenage Yokai warriors with attitude. This is a general overview of who they are as heroes and as comrades. High off of my recent excitement of my finished drawing of Sesshoumaru, Shuran, Inuyasha, Hakkaku, Ginta, Ayame, and Shunran as the Mighty Morphin Inurangers, I thought it would be great to have a go at enlisting the heroes in my Mighty Morphin Inurangers headcanon and discuss which Mighty Morphin Power Rangers counterpart suits each of the seven teenage Yokai warriors with attitude. Before I get on to the main cast, a few words about composite and decomposite characters because there is going to be a number of them, especially in the heroes and in the villains. Since the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers had two Red Rangers, two Black Rangers, one Blue Ranger, two Yellow Rangers, and two Pink Rangers, Inuyasha, Hakkaku, Ginta, Ayame, and Shunran are going to receive that composite character treatment, with Hakkaku and Ginta sharing a great number of the black rangers’ and the blue ranger’s traits. Where Sesshoumaru and Shuran are concerned, they are the decomposite character versions of Tommy Oliver during his respective White Ranger and Green Ranger days. Therefore, there are no International Peace Conferences, no Pan Global Games, no transfer of leadership just like what happened with Tommy’s new tenure as the White Ranger, and no power transfers until the main seven Mighty Morphin Inurangers get transformed into children, thus commencing the action for Mighty Morphin Makai Rangers and, subsequently, Inurangers Zeo but with a completely new cast. Therefore, the main seven Mighty Morphin Inurangers are going to stay the same from Season 1 to Season 3, with the only changes per season being their Zords and even their Ninjetti outfits in Season 3. Speaking of the main seven as well as the Inurangers’ version of the Morphing Grid, where Mighty Morphin Power Rangers had five members at least to six members at most, there would already be seven members, seven morphing coins, and seven Power Morphers. This universe’s version of the classic saga “Green with Evil” would have neither Shuran nor Sesshoumaru introduced as new Rangers but already part of the established team, with the situation being that Shuran gets kidnapped by Urasue and turns evil before being woken up to his senses by having Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha blast the Sword of Evil away from him. Even more is how Shuran’s Green Ranger powers would tie him to the Green Candle created by Urasue and guarded by Goshinki as revenge for betraying her, thus making his life hang in the balance. Things came to a head when Shuran’s Green Ranger powers were slowly being depleted, while Sesshoumaru was doing everything he could to protect him from certain doom. Everything would come to a head when Shuran was trapped by Goshinki, thus making Inuyasha do battle with Goshinki and Sesshoumaru rescue Shuran from certain doom, with Inuyasha retrieving the candle in the nick of time, although its flame was slowly being depleted. As a result, Sesshoumaru decided to remain by Shuran’s side and momentarily hang up his White Ranger mantle until they try to find a way to recharge his Green Ranger powers, while Inuyasha inherited the Golden Dragon Shield and Dragon Dagger from Shuran. To maintain this seven-member team, there would also be a legendary weapon that would end up recharging their powers in the form of the Sword of Light. Zordon was still recharging Sesshoumaru’s and Shuran’s White and Green Ranger powers, especially the latter’s with the candle still fading away, before he sent the Inurangers on a mission to retrieve the Sword of Light to fully recharge Shuran’s Green Ranger powers. Zordon may have fully recharged Sesshoumaru’s White Ranger powers because they could not be corrupted by evil hands and were fully guarded, but Shuran’s case was more drastic, for he had been under Urasue’s influence during his abduction, and the Sword of Light was needed to make the Green Ranger powers more invincible than ever before, thus fully purifying him from Urasue’s remaining grip. The Sword of Light was retrieved and Shuran was officially back in business as the Green Ranger. The Sword of Light was going to be later used for Shunran when her Pink Ranger powers were slowly being depleted by Urasue’s and Naraku’s corruption of them during the third season, thus purifying her from their corruption and gaining newer powers too. Therefore, the Sword of Light is not going to be utilised for giving power transfers but for recharging the Inurangers when their powers are running dry