Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, Blossoomer shippers of all ages, I know I am going to hate sounding like a broken record but this aforementioned ship has officially dethroned Brickercup as not only the greatest color-clash couple of all time but also the best overall RRB x PPG pairing ever! The mere epiphany that I experienced with this couple just hit me. I initially found them cute together but, eventually, I ended up finding more reasons to support this particular couple and finally call myself a hardcore Blossoomer OTP shipper, thus sealing the deal with the color-clash aka mixed color RuffPuff couples as my most beloved OTPs of all time with Blossutch and Boomubbles following suit. For the record, Butchubbles will be the next couple history timeline yet the last one involving the RRB x PPG OTPs. With that said, let us witness how Boomer and Blossom grew from childhood sweethearts to dating in their adolescence to being married in their young adult years to being the happy family they are today. Kindergarten (September 1, 1998) It was the start of a new school year in Pokey Oaks Kindergarten for six-year-old Boomer and five-year-old Blossom. Ever since they first met each other, Boomer had a huge crush on Blossom because of how pretty, intelligent, and fierce she was to the point where he considered her to be the girl of his dreams. Though shy at first, he decided to write a letter to Blossom to kick off the new school year. As the Ruffs’ and Puffs’ respective parents, Mr. Green, Miss Bellum, Professor Utonium, and Miss Keane, dropped them off to Pokey Oaks Kindergarten, Boomer made his move, swallowed his pride, and shyly gave his letter to Blossom. Blossom did not expect this move to come from Boomer but she was thankful for the gesture. The letter itself read, “Dear Blossom, I really like you because you are the prettiest, kindest, and smartest girl I ever met. You are an amazing person and I would love to be there for you every step of the way. I will stay by you, fight for you, and be strong for you. Keep on being the awesome girl that you are. Much love, Boomer” As she finished reading, Boomer gave her a smile and Blossom gave him a hug which he did not expect, as it left him blushing. She responded by saying that Boomer is a strong, kind, loving, and loyal person and she was very grateful for the letter he wrote to her. Ergo, this moment marked the first seeds being planted for Boomer’s and Blossom’s blooming relationship. Grade School (April 12, 2003) It was two weeks before the final fourth grade math exam involving multiplication of three to six-digit numbers and a month before summer break. Nine going on ten-year-old Blossom found herself being the tutor to eleven-year-old Boomer who was initially not that great in mathematics. Remembering everything that Blossom demonstrated to him, he put what he had learned into practice when he had to answer one of the tasks he had trouble on, finding out what was 250 times 242. He immediately found out through doing it step by step that the answer was 60,500. As he showed it to Blossom, she was really proud of him and she knew he was ready to take on the exam. As for the exam itself, Boomer ended up getting a B+ and Straight-A student Blossom was really proud of his achievement. Middle School (July 1, 2005) The summer break before thirteen-year-old Boomer and twelve-year-old Blossom entered the seventh grade, they were in a very special three-week French Music Appreciation summer course where they were able to live out one of their biggest passions and that was singing French chansons. Boomer and Blossom being the Francophiles that they were wanted to not only improve their French but also sing in the language more often because of the many great composers and singers they were inspired by, seeing they were fans of Catherine Deneuve, Charles Aznavour, and Édith Piaf and enjoyed watching French films and listening to French songs. In this summer course, Boomer, Blossom, and many other participants learned about the great French chansonniers such as Jacques Brel, Georges Brassens, Édith Piaf, and Mireille Mathieu as well as the great French composers like Gabriel Fauré, Gustave Charpentier, Claude Debussy, Jules Massenet, and Georges Bizet. I know it is old news for me to be gushing on and on about my most beloved OTPs being Blossoomer, Brickercup, Butchubbles, Blossutch, and Boomubbles but these are the pairings that mean the world to me because of the human qualities I can find even though Brick, Butch, Boomer, Blossom, Buttercup, and Bubbles are deemed as Townsville’s finest superheroes. Moreover, these are the OTP ships that I will never take for granted and never let go because of how much inspiration I can be able to gather from Brick’s