This screenshot collage is dedicated to all of my InuAya-loving friends, fellow artists, fans, and brethren who really love the prospect of Inuyasha and Ayame as an awesome power couple.
Pairing Inuyasha and Ayame up as a power couple has definitely inspired me to concoct my own AU headcanon of them starting off as childhood sweethearts growing into their teen years in a fabulous marriage to being adults with their own beautifully strong family complete with children and grandchildren. The title of them being a power couple was certainly not handed to them on a silver platter, as they went through trials and tribulations to achieve what they need and want and who they are to this very day.
I know I have stated this in previous entries, but I believe it is worth a refresher of how Inuyasha and Ayame came to be as the awesomely loving, powerful, and wonderful couple they have been continuing to be today.
When Ayame was born on September 30, Inuyasha was two going on three years old, as his birthday fell on December 4. During her christening, 4-year-old Sesshoumaru and 2 going on 3-year-old Inuyasha were playing with the newborn Ayame. While Ayame was very smiley and giggly towards little Sesshoumaru, little Inuyasha was very playful towards her, thus making her laugh so boisterously when he was making faces with her and cuddling her. This lovely sight made The Dog General and The Wolf Elder foresee a fantastic future for their progeny, especially where Inuyasha and Ayame were concerned. They knew they were meant to be and blessed them in the name of their ancestors.
By the time Inuyasha was approaching his seventh year in life Ayame was approaching her fourth year in life, their relationship started to blossom. This came to a head when 6 going on 7-year-old Inuyasha was being pursued by demons after being lost in the woods after a sparring session with 8-year-old Sesshoumaru. Just as little Inuyasha was hiding, he heard a whimper somewhere in the tree. Lo and behold, it was Ayame and she was also being pursued but by The Birds of Paradise. Not wanting to be scared anymore, Inuyasha used his fists, feet, fangs, and claws to clobber The Birds of Paradise to shreds. Even when the other demons who pursued him found him, Inuyasha then implemented his amazing strength to also give them the clobbering they deserved as well as produced such a huge roar for someone so little. Ayame lept from the tree and smothered Inuyasha with kisses and hugs, which made his face blush as red as a tomato. Night was almost about to fall and Inuyasha and Ayame had something simple to eat in the form of trout he caught at the river with this claws and roasted the fish in the fire Ayame made. As they were done with their meal, Inuyasha realized it was getting quite late and had to return home to his family. Nevertheless, Inuyasha assured he that he will marry Ayame and will be strong for her, thus swearing it to her by playfully flexing his biceps and cracking her a huge grin, which also made Ayame blush and chuckle so innocently. As a sign of her gratitude, Ayame gave Inuyasha a peck on the cheek and happily ran home. Inuyasha would never forget this moment he had with her.
When Inuyasha celebrated his seventh birthday one snowy day on December 4, he announced to The Dog General, The Dog Lady, Izayoi, and 8-year-old Sesshoumaru that he wanted to train with the Northern Yoro Tribe warriors to become stronger and be the best husband he wanted to be to Ayame. Both The Dog Lady and Izayoi were surprised at his decision. On the other hand, The Dog General and Sesshoumaru were really supportive of Inuyasha’s great decision. Eventually, Inuyasha’s two mothers warmed up to his decision and it was off to The Northern Yoro Tribe to let Inuyasha be trained by The Wolf Elder and his warriors. Not only was it an astoundingly happy reunion between 7-year-old Inuyasha and 4-year-old Ayame, considering how tightly they were hugging each other and how much Ayame was welcoming Inuyasha with some kisses to the cheeks, but it was also a very happy reunion between The Wolf Elder and The Dog General, who were the best of friends ever since they were a lot younger. The Wolf Elder was very indebted to Inuyasha for saving his young granddaughter, Ayame, and he even welcomed him as his grandson-in-law.
Growing up with The Northern Yoro Tribe proved to be exciting for Inuyasha, as he was learning how to hunt for food, wrestle with opponents three to six times his size, and use his impeccable strength to lift boulders and various heavy objects, which also made Ayame cheer Inuyasha on to her little heart’s content. Ayame also did her part in training alongside Inuyasha when it came to running, swimming, diving, and sparring. Furthermore, aside from Inuyasha and Ayame being in a loving relationship, Sesshoumaru even reunited with his younger brother and his admirer, Hakkaku and Ginta became Inuyasha’s best friends, and even Shuran and Shunran joined in this circle of friends, thus completing Inuyasha’s and Ayame’s exciting life while they were still young.