and in dire need of a boost. With that said, let us get introduced to our main seven heroes. You know the drill, ladies and gentlemen, it’s morphin time and we need Ninja Inuranger power now! White Tigerzord Power! Green Dragonzord Power! Black Mastodon Power! Pink Pterodactyl Power! Blue Triceratops Power! Yellow Sabre-Toothed Tiger Power! Red Tyrannosaurus Power! The Seven Mighty Morphin Inurangers Take two dog Yokai warrior brothers in Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha, two panther Yokai warriors in Shuran and Shunran, and three wolf Yokai warriors in Hakkaku, Ginta, and Ayame, and you get the Mighty Morphin Inurangers. Teleporting seven overemotional and overbearing teenage Yokai warriors with attitude in the forms of Inuyasha, Shuran, Sesshoumaru, Hakkaku, Ginta, Ayame, and Shunran from Shikon Valley, Tokyo, Japan to the Command Centre may have seemed like an initial nightmare for Alpha 5, but Zordon has sufficient faith in these seven powerful supernatural warriors who are known for their strength, valour, stamina, and determination as heroes and as individuals. Whatever putties, monsters, and demons Urasue has for them during Season 1 and Naraku creates during Seasons 2 and 3, the seven Mighty Morphin Inurangers are not going…
Among the Red Power Rangers in Forever Red, which is the Power Rangers Wild Force where Red Rangers from previous seasons gather to defeat a greater evil in the form of Serpenterra, who do you think Inuyasha would call as his big brother and best friend forever? A. Jason Lee Scott (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) B. Aurico (Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers) C. Tommy Oliver (Power Rangers Zeo) D. Theodore Jay “TJ” Jarvis Johnson (Power Rangers Turbo) E. Andros (Power Rangers in Space) F. Leo Corbett (Power Rangers Lost Galaxy) G. Carter Grayson (Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue) H. Wesley “Wes” Collins (Power Rangers Time Force) I. Eric Myers (Power Rangers Time Force) J. Cole Evans (Power Rangers Wild Force)
Greetings and salutations, fellow aficionados of anime, Power Rangers, Super Sentai, and everything early 1990s to early 2000s, Antoni here. Be prepared to don those nostalgia goggles once again, everybody, because I am going to take you back to the years where my fictionalised version of Saban’s Power Rangers franchise from August 28, 1993 to August 10, 2002, with the final Saban-Era Power Ranger incarnation Wild Force airing its twenty-sixth episode before moving to Disney, would have aired on Toonami from August 28, 2000 to September 20, 2008. As to be expected, these also include the Inuranger movie tie-ins much like their real-life counterparts in the forms of 1995’s Mighty Morphin Power Rangers the Movie and 1997’s Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie. Strap in for a morphenomenal ride back to your childhoods, fellow 90s to early 2000s friends, and stay glued to your television screens with some popcorn . This will mark the last time I am ever going to redo this list of what I would call the Toonami Era of the Inurangers franchise, which is the Saban Era of Power Rangers franchises’s fictionalised counterpart. It is not because I do not want to do it anymore, but because I love the Saban Era of the Power Rangers even with some of its gaping flaws and moments of campiness, and, of course, I also love anime with a passion. Even looking back at the previous attempts of making the Toonami-Era Inurangers teams list, I did not know what I was thinking when assigning certain characters these particular rangers. For instance, the fact that I made Kyuzo from Samurai 7 the Inuranger version of Cole Evans of Wild Force was a decision I regretted, but I have learned from this experience, and I would gladly recast Kyuzo as a seventh ranger in Inurangers Lightspeed Rescue and reassign the Cole Evans role to none other than Ippo Makunouchi from Hajime no Ippo. Speaking of Hajime no Ippo and recasting, there will also be some recasts done, including having Ichiro Miyata be the Inurangers Turbo version of TJ Johnson among other decisions that shall gladly be rectified. Nevertheless, this is still going to be a whole lot of fun because at least they are in their right roles, with select entries still maintaining their right casting. Ever since re-evaluating and re-organising the Toonami-era Inurangers teams, I have also become a lot stricter in terms of one cast of seven members per incarnation. As I stated before, I am not going by the real-life Super Sentai/Power Rangers franchise of having mostly five to eventually six members per