Best of My OTPs: Ginta x Shunran

This fan art collage is dedicated to all of my GinShun-shipping friends, fans, and brethren. Moreover, this is also one of my contributions for Red Ribbon Reviewers. So, sit back, relax, and soak in that GinShun gorgeousness, loveliness, and adorability.

This GinShun fan art collage covers the years I have been drawing them ranging from 2018 to 2019. Back then when I was still really young, I used to not have too much an opinion on Ginta and Shunran as characters let alone as a couple. However, that all changed when I was in my mid to late teens when this pairing really started to fascinate me. In fact, I am more than proud to call myself a hardcore Ginta x Shunran shipper to the point where I would love to see a lot more fan-related works revolving around this underrated couple.

Even though I do not draw as much fan art revolving around Ginta x Shunran in comparison to my most favorite and most beloved Inuyasha OTP of all time, Inuyasha x Ayame, I would love to consider this couple more than just the beta couple to Inuyasha and Ayame as the alpha couple but I would also love to consider this to be a great couple in their own special way because of their synergy, lovability, and the stress-free nature of their overall relationship.

Moreover, as much as I love giving Ginta and Shunran their own children, I would love to draw a whole lot more of them because, as I have written in my various journal entries, Ginta and Shunran have a whacking total of fourteen children with Moegi and Ai from “Inuyasha Movie 4: Fire on the Mystic Island” as their eldest adopted daughters and having seven sons in the forms of Tatsuo, Takeru, Minoru, Junichiro, Joichiro, Manabu, and Sentaro and five daughters in the forms of Sakura, Sawako, Sunako, Kokoro, and Katsuho. Yes, in the first picture I made with the GinShun family there was only Minoru, Manabu, Sakura, Kokoro, and Sentaro, with the latter one being the youngest, but ever since then, I have been longing to make an updated version of their family. However, I could not squeeze enough time to commit to that but I hope that this year will be a whole lot more different. When all is said and done, Ginta’s and Shunran’s children a fine legion of lovable, nurturing, loving, strong, and attractive darlings who have a fair amount of cuteness and bite to make them absolutely multidimensional both as fighters and as individuals.

The way I see it, Ginta, Shunran, and their children would be the family who stick by closely together and ensure a lot of synergy, love, happiness, and compassion to be the bedrock of their household. They fight when it is necessary and will protect the weak every single time. Ginta’s and Shunran’s sons would make for fine fist fighters, martial artists, marathon runners, and wrestlers who have well-developed muscles and have inherited Ginta’s cute dimples. Their daughters would be able to inherit their mother’s feistiness, cuteness, and sweetness and her ability to make mirages to distract their enemies. As for their eldest adopted daughters, Moegi and Ai, they will not only end up being the pacifistic nurses of the family but also be just as strong, formidable, and resourceful as their younger siblings.

In my AU headcanon revolving around Ginta and Shunran, they started out as childhood sweethearts with baby Shunran cooing at 3-year-old Ginta when she was born. They were the closest of playmates considering the sweet, innocent bond they had with them playing hide and seek, gathering flowers, climbing trees, swinging through the forest, and generally playing all day and night. Ginta always admired Shunran for her kindness, spunkiness, feistiness, and just how pretty she was. While Shunran always admired Ginta for how hilarious, charming, and how kind-hearted he was to her. Whenever Shunran found herself in danger, Ginta would always go out of his way to rescue her. In turn, every time Ginta gets flustered, Shunran would always use her flower mirage powers to calm him down. Even when they were still very young with Ginta being 12 years old and Shunran being 9 years old, they wanted to be married and have children because they loved each other that much and felt very destined to be together. Big sister Toran was rather happy to know that her youngest sister Shunran found a boy she really, really liked and gave both of them her earnest blessings. With Toran blessing Ginta and Shunran in their wedding as well as Moegi and Ai being welcomed as their daughters, Ginta and Shunran ended up having a wonderfully happy home life.

My wish for this couple is that a lot more fan-related works such as fan art and fanfiction revolving around this rather underrated couple. Ginta and Shunran not only look great together but there is a whole lot of positivity to be found with these two together. I am also going to do my part and ensure that I will be able to draw a lot more fan art of Ginta x Shunran and their darling offspring.

I hope you all enjoyed my GinShun-related fan art collage and I will see you in the next submission. Take care and Happy 2020, everybody.

Ginta and Shunran from Inuyasha belong to Rumiko Takahashi and Sunrise.
