Greetings, Splendid Seven devotees, martial arts aficionados, and fighting video game fans. Antoni here with another written entry focusing on Sesshoumaru, Shuran, Inuyasha, Hakkaku, Ginta, Ayame, and Shunran specialising in the martial arts they do. Today, I will be delving into my seven favourite pairings in martial arts sparring forms. There will be five platonic pairings, two loved pairings, one OTP pairing, and one OT3 pairing.

It is often said that martial arts is not just a question about how the individual throws attacks ranging from strikes to submission holds but also how they can work together as a group mostly of two or three. Whether the relationships are platonic or romantic, whenever two or three warriors band together to deliver some serious blows and/or holds, opponents better defend themselves against their attacks. With that said, let us delve into my nine favourite Splendid Seven pairings in the forms of martial arts spars, in which there are five platonic pairings consisting of three BroTPs and two BroT3s, two romantic pairings I love, one OTP pairing I hold with the highest regard, and one OT3 Pairing I also hold with the highest regard. Osu! Hajime!

Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha (BroTP): Complete Martial Artist Brothers
With a formidably extensive background in Jujitsu, Judo, Karate, Kenpo, Taekwondo, Wrestling, and Boxing, Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha are considered martial arts expert brothers par excellence. This is due to their father, Toga, and their mother, InuKimi, portraying such integral roles in their lives growing up as martial artists and as people. As The Splendid Seven’s most powerfully skilled fighters, every move these two dog Yokai brothers make in their repertory of punches, kicks, strikes, submission holds, takedowns, joint locks, and grapples is guaranteed to place their enemies in a near permanent state of paralysis.

Shuran, Hakkaku, and Ginta (BroT3): Dynamic Attacker Brothers
Shuran may be a predominant grappler, while Hakkaku and Ginta may be predominant strikers and clinchers, but what they can do together as a terrific trio of combatants is completely paralyse their opponents. Before the final bell rings, these three can cause as much collateral damage as possible. This is accomplished by combining Shuran’s submission holds, Hakkaku’s headbutts and elbow strikes, and Ginta’s knee strikes and shin kicks all strong enough to leave their opponents writhing in excruciating pain. Brute strength, quick reflexes, and speedy stamina never looked or felt this amazingly potent yet fatally ruthless.

Sesshoumaru and Shuran (BroTP): Intimidating Grappler Brothers
Powerful foes will neither know peace nor repose when Sesshoumaru and Shuran make their entrance and deliver their lethal brand of capital punishment and brutal execution. Sesshoumaru’s and Shuran’s physically imposing presence demonstrates a dichotomy between the former’s cold deadliness and the latter’s brutal force thanks to Sesshoumaru’s impactfully hard-hitting strikes, grapples, and clinches and Shuran’s terrifyingly brutalising piledrivers, bearhugs, and holds. If it is any wonder why Sesshoumaru and Shuran are considered the most intimidating combatants foes would be foolish enough to mess with.

Inuyasha, Hakkaku, and Ginta (BroT3): Bloody Close-Range Combat Brothers
When Inuyasha, Hakkaku, and Ginta get really close to their opponents with scary grins on their faces and feral snarls, this should already be indicative of the mightily fatal blows they can deliver. Regardless if they are Inuyasha’s double axe handles, Hakkaku’s headbutts or Ginta’s elbow strikes or the vast repertoire of punches, kicks, strikes, takedowns, clinches, grapples, and holds they have in their arsenal, there will be copious amounts of blood that will be spilt thanks to how effectively Inuyasha, Hakkaku, and Ginta use their hands, feet, and bodies as lethal weapons. Together, they are a veritably indestructible force of bloodshed.

Speed, power, accuracy, and timing join together in glorious harmony in the forms of Ayame and Shunran confidently delivering some serious blows to their enemies. Ayame’s great range of uppercuts, jabs, reverse punches, backfists, roundhouse kicks, low kicks, and axe kicks are an exceptional compliment to Shunran’s grand list of butterfly kicks, split kicks, tornado kicks, spinning kicks, spinning backfists, palm strikes, and knife hand strikes. Luring their opponents into their trap is a walk in the park for Ayame and Shunran should they dare underestimate these fiery auburn-haired sisters, and their punishment is swift as lightning.

Sesshoumaru and Ayame (Loved Pairing): Respectful Allegiance Incarnate
Martial arts would not have an established foundation of self-defence and formidability if it were not for the importance of honour, respect, allegiance, courage, and discipline. Fortunately, Sesshoumaru and Ayame embody those principles and more thanks to the strong bond they have together. Sesshoumaru’s lethal use of spear hand strikes and Ayame’s devastating use of uppercuts are strengthened to a high degree because of how profound their combined strengths are, thus seeing them triumph over their enemies. Coupled with their tactful lethalness is their undying willingness to grow as warriors and as people.

Combining Shuran’s boundlessly powerful grapples with Shunran’s fiercely agile strikes makes for a formidable repertoire of combo attacks that could leave their enemies writhing in pain. Physically powerful attacks aside, Shuran and Shunran also embody the importance of cooperation and a good attitude in and out the battlefield. Furthermore, this duo would be always willing to learn from each others’ differences and be appreciative of each other.

They are welcoming of bigger, stronger, faster, and more skilled opponents to test their mettle, for they love to be faced with new challenges. Inuyasha has the muscles, submission holds, uppercuts, jabs, hooks, spinning axe kicks, and headbutts, while Ayame has the speed, elbow strikes, knee strikes, jabs, cross punches, reverse punches, and spinning back kicks to make their enemies shiver in fright. No doubt will Inuyasha and Ayame emerge as the victors.

Hakkaku, Ginta, and Shunran (OT3): Gregariously Gory, Glorious, and Gleeful
Two’s company but three is a whole lot of fun is the motto Hakkaku, Ginta, and Shunran live by, especially since Hakkaku and Ginta love having intimately cuddly moments with their darling panther Yokai princess, and Shunran loves having her two favourite wolf Yokai beaus by her side every single time. Lovable three-way romantic relationship aside, Hakkaku, Ginta, and Shunran can prove themselves to be the fastest, most precise, and most versatile combatants ever by virtue of their elbow strikes, knee strikes, shin kicks, spinning backfists, and headbutts. Speed, timing, cooperation, and courage have solidified their loving bond.
