The RRB x PPG Pairings: From Worst to Best

Greetings, Rowdyruff x Powerpuff shippers from all over the world, it is I your friend Antoni here with another written entry.

I am sure you can tell from the title that I will be ranking the RRB x PPG pairings from the ones that I like the least to the ones I worship the ground on because I am the type of person who would love to start excising all of that nasty bile and make things go out with a splendid bang. I am sure that a lot of you know which ones I am talking about but nevertheless, it is always fun to express my thoughts on these pairings.

Do keep in mind that these are my opinions and you are most welcome to agree and/or disagree. With that said, let us get cracking.

The Worst RRB x PPG Pairings aka The Couples I Can Neither Stand nor Tolerate the Most

For those of you who have followed me already know what I am talking about. I do not care if these are going to cause controversy but I do not care because this is my list and I can do whatever I want. So, what are the two RRB x PPG pairings I abhor the most? Let us find out right now.

Butch x Buttercup aka Butchercup aka The Loud Greens: The RRB x PPG Pairing That Is the Least Likely to Ever Happen Because of Their Toxicity!
Having two aggressive, stubborn hotheads with a lot of emotional constipation loudly shouting, complaining, arguing, grumbling, bickering, and squabbling at each other left and right sounds like a lot of fun, right? Right?….RIGHT?!!!!! No, because it is emotionally and psychologically draining having to endure these two having a row and having a go at each other for, at times, the dumbest and most petty of reasons. I feel like the Greens can do an amazing job ripping my guts out because they will never stop being overcompetitive towards each other, which makes their sham of a “relationship” all the more annoying!

What makes Butchercup so disturbing for me is the fact that these two are a clear-cut example of Karmic Soulmates, meaning they repeat unhealthy patterns, are incredibly hostile towards each other, are extremely irrational, and their “relationship” would be filled to the brim with anxiety, stress, animosity, and unmitigated pain to the point where it becomes borderline abusive.

I think I have made myself clear when I say that as much as I enjoy the Greens as good friends who enjoy kicking any felon’s butt, I am totally done with these two and they clearly deserve better life partners.

Brick x Blossom aka Blossick aka The Prideful Reds: The Most Overrated RRB x PPG Pairing That Peeves the Living Hell out of Me!
Let me make one thing clear. Blossick is not as bad as Butchercup considering that they do have their moments. However, that does not mean that I can still take a piss on the ground BlossSICK walks on. Everywhere I go it’s here a Blossick, there a Blossick, everywhere a Blossick. While I can appreciate the artists who put a lot of hard work and dedication to the fanart and fanfics centering on our red-clad leaders, I can never bring myself to enjoy this particularly overrated, overloved pairing, even though the Reds have the most differences from each other.

My main reason for hating on Blossick is because of how huge Brick’s and Blossom’s egos are. It seems like the Reds walk a fine line between pride and hubris and it is a dangerously thin line at that. It also does not help that they would constantly try to one-up each other and be just as overcompetitive as the Greens but obviously with a lot more pride being thrown in the mix. Trust me when I say that the Reds will never come to a compromise with each other and their massive egos will not only destroy each other from the outside but also the inside. This also does not help that there would be so much unnecessary friction between Brick and Blossom, which would give me a migraine but not as bad as Butchercup’s brand of giving me a migraine.

At the end of the day, the Reds clearly deserve better life partners than each other. I have seen more than enough of Blossick to make me say that I was extremely proud to have abandoned this insanely overrated ship.

The RRB x PPG Pairings That I Like but With Some Condition

All right. So, I have gotten out all of my vehemence against Butchercup and Blossick. I can take comfort that there are two pairings that I like a little bit more than the otherwise unhealthy of the color-coded ships. Here we go.

