This is also dedicated to all of the wonderful people who ship Sesshoumaru x Ayame x Inuyasha as their OT3 or both Sesshoumaru x Ayame and Inuyasha x Ayame as their OTPs, Shuran x Hakkaku as their BroTP, and Ginta x Shunran as their OTP. Sit back, relax, and soak in that SessAyaInu strength, power, and beauty, that ShuHak brotherly love, and that GinShun sweetness.
Take two powerful dog yokai warrior brothers and their equally powerful wolf yokai wife who are extremely well-known for their super strength and magnificent combat prowess, two panther Deva siblings, and two wolf yokai brothers, in which the older panther Deva brother has a fantastic friendship with the older wolf yokai brother and the younger wolf yokai brother has a beautiful and charming relationship with the youngest panther Deva sister, and you have a team which can make all of Japan bow to their overall awesomeness and a bond which can never break.
Seated are 39-year-old Sesshoumaru, 37-year-old Inuyasha, and 35-year-old Ayame demonstrating their might, strength, and power thanks to the brothers’ magnificent muscles and their wife’s lean, well-built muscles. While standing up are their best friends/siblings from other mothers 38-year-old Shuran, 37-year-old Hakkaku, 36-year-old Ginta, and 33-year-old Shunran all admiring how super strong and super powerful Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, and Ayame are and being so euphoric to have such powerful warriors as their best friends and surrogate older brothers in Shuran’s, Hakkaku’s, and Ginta’s case and surrogate older sister in Shunran’s case.
My main inspiration for drawing this picture was the screenshot I managed to snag from Epic Meal Time, most specifically their video centering around Squeaky Grease Sandwiches uploaded on June 19, 2012. The shot I definitely loved the most was Harley standing above MusclesGlasses and Furious Pete, who were flexing their bulging biceps, and Harley asks us, the audience, “What are these? Strong guys or something?”.
I figured that making Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, and Ayame wear sunglasses would surely make them a lot more formidable and badass in this modern setting. Coupled with Shuran, Hakkaku, Ginta, and Shuran cheering them on and having their backs demonstrates the unconditional support these three powerful warriors end up receiving and that is a promise.
Moreover, I thought it would be fun to create different shirt colors and word designs for each character.
Sesshoumaru’s says “Lord of the West I”, Inuyasha says “Lord of the West II”, and Ayame’s says “Boss Lady of the West” because, where my AU headcanon is concerned, they are not only the leaders of the Northern Yoro Tribe but also the Western Lands. Therefore, they all have obtained respect from every single noble and vassal of Feudal Era Japan.
Shuran’s says “Big Bro” and Hakkaku’s says “Lil’ Bro” because of the brotherly dynamic they have with each other, with Shuran functioning as the rowdy, big, strong, brutish older brother to Hakkaku’s high-strung, hyperactive, fun-loving younger brother.
If you want to know what Ginta’s and Shunran’s shirts say, they were meant to say “Lover Boy” for Ginta and “Lover Girl” for Shunran because they have been in a long-lasting and really loving relationship with each other ever since they were young.
So, what do Shuran, Hakkaku, Ginta, and Shunran have to say about their badass, bicep-flexing best friends/big siblings from other mothers?
Shuran (referring to Sesshoumaru): I may be bigger and buffer than Sesshoumaru, but look at all that muscle power he has. He is truly one of the strongest men I have ever met.
Hakkaku (also referring to Sesshoumaru): You got that right, man. Sesshoumaru can make a whole army tremble with those biceps of his.
Ginta (referring to Inuyasha): With Inuyasha’s brute strength and mighty muscles, he can crush a whole army of enemies and lead a crowd of warriors to victory.
Shunran (referring to Ayame): Ayame is truly a goddess. She has beauty, agility, and power and she can kick your butts if she has to.
Fabulous. Now, what about Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, and Ayame?
Shuran: Oh, they got something to say.
Hakkaku: Trust us.
Ginta: We are excited as you are.
Shunran: So, for your own listening pleasure, here they are.
(Sesshoumaru flexes his left bicep.)
Sesshoumaru: Cross paths with me and I will smite you with my own power.
(Inuyasha flexes his right bicep.)
Inuyasha: You wanna piece of me? Come and get it because I’m gonna crush all of your bones.
(Ayame flexes her right bicep.)
Ayame: Prepare yourselves for a world of pain if you hurt me, my husbands, and my family.