and Buttercup’s monogamous relationship to the polygamous relationships of Boomer x Blossom, Butch x Bubbles, Butch x Blossom, and Boomer x Bubbles. However, I am not just saying this as someone who ships Blossoomer, Brickercup, Butchubbles, Blossutch, and Boomubbles with such passion, resilience, ambition, and determination but also as someone who has been completely inspired by my very good friends and fellow artists who share my love for these aforementioned pairings. I am sure you can tell from the title that I will be ranking the RRB x PPG pairings from the ones that I like the least to the ones I worship the ground on because I am the type of person who would love to start excising all of that nasty bile and make things go out with a splendid bang. I am sure that a lot of you know which ones I am talking about but nevertheless, it is always fun to express my thoughts on these pairings. Do keep in mind that these are my opinions and you are most welcome to agree and/or disagree. With that said, let us get cracking.
Introduction Greetings, Blossoomer, Blossutch, Butchubbles, and Boomubbles OTP shippers, it is your old pal Antoni here with another written entry. I am very sure that those of you who have tuned in to my DeviantArt gallery will automatically recognize that I am a hardcore shipper of Blossoomer, Blossutch, Butchubbles, and Boomubbles, therefore keeping Brickercup the monogamous RRB x PPG ship in my Team Xtreme headcanon and making Butch, Boomer, Blossom, and Bubbles polyamorous and eventually polygamous, to the point where Buttercup, Blossom, and Bubbles ended up becoming mothers to sixteen children. The only thing that separates Brickercup from Blossoomer, Blossutch, Butchubbles, and Boomubbles is the fact that Brickercup is strictly monogamous because I can see neither Brick nor Buttercup with anyone else, and that the latter four switch spouses from time to time. Therefore, Butch, Boomer, Blossom, and Bubbles share custody of their children making them the classic case of a blended family. Let us witness how this all came to be one step at a time. How I Solidified Brickercup, Blossutch, and Boomubbles as My RRB x PPG OTPs For Life Like most RRB x PPG shippers, I was a color-coded shipper back when I was quite young being in my early teens, as that was my introduction to the whole phenomenon. However, as I grew into my adult years, I started to realize that Boomubbles was and will always be the color-coded pairing I loved the most. Blossick and Butchercup were starting to lose their flavor before I even knew it to the point where I easily considered Brickercup and Blossutch to be much better alternatives. What made me despise Blossick and Butchercup as couples are not only the monotony, dullness, and blandness found in the color-coded pairings but through re-watching episodes centering on Brick, Butch, Blossom, and Buttercup as well as reading through posts about Karmic Soulmates and the problems that Blossick and Butchercup have as pairings according to other artists and bloggers, I started to completely abandon the Blossick and Butchercup campaign and swiftly headed towards Brickercup and Blossutch territory. It also did not help matters that their overbearing personalities were what made me abhor Blossick and Butchercup with such ferocious intensity. No offense to anyone who continues to ship Blossick and Butchercup as couples but that is just my experience doing the talking. To this day, I could never ever fathom Blossick’s popularity to the point where I would mentally scream every time Blossick appeared when searching for RRB x PPG ships because this couple was extremely overrated and their huge egos, bossy attitudes, and occasional smugness will not have guaranteed them a better and more resolute relationship. As a matter of fact, I managed to see Blossick as one of those pairings that fails so badly because of these two red-clad leaders constantly clashing each other and trying to one-up each other so much that it starts to become repetitive and annoying. The overabundance of Blossick did not even begin to quell my wrath against this particularly over-loved, overrated pairing, as I decided to keep Brick and Blossom as really good friends and comrades-in-arms. As for Butchercup, oh sweet Lord in Heaven, where are the earplugs? Never ever get me started on the loud, stubborn Greens as a couple because they were doomed to fail on the relationship department. All I saw from these two green-clad hotheads were endless aggression, boundless pigheadedness, incessant shouting that would be enough to put nails on a chalkboard to shame, and overcompetitiveness to the point where they could never find any sort of resolution. In short, Butchercup was extremely annoying and my personal solution for these