I know I was supposed to submit this on Friday, but I had other things to accomplish like be present in a film shoot, watch Gounod’s Faust at the Deutsche Oper Berlin starring Valentin Dytiuk as Faust, Nicole Car as Marguerite, and Almas Svilpa as Mephistopheles, and make a vlog-style review of that opera the following day thus releasing it onto YouTube. So, to Paula, I am really, really sorry for the delay, but life happens and priorities have to be taken into consideration. I hope you can forgive me for the super, super long delay. And lo and behold, we also have Brickercup present here, oh, pure, boundless joy. So, we have a triple whammy here, a lovely, sweet BroTP in the form of the awesomely macho big brother-in-law Brick and inwardly hardcore little sister-in-law Bubbles, a fine BroTP or in this case SisTP in the form of the toughest fighter of an older sister Buttercup and the joy and the laughter of the youngest sister Bubbles, and the most awesome and my most personal favorite mixed-colored pairing OTP for life in the form of the large-and-in-charge, strong, handsome Brick and his sassy, feisty, tough wife Buttercup. Let’s get on with the show. Narrator: The City of Townsville! Team Xtreme Headquarters! And after last night’s shocking moment, it’s high time for the awesome men and women of Team Xtreme to start this shiny, new day. (Boomer’s and Bubbles’ room. Bubbles is the first to wake up, as Boomer is still sleeping. She passes by the training room where Butch is bench pressing and Blossom is doing push-ups, their usual morning routine. After that, she passes by Brick who is wearing an apron with the inscription “Chef in da House” all in capital letters and who is also cooking breakfast for his teammates consisting of eggs, whole wheat toast, avocado slices, Canadian bacon, and roasted bell peppers and Buttercup who is setting the table while in her training outfit, as she used the training room before Butch and Blossom.) Brick: Good morning, darling kid sister-in-law. Did you sleep well? Bubbles: Uh-huh. Brick: Well, breakfast will be ready in about 15 minutes. So, do me a solid and call Butch, Blossom, and Boomer to the dining hall. Buttercup: By the way, Bubs. You got a letter from that girl you saved last night. Bubbles: Oh, you mean Jessica? Buttercup: Yeah, it’s on the counter. I placed it there for you before you woke up. (Bubbles goes to the counter and sees a fuschia envelope in which the back side says “To Bubbles Utonium-Green” and the front side says “From Jessica King”. She then opens the letter and reads it.) Jessica (voiceover): Dear Bubbles. Thanks for saving me from those bad guys. You are my hero and I wanna be like you when I grow up. Love, Jessica. (After reading the letter, Bubbles then sees a picture of Jessica, Mr. King, and Mrs. Smiling radiantly. Tears of joy are almost about to flow from Bubbles’ eyes. Brick and Buttercup approach her and comfort her.) Brick: Like I said, Bubs, I am really proud of you. You not only saved someone as nice and kind as Jessica from being attacked by those bastards but you also made a really great friend through her. Buttercup: As your sister, I always believed in you, Bubs. You really outdid yourself last night and I couldn’t be any happier for you. You risked your life to save another. And now that you made a great, new friend like Jess, I can’t wait to also meet her. She seems like a great kid. Bubbles: Yeah, she truly is. (Brick, Buttercup, and Bubbles group hug.) This was definitely in the making, as I wanted a bit of closure from the whole Jessica King case, and I was rather satisfied with the results. Like I said, it took time, heart, lots of thinking, effort, plausibility, and lots of love to continue this little story from where the first submission left off and I’m sure this will touch many hearts if it manages to do so. If it does, great and even if it does not, I’m sure it will get a reacting from someone. Well, Paula, you enjoyed this belated submission. I apologize from the bottom of my heart for the delay, but you know life happens and I hope you can forgive. By the way, the surname Green is meant for the Rowdyruff Boys as their permanent surname instead of Jojo, as Mr. Green and Mrs. Sara Bellum-Green are their adoptive parents after the whole Him and Mojo Jojo debacle in Custody Battle, at least where my headcanon is concerned. Long story short, the Rowdyruffs were officially adopted by Miss Bellum while they were still six years old, thus making the Powerpuffs specifically Blossom and Buttercup five years old and Bubbles four years old back then, after she found them in the streets. Brickubbles
