Mothers and Daughters

This screenshot motivational poster is Pro-Ayame, Pro-Shunran, Pro-Rin, Pro-Shiori, Pro-Satsuki, Pro-Kanna, Pro-InuAya, Pro-GinShun, Pro-SessAyaInu in the OT3 sense, Pro-ShuHakGinShun in the quartet sense, Pro-Ayame x Shunran in the BroTP sense, Pro-Rin x Shiori and Pro-Satsuki x Kanna both in the sisterly cases, and overall Pro-Splendid Seven. So, sit back, relax, and soak in how much of an amazing impact Ayame’s and Shunran’s lovingly sisterly relationship has on their respective daughters, Rin, Shiori, Satsuki, and Kanna.

Take one wolf yokai warrior queen who is the loving wife of two dashing dog yokai warriors and has an extremely intimate, loving, and supportive relationship with the younger brother, one panther yokai warrior mage of flowers who is the dutiful wife of one wolf yokai warrior, the younger sister-in-law of his brother, and the youngest sister of another panther yokai warrior of lightning, and two sets of close sister duos plus a whole lot of love and harmony and you have yourself an exceptional recipe for how integral familial relationships like this can function so beautifully.

If you are not already familiar with my Splendid Seven AU headcanon, you will know that Ayame is in a three-way relationship with both Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha, with Inuyasha and Ayame having a relationship filled to the brim with exciting intimacy and loving compassion, and has a lot of wonderful children with them including Rin and Shiori and that Shunran is in the most loving relationship with Ginta, with Shuran and Hakkaku being totally supportive of their relationship, and also has a lot of loving children including Satsuki and Kanna. Furthermore, Ayame and Shunran are best friends for life who confide, trust, and love each other like sisters do, and their sisterly attributes have been passed down to their respective daughters, Rin and Shiori as well as Satsuki and Kanna.

It should come off as no surprise that Ayame is an exceptionally caring, protective, and encouraging mother to her most beloved daughters, Rin and Shiori. She will do everything in her power to protect them from all harm and raise them to be the strong individuals they ought to be. Through Rin and Shiori, Ayame has learned to develop a sense of compassion and duty, given that Rin’s biological family was murdered before her very eyes by plunderers and that Shiori’s biological mother sacrificed her own life to save her from the tyrannical Taigokumaru. For two girls who were so young, they seemed strong enough to find themselves in Ayame’s valiant and loving hands, especially when they also have fathers to call their own, as Rin is truly close to Sesshoumaru and proudly calls him her beloved father, Shiori is also close to Inuyasha and loves him as her father, and both girls are happy to be in a family consisting of two fathers and one mother, with Inuyasha especially being the super strong, determined, courageous father Rin and Shiori emulate the most. Ayame would even sacrifice her own life to save her daughters from saving Rin from Kouga and his rogue wolves, especially when Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha beat him and his cronies to a bloody pulp, to conquering Taigokumaru and his minions in order to safeguard Shiori from her abusive fate. She also wants the best from Rin and Shiori, thus constantly encouraging them to never give up even when the road gets perilous and training them to be powerful warriors who will fight for solidarity, honor, and unity. Therefore, Ayame’s courage and unconditional love make her all the more aspirational in her daughters’ eyes.

Shunran is the type of mother who does not scrimp on the unconditional love, the boundless encouragement, and the noble sacrifices made to ensure a healthy, happy home life for both Satsuki and Kanna. Being the illusionist, healer, and horticulturist that she is, Shunran constantly ensures that her daughters, Satsuki and Kanna, are sensitized of where important herbs come from, are cognizant of how to heal their family and friends from their wounds, and are aware of how to till the land in order for it to bear fruit and flowers. Through Satsuki and Kanna, Shunran has learned to see the best in her daughters and encourage them to use their talents for the greater good as well as for solidarity. Much like their cousins, Rin and Shiori, Satsuki and Kanna also had to endure loss, with Satsuki losing her family and Kanna being disowned by Naraku after feeling like he has absolutely no use of her and saw her as nothing more than his pawn. After understanding what both Satsuki and Kanna had to go through, Shunran made it her duty to be the mother these two girls needed. Accompanying Shunran in her maternal duties are her most beloved husband Ginta, her enthusiastic older brother-in-law Hakkaku, and her older brother Shuran to make sure Satsuki and Kanna are under one roof full of love, happiness, and support, especially with Ginta as the most lovable father the girls could ever ask for as well as Shuran and Hakkaku being such supportive uncles. Shunran would do an outstanding job in teaching Satsuki and Kanna the vitality of balance in nature and what medicine to use whenever the family is suffering some type of ailment. Therefore, Shunran’s cunning and wisdom are the main attributes that make Shunran a true role model.

It is not solely within their respective families that this sense of unity and unconditional love is present, but also the sisterly bonds present from the two mothers all the way up to their respective daughters.

Ayame and Shunran bear a sisterly relationship based on the former being the courageous older sister figure to the latter’s cunning younger sister figure. There is a lot of reverence on Shunran’s part, considering that she looks up to Ayame thanks to her bravery, strength, determination, and valor on and off the battlefield and appreciates her with all of her being. Because Ayame grew up with a mostly male family, it is also very refreshing to know that Shunran could be the little sister she always wanted and finds so much comfort in the fact that they can confide in each other and support each other with all of their being. They balance each other out in the most phenomenal way and nothing can ever break them apart.

Rin and Shiori are sisters through and through. Despite coming from vastly different backgrounds, they treat each other with unconditional love and camaraderie and they would never leave each other behind. With Rin being slightly older than Shiori, she makes sure that her younger sister is shielded from all harm and peril. It also helps that both girls have older brothers they look up to, especially Dai, Roku, and Kai, and a younger brother they adore in Shinta. Aside from being taught how to fight like the warriors they ought to be by Ayame, they would also make sure that compassion, honor, and respect remain the bedrock traits of their lives, which they live up to with flying colors.

Satsuki and Kanna are sisters who are aware of their opposite mindsets and personalities but are united under one roof based on love, happiness, and security. While Satsuki is the vivacious and fun older sister, Kanna is the taciturn and reflective younger sister. However, that does not stop them from having an unbreakable bond because they will always root for each other and will never abandon one another, even when certain occasions are not in their favor. Overlooking the various healing and horticulture lectures their mother would give them, they would even ensure that unity, sisterhood, and trust shall stay as the hallmarks of their family.

Combining Rin’s and Shiori’s sisterhood with that of Satsuki’s and Kanna’s means that they would become truly unstoppable. Rin, Shiori, Satsuki, and Kanna would have a bond best friends and sisters a like would turn absolutely green with envy. Nothing would ever break them apart and they would be the group of friends who start out as precocious young girls and grow up to be courageous, compassionate, and valiant women who will always fight for what is right and will protect the disenfranchised from all forms of harm and abuse. Therefore, they would easily make their families proud thanks to the integrity they all bear in their beings.

In conclusion, Ayame and Shunran have definitely been phenomenal mothers in their daughters’ lives thanks to their valor, unconditional love, and courage. In turn, Rin, Shiori, Satsuki, and Kanna are proud daughters who have families that they are grateful to be a part of and have a tight sisterly bond nobody can ever break. This is familial goals right here, dear readers, and it will always be that way.

I hope you all enjoyed this and I will see you in the next submission. Take care and stay safe, everybody.