Boomer x Buttercup aka Boomercup: An Interesting, Cute, Innocent Pairing Where The Roles Are Reversed
I enjoy Boomercup. I really do. This is actually my second most favorite pairing with Buttercup, as it does make an interesting case where Buttercup wears the pants in this relationship with Boomer being the protectively loyal and submissive life partner. While I can see the appeal of it, I do not believe they will end up in a long-term relationship. At least, they can be really good friends and support each other through thick and thin, with Boomer breaking down Buttercup’s walls and Buttercup occasionally helping Boomer better himself and his self-esteem.

Overall, I may have mixed feelings with Boomercup but is still nice enough to make me enjoy their interactions.

Brick x Bubbles aka Brickubbles: Fuzzy Lovability, Sweetness, and Cuteness rolled-up into One Lovely Package
I really like this one a lot more than Boomercup. There is an air of lovability, generosity, and protectiveness that makes me root forB Brickubbles, as I can easily consider this to be the second best color-crack pairing. Brick would be the type of guy who would go out of his way to protect Bubbles from bullies, muggers, murderers, marauders, and many other creeps who would be so brazen to tarnish her. Bubbles would not only be extremely thankful for Brick’s protectiveness but also find a lot of good in Brick, thus helping him be a lot more at peace with himself. While I can enjoy both of them seeing the best in each other and rooting for each other, I do not see them in a long-term relationship. This pairing could work in the context of a high school setting, where Brick is the roguish yet well-rounded popular guy to Bubbles’ preppy ingenue cheerleader with an edge. Nothing more, nothing less.

All in all, I can give credit to Brickubbles for being a really good pairing but I would rather keep the relationship as supportively platonic considering that Brick is the large-and-in-charge older brother-in-law to Bubbles’ ingenue with an edge little sister-in-law.

The Best Rowdyruff x Powerpuff Couples aka My Most Beloved RRB x PPG OTPs of All Time

For all of my veteran watchers, you already know who they are and chances are there will be some slightly changed opinions. Yet, for all my novice watchers, sit in for a spell and take heed because these are the OTP pairings I not only treasure so much but also cherish for everything that they are. Besides, when I talk about my OTPs, I love associating them with flavors.

Boomer x Bubbles aka Boomubbles aka The Lovable Blues: The Greatest Color-Coded Couple Known To Man By Courtesy of Their Sweetness, Adorability, and Loveliness
My sentiments for the color-coded ships have admittedly gone down the drain because of how dull, overrated, boring, overplayed, bland, and tawdry the whole deal with them really is. There is one color-coded ship that I continue to root for and I will continue to cherish. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the sweetness, positive vibes, and sheer loveliness of Boomubbles.

The Blues really hold a special place in my heart because out of all their siblings, their relationship is guaranteed to be the healthiest. However, I cannot overlook that there are times that Boomubbles has a certain plain vanilla taste. At least I can rest assured that this taste is cleansing and refreshing to the palate and does not make me leave the table barfing like Butchercup and/or make me throw the plate away like Blossick.

If you also took a gander at my Boomubbles history timeline, you would automatically realize that, in my headcanon, Boomer and Bubbles begin as childhood sweethearts and have their relationship bloom from there up until being married and having children. Therefore, Boomubbles is a nice example of showing stability in a relationship and that is why I consider this to be the best color-coded pairing ever.

Butch x Blossom aka Blossutch aka The Watermelon Couple: The Greatest Color-Crack Couple Known To Man By Courtesy of Their Balance, Beauty, and Sheer Gorgeousness
I know I am going to hate sounding like a broken record but I freaking love Blossutch. The sheer gorgeousness of a brawny, tough, rough, impulsive bad boy being in an exciting relationship with a poised, elegant, classy, articulate bookworm makes this pairing all the more appealing. At the end of the day, this is the color-crack ship I will love until the end of time because of how The Baron of Berserk and The Commander and The Leader work off of each other and find something surprisingly positive about each other.

