The films of Shinya Tsukamoto are among the most intense and frantic, yet simultaneously avant-garde and exhilarating films ever put to celluloid, and Tokyo Fist is where he ultimately brings his kinetic style altogether. It drifts into excessive violence with an artistic direction that shows you a vision of Tokyo that captures a feeling of loneliness and hopelessness, and the main characters’ obsession and their rage swallow them up as a result.