This is my first Brickubbles month submission as spearheaded by my dearest friend and fellow DeviantArtist, BrickercupMasterX3. The basic story behind this picture goes like this. Brick, Butch, Boomer, Blossom, Buttercup, and Bubbles have decided to call it a night after ridding Townsville of a giant monster ravaging the city. Bubbles decided that she wants to do some final scouting of the city to which her teammates consented, as she is old enough to take care of herself even though she is the youngest teammate. As she was scouting, she spotted some thugs making advances on a battered ten-year-old girl. The sight of this cruelty was enough to let Bubbles unleash her hardcore side, as she beat the thugs up. The ten-year-old girl introduced herself as Jessica King and she said she wanted to go back to her parents but she ended up getting lost. Bubbles offered to call Jessica’s parents on her Team Xtreme cellphone to which she did. After finishing her call, Jessica alerted Bubbles that one of the thugs was right behind her. It was too late, as the thug whacked Bubbles on her head with a club. Jessica was frozen with fear, but Bubbles’ last words before she was dragged off was, “Call Brick.” Without hesitation, Jessica did just that, as she searched through the contacts. In the nick of time, Mr. and Mrs. King arrived to pick up their daughter. In a state of panic, Jessica called Brick on the Team Xtreme cellphone. Brick received the news and a flash of anger was brewing in his eyes. As the eldest of Team Xtreme, he commanded Butch, Boomer, Blossom, and Buttercup to head back to Team Xtreme headquarters and assured them that he will be back at 10 PM. Bubbles woke up to the sound of malicious laughing, as the thugs were about to violate her. Battered, Bubbles was about to go to her hardcore phase until Brick came along. He fought with all of his strength receiving lacerations from the thugs’ knives and a few beatings. Bubbles joined him in beating up the thugs until her body gave way and fainted. Brick handed the thugs over to the police and carried Bubbles home via a piggy-back ride on him. What follows is the aftermath of what happened that night. Bubbles (waking up on Brick’s back): Where am I? Brick? Brick: Bubs! Thank God you’re awake! Bubbles: What happened? Where’s Jessica? Brick: Well, apparently, you used up a lot of your energy when you went hardcore to beat up those bastards. You don’t need to worry about Jessica. She’s safe with her parents and she’s so thankful to have someone brave like you save her. If that didn’t happen, she would’ve been a goner for sure. Bubbles: Did she really mean it? Brick: Yeah, she even gave me this. (Brick gives Bubbles her Team Xtreme cellphone.) Bubbles: My cellphone. Thanks, Brick. Brick: Don’t thank me. Thank Jessica for keeping it in mint condition. You were actually wise to tell her to call me when you were in danger. I know I’m supposed to be angry at you for going off on your own like that, but I am actually proud of you for saving that girl’s life. You really are something, Bubbles. Bubbles: And in return, you rescued me. Sometimes, I still can’t believe you went from being the jerky kid who used to be mean to me and my sisters to an awesome person who knows how to take charge. I guess it’s no wonder why BC is so happy to have you as her husband. You’re always there for us. Plus, you and Blossom are great as our team leaders. So, I just wanna say, thank you so much, Brick, for all the times you saved not only me but also the people who were in danger. Brick: You’re welcome, Bubs. I’ve always been saving you because it was not only the right thing to do, but you are like the little sister I never had. I’ve only been growing up with my bros before we got adopted by our mom and dad. I just wanna leave Mojo and Him in the past. That’s where they should stay and they don’t deserve to be in neither my nor your life. Bubbles: Brick, you’ve learned from the past. And look at you. You’re a wonderful guy and I am so happy you’re in my life. Not only as my big brother-in-law but also a great leader for Team Xtreme. Brick: Gee, thanks, Bubs. You know what? I really like how forgiving and compassionate you are. You really know how to give people a second chance in life and you always fight for what’s right. At times, I wish I could be like you. Bubbles: Really? Brick: Yeah. Anyways, it’s getting late. Let’s get you home before Boomer starts to have another panic attack of losing you, Butterbabe starts beating my ass for it, Bloss starts scolding me why I didn’t get you home on time, and Butch starts not speaking to me for not rescuing you. You need rest, Bubs. Bubbles: I’ll do just that, Brick. (Bubbles closes her eyes, as Brick flies gently back to Team Xtreme headquarters where Butch and Blossom were sleeping side by side in their queen-size bed, Buttercup was sleep-punching in her’s and Brick’s king-size bed, and Boomer is sleeping still in his and Bubbles’ queen-size bed. Brick lays her down beside Boomer and gives Bubs a goodnight kiss.) Brick: Goodnight, little sis-in-law. I’ll see you in the morning. (Brick heads back to his and Buttercup’s room where he scooches over to her side and stops her sleep punching. Buttercup’s mouth contorts to a smile and Brick dozes off.) The PPG/RRB Shipping Chart was originally created by QuietLullabies. Well, I am in the marvelous city of Madrid, Spain, where I will be celebrating my 26th birthday. Yes, I know, another year older, another year wiser. So, to celebrate my upcoming birthday here’s my take on the whole PPG/RRB shipping meme chart. I have been seeing fellow artists’ takes on these pairings. Some were interesting, some were a bit one-sided, and some were actually well-thought out and