Blossutch is essentially finding balance, synergy, and positivity incarnate and they would know how to normalize each other in a way that is helpful, healthy, and fulfilling. Butch would be the type of guy who is unafraid to declare that gorgeous, sexy, smart chicks like Blossom turn him on, while Blossom would find Butch oddly charming and find him to be such an unorthodox gentleman. Therefore, Butch would be tamed by Blossom’s grace, elegance, and savviness and Blossom would be under the protective hands of a wild, super strong, unorthodox gentleman whose heart is in the right place. Never has there been a more phenomenal description of a brawn-and-brain couple such as Blossutch.

For those of you familiar with my Blossutch history timeline, you would know that I see Butch as someone who was so afraid of exposing his softer side to anyone until Blossom came along. That did not stop him from blushing incessantly, as this relationship started off as a crush. From there it took off as a relationship based on trust, healthily rooting for each other, and seeing the best in each other in every single way. Henceforth, I will never ever let go of my most favorite color-crack ship of all time.

Butch x Bubbles aka Butchubbles aka The Toughie Cutie Couple: The Loveliest Yin and Yang Couple Known To Man By Courtesy of the Boundless Amount of Positive Vibes
This should come off as no surprise that the color-clash couples are the best set of Rowdyruff x Powerpuff pairings ever. What better to kick off my top three favorite color-clash couples than this adorable yin and yang couple? Let me just say that I would gladly decree Butchubbles as exceptionally dynamic, warm-heartedly entertaining, and, at the risk of sounding blasé, really cute.

Butchubbles is all about finding balance and positivity on an emotional and psychological level. It is a relationship that shows diversity in personalities and shows how much of a positive impact these two can have on each other. Butch would be unafraid to show his emotions towards Bubbles, thus dropping all of his defenses, and would find peace, serenity, and a healthy synergy with someone as gracious, merciful, and well-meaning such as Bubbles. Bubbles would also be unafraid to show her hardcore side towards Butch, as that is the very facet that makes him all the more aroused at this ingenue with an edge. When it comes to protection, of course, Butch is going to out of his way to shield Bubbles from all forms of harm, thus making her so happy and grateful to have someone as strong, ruggedly handsome, and tough as Butch save her from any fiend. Moreover, Bubbles would even soften and tame Butch’s wild heart with her signature compassion, grace, and lovability.

As a preface to my Butchubbles timeline, I could only imagine that these two would start off as playful childhood sweethearts with Butch constantly blushing at Bubbles who always greets him with an infectious smile. As they grow up, they would become a lot more intimate towards each other to the point where Butch becomes this huge, protective softy when he is with Bubbles akin to Marc-Antony towards Pussyfoot from the Looney Tunes’ classic short “Feed the Kitty”. I can only imagine that their relationship would be blissful and quite fulfilling.

Brick x Buttercup aka Brickercup aka The Hot and Spicy Couple: The Most Awesome Example of a Couple Who Can Find Something Greatly in Common and Look Amazing During Battles
For quite some time, I have hailed Brickercup as the best color-clash ship of all time, mostly because I have found myself being a Blossutch and Boomubbles shipper as well. However, there is one other pairing that would strip that mantle off of this rambunctiously mischievous and tough couple and knock it off its pedestal, which will be unearthed as the final entry of OTPs. Regardless of that, I can still hold Brickercup’s brand of belligerent sexual tension done right close to my heart, mind, and soul.

What is not to love about Brickercup? These two have a lot in common in terms of how tough, rough, courageous, determined, foolhardy, and rambunctious they are. Brick’s brand of being a large-and-in-charge, determined, strong, fierce, tough, and roguish gentleman is a great complement to Buttercup’s rambunctiousness, mischievousness, outspokenness, and independence. Sure, there will be moments of rockiness but when all is said and done, that is what makes Brickercup all the more exciting, as it is part of their dynamics. Moments of disagreement can be resolved with Brick being street smart enough to find the solution and Buttercup would feel inclined to appreciate just how well he can handle anything. Moreover, Buttercup would not mind having her defenses drop in front of Brick, as he knows what to expect from someone as feisty yet captivating such as her. At the end of the day, Brick could not have asked for a better life partner than Buttercup because of how independent, fierce, and fearless she is and Buttercup could not have asked for someone better than Brick because of how cool, strong, fierce, and large-and-in-charge he is.