incarnation but a total of seven members, for the colours of red, green, white, black, blue, yellow, and pink shall remain intact as the primary Inuranger colours, although incarnations such as In Space, Lightspeed Rescue, Time Force, and Wild Force would mix up the colour scheme. For instance, Mighty Morphin Inurangers Seasons 1 until 3 will still have the same cast of seven rangers, while Zeo and subsequent seasons would have entirely new casts of seven rangers, although there will be some members of Inurangers Turbo who are going to end up in the In Space incarnation. Therefore, the strict rule of seven members per Inurangers incarnation prevails. I would also like to have a word about composite and decomposite characters because this is something I could have addressed a little bit more verbosely when I was doing these Inurangers lists. Because there are seven members per Inurangers incarnation in total, there will be occasions where the traits of certain characters would also be inhabited by the characters I have chosen to be the specific colour of Inuranger. This especially holds the most weight in Mighty Morphin Inurangers, but is also true for Inurangers In Space, Inurangers Lightspeed Rescue, and Inurangers Time Force to a certain extent. For instance, Sesshoumaru the White Mighty Morphin Inuranger and Shuran the Green Mighty Morphin Inuranger are decomposite characters of Tommy Oliver’s tenure as the Green Ranger from MMPR Seasons 1 to 2 and the White Ranger from MMPR Seasons 2 to 3, with the former leaning towards more on Tommy Oliver’s entire persona and the latter bearing most traits from Tommy’s clone/”twin” Tom from “Return of the Green Ranger”. Inuyasha, Hakkaku, Ginta, Ayame, and Shunran are going to receive the composite character treatment, and you will find out which composite character combinations suit them the most. So, do not expect any Peace Conferences or International Gymnastics deals or what have you to occur in any of these instances, especially with what specifically happened to Walter Emanuel Jones, Thuy Trang, and Austin St. John during their tenure on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Besides, the less said about what happened during their time with payment and their demand for unionisation the better because that is quite the can of worms several Power Rangers fans could never shake off. There will also be instances where certain allies to the Power Rangers in canon would find themselves being rangers themselves as embodied by the chosen characters, such as the likes of Billy the former Blue Mighty Morphin Power Ranger from Zeo as the White Gold Ranger, Alex Drake the first Red Time Force Ranger joining in the team as the Crimson Time Ranger, Ms. Angela Fairweather from Lightspeed Rescue participating as the Chromium Lightspeed Rescue Ranger, and Princess Shayla from Wild Force becoming more active as the Emerald Deer Ranger all embodied by the characters I have chosen for them. They will essentially contribute far more than any viewer or hardcore Power Rangers let alone Super Sentai fan can ever bargain for. Additionally, there are also some mixes as to which character I would assign for which specific ranger, especially since I would assign Toran from Inuyasha as the first female Red Inuranger in Inurangers Zeo with Mika Seido from Geneshaft as the second female Red Inuranger for In Space following suit, Botan from YuYu Hakusho as the first…
Greetings and salutations, fellow aficionados of anime, Power Rangers, Super Sentai, and everything early 1990s to early 2000s, Antoni here. I hope you have a bowl of cereal, a nice plate of bacon and eggs, and a glass of orange juice ready with you because this would make you feel a whole more nostalgic once again, given the title. This hopefully marks the final time I am going to make a list of the seven main Inurangers cast from what I would like to call the Toonami Era of 2000 until 2009 as a counterpoint to the real-life Saban Era of Power Rangers from 1993 to 2002. I have even included the two movies that were released during the Saban Era, Inuranger-style, i.e. Mighty Morphin Inurangers the Movie and Turbo: An Inurangers Movie. I did a lot of thinking, rethinking, and re-assessing, and I realised that, despite all the changes I made so far, I was still not satisfied with my prior list because there were some characters I believe deserved to be part of the Inurangers franchise as well as more love. Furthermore, there were some characters that would have made more sense than others in terms of the roles I assigned for them. This also means that there will be cast