two green hot-heads would be to just platonically ship them as a couple of really great friends who love to kick felons’ butts. Ultimately, I knew that the Reds and the Greens deserved better life partners. It is true that Boomubbles was definitely here to stay because of how their sweetness, lovability, and normality made me want to say yes, yes, and more yes to Boomubbles as my main OTP from the color-coded couples. It was at this point that I also found the best color-clash couple in Brickercup thanks to their spicy intimacy, rambunctiousness, and being a good example of belligerent sexual tension done right and the best color-crack couple in Blossutch thanks to their interesting dynamics, the balance of their personalities, and just how exceptionally well they are able to use their combat strengths to get through any battle. Therefore, the deal was sealed. Brickercup, Blossutch, and Boomubbles were and will always be my main RRB x PPG OTPs for life. Joining the fray of my main OTPs were Mitch x Bunny (Bunnitch) Harry Pitt x Julie Bean (HarJul), and Mr. Green x Miss Bellum (GreenBell), as well as some old favorites like Mike x Robin (Robike), Professor Utonium x Miss Keane (ProfKeane) This got to the point where I made my first set of Blossutch, Brickercup, and Boomubbles children with some help coming from CottonCandyGrl1969 and Misse-the-cat, in which the former drew her Blossutch children to be accepted into my Team Xtreme headcanon and the latter came up with a whole lot more. The overall experience was really fun. However, that did not stop right there. Acknowledging My Full Love for Blossoomer and Butchubbles as My OTPs through KatyGorl and the Many Other Color-Clash Couple Specialists Just when I thought I was extremely content with my main OTPs in the forms of Brickercup, Blossutch, and Boomubbles, especially the latter two, there were a couple of fateful occurrences where my perspective would end up not only changing for the better and more multidimensional but my horizons within Powerpuff Girls shipping would also be broadened, thus making me a lot more blessed to be a part of the Powerpuff Girls community as a whole. Boomer always liked Bubbles’ drawings, how nice she was, and how sweet she was. Bubbles stated that Boomer was really cute, strong, and super nice. After that, they exchanged hugs. In spite of how young they were, this was the first step to Boomer and Bubbles becoming the star-crossed lovers that they were. What better to start off than being childhood sweethearts. Grade School (Summer 2003) It was in summer vacation before starting the fifth grade, when eleven-year-old Boomer and nine-year-old Bubbles were taking a walk in the forest, where they fully affirmed their relationship to each other. At this rate, this was more than just mere puppy love. Boomer and Bubbles came across an oak tree and given the fact that these two were no strangers to romantic films, they thought it would be a nice idea to inscribe their names on that very tree. With the energy flowing from their fingertips, they inscribed their names to show how much they loved each other. This was an affirmation of their relationship and they were proud and happy that this happened. Middle School (September 3, 2005) Starting the seventh grade was a joy for both thirteen-year-old Boomer and eleven-year-old Bubbles considering the fun activities they got to do together in the arts and music department. Boomer and Bubbles got themselves involved in the glee club, the folk music appreciation club, the jazz club, and the fine arts club. This even got to the point where they asked the principal to perform for the opening assembly, which he consented. Boomer was on the guitar, Bubbles was on the bongos, and they opened with an original song welcoming the new school year, which had the students and teachers dancing on their chairs. Their performance was so great that the teachers thought they would make nice additions to the glee and music appreciation clubs. Their colleagues never regretted their presence ever since. Privately, Boomer and Bubbles would even write cute yet admittedly syrupy love songs to sing to each other and even branch out to doing poetry with music. Henceforth, they found out that they can extend their love for each other through music and poetry. High School (October 3, 2009) Throughout their teen years, Boomer and Bubbles proudly proclaimed themselves to be boyfriend and girlfriend. Moreover, I can see neither Brick the Bludgeoner nor Buttercup the Toughest Fighter with anyone else, since these two clearly deserve each other. Ever since I got myself into KatyGorl’s art trade involving her Blossoomer and Butchubbles children, even though I was and will always be a hardcore Blossutch and Boomubbles shipper, I came to the marvelous conclusion that Butch, Boomer, Blossom, and Bubbles end up in a polyamorous relationship. Henceforth, Blossom and Bubbles share husbands and their nights of intimacy go something like this. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, Boomer and Blossom have their nights of consummating their feelings, which is the same case for Butch and Bubbles. Every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, Butch and Blossom have their nights of passion, which is also the same case for Boomer and Bubbles. Then Sunday, all four of them share spouses, which means that Butch gets to make love with both Blossom and Bubbles and Boomer gets to make love with both Blossom and Bubbles. Ergo, the polyamorous relationship involving Butch, Boomer, Blossom, and Bubbles is entirely and legitimately consensual. So, folks, this does make the whole relationship dynamics a lot more interesting than I ever thought of, which really shows my undying loyalty to all of the color-clash RuffPuff couples from Blossoomer to Brickercup to Butchubbles, the best color-crack couple found in Blossutch, and the best color-code couple found in Boomubbles. You are most welcome, dear readers. With that out of the way, let’s go to some couple headcanons. Brick x Buttercup (Brickercup) Brick and Buttercup have been married for eight years and with time they bore sixteen children, thus making them the huge, rambunctious, tough family that they are. Brick is still that large-and-in-charge, determined, roguish gentleman that he is and Buttercup is still that mischievous, outspoken, tough bombshell that she is. At the end of the day, they love each other for it and even in spite of some arguments, which are otherwise minor, they still manage to find themselves back together and have a lot of moments of spicy intimacy. Brick’s strength, determination, roughness, and large-and-in-charge masculinity is certainly a wonderful complement to Buttercup’s rambunctiousness, feistiness, and foolhardiness. Ergo, they could not have asked each other for a better spouse. As parents, Brick always ensures discipline in the household and Buttercup is the parental figure who implements it just as well. Their children look up to Brick because of how strong, tough, and rugged he is, while they look up to Buttercup for how tough, determined, and independent she is. Together, they ensure that their children stay as healthy, vibrant, and strong by doing a lot of physical activities with them. Overall, Brick and Buttercup are completely blessed to have each other in their lives, as they stick to each other like glue. Boomer x Blossom (Blossoomer) and Butch x Blossom (Blossutch) Blossom has been married to Boomer for eight years and has been married to Butch for seven years. Together, she ended up having sixteen children with them, the first eight were with Boomer as the father and the second eight were with Butch as the father, thus taking custody of all of the children she bore with them, at times with Bubbles helping out. Blossom is still that perceptive, cognizant, level-headed beauty, Boomer is still that lovable, adorable, physically strong dumb muscle, and Butch is still that tough, rough, wild, animalistic, badass muscle dude that he is. Greetings, all ye Blossoomer, Brickercup, and Butchubbles fans and shippers, it is your old pal Antoni here with another written entry. You all knew this was coming and, for that, I am very excited to express my thoughts on this particular set of RuffPuff couples that I love so much. Introduction Once upon another time, I would have been a straight-up color-clash Rowdyruff x Powerpuff shipper and I would have been proud of it. Additionally, I would have easily considered the color-coded RuffPuff couples, i.e. Boomubbles, Butchercup and especially Blossick, to be the most overrated, over-loved, overpraised, and over-amassed set of pairings ever to the point of clogging the PPG fandom. Ergo, I would have gone out of my way and stated the color-coded pairings are bland, flavorless, dull, and really boring. As for the color-crack ships, I would have simply tolerated them all, called it a day, and that was it. Granted, there is a little bit more interest found in Blossutch, Brickubbles, and Boomercup, and these are the set of couples that do need a lot more love. However, my feelings for the color-crack couples would have been limited to me saying that they are fine and that is all. Don’t get me wrong. I cherish Boomubbles so much because of how naturally Boomer and Bubbles click as a couple. I really love the interesting interactions Blossutch has in terms of Butch’s and Blossom’s differences and how they play off of each other in a fun way. However, at the end of the day, I have to give it to Blossoomer, Brickercup, and