I enjoyed reading their opinions on the Rowdyruffs and Powerpuffs they like or not like to pair up with. So, without ado, here’s my take on the PPG/RRB shippings. OTPs: Boomer/Bubbles or Boomubbles- In my opinion, this has to be the most plausible and overall best of not only the color-coded RRB/PPG pairings but also RRB/PPG pairings in general. These two seem like they are destined to be for each other and are akin to the star-crossed lovers that I have seen in the media and literature, i.e. Romeo and Juliet. I am very sure that these two would start leaving behind any animosity if the Rowdyruff Boys became good guys, joined forces with the Powerpuff Girls and will be the first to show loads of forgiveness and compassion, while they are still young children. Eventually, Boomer and Bubbles would start becoming the closest of friends and comrades, thus building a healthy and genuine relationship between the two. Once they reach their tweens and teens, they would develop even deeper feelings for each other and will actually go on more dates, aside from the usual crime-fighting they have to do. Plus, in my headcanon, they would end up being the first to marry in their late teens to their early 20s and have children with Boomer being the loving, well-meaning father and Bubbles being the supportive, compassionate mother, in spite of the fact that they are the youngest of their respective sibling groups. It’s no surprise why I love the Blues when they are together. It’s because of not only their appeal of being adorable, sweet, and/or lovely but it also has this fairytale-like feel in their relationship, where after every trial, every challenge, and every hardship, Boomer and Bubbles still have each others’ backs and will seem to be the couple that will stay faithful to each other until the end of time. The Reds and the Greens were rather interesting to pair up because not only do I like Blossick and Butchercup, even though they can be a tad bit overrated, but I also enjoy Brickercup and Blossutch as much as the former. Moreover, the Reds and the Greens don’t really have that fairy tale, lovey-dovey, sentimental vibe that the Blues have, thus showing how tough being in a relationship is, yet at the same time it is reassuring, as principles of respect, responsibility, compassion, allegiance, and trust need to be put in to practice, not only with each other but also for the good of their team. So, here’s my take on these pairings, even though I made it kind of clear in my OT4 drawing of Bricksomutchercup. I still keep my word that Brick, Butch, Blossom, and Buttercup are the strongest OT4 in my opinion, hence that’s why I dub them to be my Four Favorite Bruisers of All Time because of their unwaveringly strong personalities and overall determination. Plus, I imagine the Reds and the Greens living together under one roof, with the Blues living in another house. So, here are my explanations, anyway. Brick/Blossom or Blossick- I put this as my first choice because they seem to be the ones who follow suit when it comes to Boomer and Bubbles being together. As they grow up and form a six-person superhero team, I can see them still obtaining responsibilities of being leaders as well as the eldest children with Brick and his large-and-in-charge warlord personality who ensures a fair fight, great combat skills from all of his teammates, and a grand victory for every mission they do and Blossom and her tendency to be the team mom who ensures strategy to be present in battle and the overall safety of not only her beloved but also her comrades. I can see their romance as not being that of a fairy tale but one that is really challenging, as walls need to be broken down, trust has to be formed, and respect and allegiance need to be put to practice. Sure, they would initially have difficulty trusting and respecting each other. However, as time goes by, they would start to see each other for who they are. Brick would see that Blossom is not always Little Miss Perfect and Blossom would see that Brick has some insecurities, which are more often than not hidden in this proud personality. Together, these two can take what primal doubts and insecurities they have and take them in stride, thus helping each other reach their full potential not only physically but psychologically as well. As young adults in their twenties, they and the Greens would even have a double wedding after their youngest siblings’ matrimony and as parents, I can imagine Blossom being the stern, well-meaning, and supportive mom and Brick being the strong, tough, and really loving dad. I really love this pairing because it does show how being in a relationship is not always easy but when two people have patience, trust, respect, allegiance, and understanding anything is possible. Butch/Buttercup or Butchercup- Ah, yes. One of the Takahashi couples to end all Takahashi couples because of their volcanically belligerent sexual tension. They would be the couple who would argue and shout one moment and be cuddly and make love to each other in the next. As I stated before, Ranma and Akane would end up paling in comparison to Butch’s and Buttercup’s brand of belligerent sexual tension.