changes per Inuranger season akin to what is done in the Super Sentai shows, thus having all three seasons of Mighty Morphin Inurangers maintain the same seven members, instead of what occurred in real life when the OG Red, Yellow, and Black Rangers portrayed by Austin St John, Thuy Trang, and Walter Emanuel Jones hanging their mantles and passing their roles on to Steve Cardenas, Karan Ashley, and Johnny Yong Bosch, and having Inurangers Zeo with a completely different cast. This is essentially passing down the torch to each new Inuranger group as well as season. With that said, let us get this show on the row. It’s Morphin’ Time! Shift into Turbo! Let’s rocket! Go galactic! Lightspeed Rescue! Time for Time Force! Wild access! Greetings and salutations, fellow aficionados of anime, Power Rangers, and everything early 1990s to early 2000s. Antoni here. Ever since I made the cast list of what I would love to call the “Saban” Era of Inurangers for the first time, I thought I was going to be satisfied with it. However, looking back at that former list, I was not entirely happy let alone satisfied with it, as there were some casting choices that could have been more legitimate let alone improved. There were casting choices which were based on me not fully researching on the character enough, which made me inquire to myself, what I was thinking when I made that move. Furthermore, some of the casting choices were based off of either blind nostalgia or just simply not knowing any better. I have also done some reflecting on the “Saban” era of the Inurangers. Much like how its original and real-life Saban-era Power Rangers counterpart aired on Fox Kids from 1993 to 2002, I figured that the Inurangers’ “Saban” era would be called the Toonami Era from 2000 to 2009 because Toonami would be a great Cartoon Network afternoon block for children, teenagers, and the young at heart to see anime characters in spandex fighting evil while also having the occasional PSA that would teach us lessons about discipline, honesty, encouragement, and dedication. Yes, I know the original Toonami ended in October 2008, but just think of this as my personal vindication for the fans who really loved and were passionate about the 1997 to 2008 era of Toonami. Once again the same rule applies for Inurangers in terms of main members, especially when I also list the anime series they originally come from. Unlike its real-life Power Rangers counterparts where there are between five to six main members of their respective groups from Mighty Morphin to Wild Force, there is going to be seven main members in the Inuranger franchise. Why seven, I hear you ask again? Let me remind you that the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers from Seasons 1 to 3, despite Tommy Oliver being the Green Ranger from Seasons 1 to 2 and the White Ranger from Seasons 2 to 3, actually has a total of seven Power Ranger suits, thus following the colour scheme of having a red ranger, a green ranger, a white ranger, a black ranger, a blue ranger, a yellow ranger, and a pink ranger. Member-wise, there will also be some deviations, especially in the later parts of Mighty Morphin Inurangers Seasons 2, all of Mighty Morphin Inurangers Season 3, and the later parts of Inurangers Zeo, as there are going to be a total of eleven members at least in those seasons. Colour-wise, there are also going to be some deviations in In Space, Lightspeed Rescue, Time Force, and Wild Force. Finally, and this is something I should have done in the older list, I am also going to list their English voice actors for their respective rangers because I am sure you would love the thought of hearing them say their respective Inuranger morphing time roll calls. With that said, grab your bowl of cereal, plate of bacon and eggs, glass of orange juice, and pieces of fruit, as you sit in front of the television to see your favourite anime heroes in spandex defend the world from all evil. It’s Morphin time! Shift into Turbo! Let’s rocket! Go galactic! Lightspeed rescue! Time for Time Force! Resistance is beyond futile because even though they can dish out such awesome fighting moves on the ring, they can be wonderfully gentle and suave if you give them a chance. I hope you all enjoyed this and I will see you all in the next submission. Take care, everybody. Baki Hanma from Baki the Grappler belongs to Keisuke Itagaki and Group TAC. Kiichi “Kiibo” Miyazawa Shootfighter Tekken or High School Exciting Story: Tough belongs to Tetsuya Saruwatari and Anime International Company. Ippo Makunouchi from Hajime no Ippo belongs to George Morikawa and Madhouse.