As Inuyasha reached 9 years old and Ayame reached 6 years old, they were in charge of defending their tribe against a huge bear demon. The fight between the demon and the couple was grueling and this got to the point when Inuyasha started to have his eyes glow red and display a more feral feature in his fighting style, thus obliterating the bear demon to shreds. The Wolf Elder also saw this occur and did what he could to make sure his grandson-in-law control his full yokai urges, through channeling his aggressive energy through physical activity such as boxing, wrestling, grappling, kickboxing, and even roaring his lungs out and mental activities such as meditation. This was at this moment where Inuyasha did find a great home for himself with a grandfather-in-law who was supportive of him and someone he would be proud to call his wife. Therefore, Inuyasha embraced his full yokai side when it came to the stripes remaining on his cheeks while keeping under full control through meditation with The Wolf Elder and his fellow wolf yokai warriors. The only occasion where Inuyasha would end up going full yokai would be when he was in grave danger or when he was severely injured.
Three years later, 12-year-old Inuyasha and 9-year-old Ayame continued to be in their lovingly conjugal relationship, but there was one rite of passage he also had to accomplish in order to bring honor to The Northern Yoro Tribe and that was for Inuyasha to retrieve the Goraishi and for Ayame to retrieve the Lightning Shuriken. With Inuyasha and Ayame summoning all their determination, they did battle with The Wolf Guardian and overcame him thanks to their collective strength. Even when Inuyasha went full yokai on The Wolf Guardian, he still showed resilience and ended up obtaining the Goraishi, which propelled all the attacks Inuyasha had when he used his claws. Even Ayame ended up obtaining the Lightning Shuriken, which she could use in order to incapacitate her enemies in a flash. Inuyasha and Ayame proved themselves to be worthy of the title of guardians of The Northern Yoro Tribe. Even Sesshoumaru, Shuran, Hakkaku, Ginta, and Shunran proud of Inuyasha and Ayame of what they have managed to accomplish.
All throughout Inuyasha’s teen years from 13 to 19 years old and Ayame’s pre-teen and mid-teen years from 10 to 16 years old, they grew stronger and stronger all the way and they also received a lot of great help and support from Sesshoumaru, Shuran, Hakkaku, Ginta, and Shunran. Furthermore, Inuyasha’s and Ayame’s affection towards each other went from giving each other pecks on the cheek and on the nose as children to full-on lovemaking and intimacy by the time Inuyasha reached his 18th birthday one winter and when Ayame turned 15 one leafy fall. With their relationship ever-blossoming and their friendship with Sesshoumaru, Shuran, Hakkaku, Ginta, and Shunran being akin to family, they even did battle with such evil forces ranging from a few destructive demons to Naraku who thought he could break up the group dynamics, manipulate his puppets into destroying Sesshoumaru, Shuran, Hakkaku, Inuyasha, Ayame, Ginta, and Shunran, and wanting to deprive Inuyasha and Ayame of their strength even to the point where he was murdering various members of both the Eastern and Northern Yoro Tribes. Unfortunately for him, he was defeated with one fatal swoop from Inuyasha’s Goraishi and Ayame’s Lightning Shuriken to obliterate him for good and avenge their fallen comrades.
Overlooking their teen and young adult years, in which they were filled to the brim of growing their family, especially since Dai, Roku, Kai, Rin, Shiori, and Shinta were adopted by Inuyasha and Ayame, with Sesshoumaru stepping in to help as the second father, and were happy to have older brothers of their own to look up to and younger sisters they could take care of. Throughout their twenties and early thirties, Inuyasha and Ayame were juggling raising their children with protecting their tribe from invaders and fulfilling their duties as The King and Queen of the canine yokai warriors of the Western Lands, the Eastern Yoro Tribe, and the Northern Yoro Tribe. Despite these challenges, they embraced them with every single breath in their bodies and are enjoying the ride. They have also done an impeccable job in ensuring their children grow up to be strong warriors who fight against invaders and help those who are disenfranchised.
Now with Inuyasha approaching 39 years old on December 4 and Ayame approaching 36 on September 30, they continue to be the formidable power couple they have always been and they are just as proud of their children who have grown up to be powerful fighters with their sons ending up as handsomely muscular studs with bodies of iron and loads of fighting spirit and their daughters ending up as courageous warrior women who prove themselves to be just as tough and formidable as their brothers. Furthermore, Inuyasha and Ayame have also been equally grandparents, thus continuing this bloodline of powerful warriors.
In conclusion, from childhood to adulthood, there was no stopping Inuyasha and Ayame from achieving everything they have worked hard for as well as living blessed lives as a loving power couple.
I hope you all enjoyed this and I will see you in the next submission. Take care, stay safe, and never let the love for Inuyasha and Ayame die or go up in smoke, everybody.