Butchubbles aka The Color-Clash RuffPuff Couples for showing much more exciting dynamics, a lot more soul, and so much stability in any relationship. Whether it is Blossoomer’s brand of genuineness, empathy, and sacrifice, Brickercup’s exciting flair, pizzazz, and synergy in spite of the occasional rockiness, and Butchubbles being living proof that one should not judge a book by its cover, it is clear as night and day that the color-clash RuffPuff pairings seem to guarantee a lot more flavor, dimension, feeling, and interest as opposed to the blandness and one-notedness found in the color-coded RuffPuff pairings. So, after years of assessing, rethinking, and keeping my mind, heart, and soul open to new coupling possibilities, I can safely attest that Blossick annoys me for how overrated it is and Butchercup leaves me drained, thus making me fall out of love with these two “pairings” alongside Mitch Mitchelson x Princess Morbucks for being the pairings I used to like but nowadays find them to be godawful. At least, Boomubbles is not as bad as the former two, which is why I can say that this is my OTP of the color-coded category. Moreover, I can even state that while I think Brickubbles and Boomercup are very cute and sweet, it is Blossutch that manages to trump both of them, hence this particular pairing is my OTP of the color-crack category. Finally, even though I love, cherish, and admire Brickercup to the nth degree, Blossoomer has found itself atop the gold medal standard of the color-clash couples and Butchubbles has stood firmly and shoulder-to-shoulder alongside the other two color-clash couples as my OTPs for life. I can definitely attest that Brickercup is the greatest color-clash RuffPuff pairing ever with Blossoomer coming marginally close to that title. As to be expected, words cannot describe how much time and effort I have been putting to this particular Brickercup timeline, as I could not have done this without a whole lot of inspiration, planning, and just having fun with this concept. With that said, let us delve into how Brick and Buttercup came to be as a couple from their beginnings as childhood friends to the first hints of puppy love to gaining more closeness as teenagers to marriage to their current status as adults. Let us get cracking. Kindergarten (October 24, 1998) Six-year-old Brick and five-year-old Buttercup effectively clicked as friends given how he was highly impressed with Buttercup’s speed punches to the midsection during their first altercation. It was from that moment that he not only found a great friend but also a soulmate. Unlike Blossom who would end up having arguments with Brick based on their egos and their know-it-all attitudes, Bubbles who may be nice, kind, and sweet but has always seen her as a younger sister from another, and Bunny who also had her sweet moments and was and will always be a younger sister from another, Buttercup had her brand of toughness, endurance, and strength that made her stand out in Brick’s eyes. Brick liked the fact that Buttercup was not like other girls who tried so desperately to be pretty, shallow or vain for a guy and was a strong, determined, fearless, rambunctious, and mischievous young lady who was unafraid to speak her mind. Brick and Buttercup not only had a firm friendship with each other but Butch joined along with them. It also helped matters that Mitch clicked exceptionally with Brick and Butch, seeing that he was Buttercup’s best friend for life. Sure, Butch and Buttercup argued, shouted, and grumbled at each other countless times, but whenever she was around Brick, she did not have those problems with Butch and was definitely not agitated in the slightest. In fact, she kind of admired his whole method of taking charge of his brothers and the overall superhero team as the leader and showing that he is the boss, his insurmountable physical strength, and his roguish brand of charisma. This got to the point where some kids teased their relationship of being a couple, but they eventually stopped after Brick and Buttercup gave them the evil eye. One ritual they did as young children was their so-called tattoo battle one week before going trick or treating. The tattoos they got were not real, but they were made with colored markers and coloring pens. Brick always loved to draw dragons on his arm because he believed that they were powerful and, much like Brick, can breathe fire. Buttercup always associated herself with snakes because some of them had poisonous venom. At times, they would wrap up by giving each other a good arm-wrestling match and, ultimately, they would have a good laugh with each other. They could not ask each other for a better friend. Little did they know, it was only the beginning of a flourishing relationship.
