For AmusedDoodler’s OC pairing, Voic x Voice, to work, I had to be able to bring in a certain loving connection that these two have. I have seen some fanart of these two and they are actually lovely to look at, though this pairing kind of reminded me of Blossick, which, in turn, is one of my least favorite RRB/PPG pairings of all time, though I used to like it. Regardless, I have to say that it was rather fun drawing this lovely couple. Enya’s May It Be is one of the most beautiful, haunting, and wonderful songs I have ever had the pleasure I have listening to growing up as a music aficionado. I basically listened to both the original Enya version as well as the Hayley Westenra version and I they are both exceptional in their own ways. I figured that in this picture, I thought that an autumn environment would suit Voic and Voice really well. I had them situated outside an open field, where there are colored leaves and potpourri falling around them like raindrops to add a fairytale-like mood and feel to this picture. Director’s Recut: Update (01/22/2020): I was re-watching the second episode of Nudie Rehab on January 15, so basically about a week ago, and while I think that the episode has for the most part aged very well, there were still a few moments that didn’t. So I’ve decided to revisit this review to create what I like to call a “Director’s Recut” where I’ve removed or re-edited scenes from the video and I’ve also added some new voice over lines as well. The last part is unfortunately somewhat noticeable but I still think that it helped to improve the quality of the review. Keep in mind: Even though I do prefer this “Recut” version over the original cut, I still feel that everyone should be allowed to pick between the two cuts since I don’t see any logical reason to get rid of the original cut. I hope you all enjoy this piece of work I have for you. Man, this has been in the making for the longest time. I have been playing with the idea of putting in the legendary, demonic villain Aku from Samurai Jack, which is pretty much the best Cartoon Network show I have ever seen in my entire life, in my Team Xtreme headcanon. With this character, I also thought it would be fun to add an element of a dark prophecy looming over three of my most favorite characters Butch, Boomer, and Blossom, which in turn is my OT3 for life. When mixing these elements together, something extraordinary popped up from my brain, especially with all of the times I have rewatched and rewatched my most favorite Teen Titans 2003 episodes featuring Slade and eventually Trigon. Those episodes were “Apprentice Parts 1 and 2” with Robin being Slade’s apprentice, “Aftershock Parts 1 and 2” with Terra being Slade’s apprentice, and “Birthmark” and “The End Parts 1, 2, and 3” with Slade having some connection to Raven’s prophecy and featuring the main big bad Trigon. I am very sure you can see where I am going with this. And yes, it is really enjoyable seeing Butch, Boomer, and Blossom go to the dark, diabolical, demonic side. It makes the plot focused on them thicken. Aku is essentially an amalgamation of Slade and Trigon with a hint of Brother Blood, in my Team Xtreme Headcanon. Aku is not as cool and collected as Slade, but he can surely make one crap his pants off when dealing with him. You will not find me shipping Aku with Blossom romantically. Oh, no. He serves as a sort of dark mentor and grandfather figure to Blossom. He has done his fair share of creeping up to her room and giving her ominous symbols nearly placing a curse on her, thus threatening her with her comrades’ lives if she does not join him in the dark side. For Team Xtreme’s Team Mom that is surely a scary thought. I mean having to be in such a bargain with the devil himself just for the sake of her dear comrades could be a most harrowing choice. It also does not help matters that her darlings for life Butch and Boomer are dragged into this, seeing that they love Blossom with every bit of their being. At least for Aku, the more the merrier. So, he gets to appoint The Baron of Berserk, The Fleet Athlete, and The Commander and the Leader to be his apprentices in order to spare the likes of Brick, Buttercup, and Bubbles being slaughtered by the Shogun of Sorrow. Though, he also wants their blood as well when all is said and done. Now, when it comes to Butch, Boomer, and Blossom, I have this to say about them in this scenario. My very first experience with Madama Caballé was when I was ten years old and I was immediately fascinated with her, especially when I first listened to her rendition of Violetta’s Addio del Passato from La Traviata also by Verdi. Throughout time, I was fascinated by the repertoire she embraced from the Bel Canto dramatic coloratura soprano roles of Norma, Maria Stuarda, Anna Bolena, Elisabetta from Roberto Devereux, and Lucrezia Borgia to the full lyric soprano roles of Mimí, Liú, Fiordiligi, and Contessa Almaviva to the spinto soprano roles of Tosca, Leonora di Vargas, Elisabetta from Don Carlo, and Aida to the dramatic roles of Turandot, Sieglinde, and Isolde to her exploits in modern music with Freddie Mercury in the song Barcelona. I have always loved the focus, cleanliness, and purity of her voice whether she sang lyrically or dramatically. There was always something I admired from her and I feel so honored to call myself a devotee of hers. It is a shame I did not meet her in person, but the memories I have of her voice will always be kept in my heart, mind, and soul.