As mentioned before in the History of Brickercup timeline, Brickercup is a clear-cut example of a couple that begins as a pair of childhood friends, grows into puppy love, and blossoms into full maturity as being in a wonderfully exciting relationship that shows so much spicy synergy.

I bet you are all wondering. What could be better than Brickercup? Which couple dethroned them as not only the best color-clash couple of all time but also the best RuffPuff couple of all time? Who else could it be, ladies and gentlemen? Well, folks, prepare to raise a flag of cobalt blue and pink with a gold crown in the center for this exceptionally healthy couple who show so much soul, so much heart, and so much brilliance.

Boomer x Blossom aka Blossoomer aka The Cotton Candy Couple: The Greatest Color-Clash Couple of All Time As Well As Being the Gold Standard of How Healthy, Genuine, and Earnest A Relationship Can Be
Oh, yes, ladies and gentlemen! In terms of all the color-clash ships, while Butchubbles won the bronze medal for being marvelously flexible, sweet, and adorable in a most delightful way, Brickercup won the silver medal for showing awesomeness, exciting synergy, and spicy brilliance in the most amazing way, I really have to give it up for Blossoomer winning the gold medal and obtaining a trophy for not only the best color-clash couple ever but for also being the best overall Rowdyruff x Powerpuff couple ever! The amount of compassion, genuineness, empathy, positivity, self-sacrifice, warmth, and phenomenal appeal found in Blossoomer is off the charts that I would be remiss if I did not give it the title of being the best Powerpuff Girls couple of all time!

There was something in the back of my mind that made me proclaim to the heavens that Blossoomer sealed the deal for me as an excellent couple. What I have found out from Blossoomer is that Boomer and Blossom are a great example of how empathy, earnestness, compassion, and self-sacrifice can make anyone’s life so much better and that change is healthy, ever-progressing, necessary, and shows so much promise for a better future, therefore making Blossoomer have the most human relationship ever. It also helps that Boomer is my most favorite Rowdyruff Boy and that Blossom is my most favorite Powerpuff Girl, so it was inevitable that these two were clearly meant to be.

The sheer love I have for Blossoomer is not only accredited to the concept of these two souls rooting for each other but also for how their personalities can mesh really well. For instance, even though Boomer is a tremendously athletic combatant by combining Herculean strength with lightning speed and Blossom is a fighter who uses tact, lethal accuracy, and unparalleled perfection, both of them have noticeable quirks that make them not only human and relatable but also fabulous in their own ways. Boomer’s good humor, kindness, sympathy, empathy, and creativity are an exceptional complement to Blossom’s savviness, intuition, diplomacy, independence, and grace. This even gets to the point where they can exceptionally help each other through trying times.

Boomer can help Blossom get over her anxiety of having this burden of being a role model on her and her whole deal of constantly putting herself up on a pedestal by being the simple, good-humored, lovable dumb muscle that he is and remind her that she does not have to worry about everything and even ensuring that she remains humble and gracious yet still keeping that independent spirit. Blossom can be more than capable of ensuring Boomer that he does not have to be so scared of what people think about him and would root for him to be greater than he is. If Blossoomer does not spell relationship goals right there, I do not know what does.

Since I am really itching to make the History of Blossoomer timeline come to fruition, the basic premise would be that Boomer and Blossom would start off as childhood sweethearts and maintain a healthy relationship all the way up to adulthood. More specific details will be given in the artwork itself.

Henceforth, Blossoomer stands tall as the number one greatest Rowdyruff x Powerpuff couple of all time.

From Butch’s and Bubbles’ yin and yang adorability

And finally, to Boomer’s and Blossom’s empathy, kindness, and diplomacy.
Out of all these three, I hail, honor, and hold Blossoomer in such high regard.
