Maximum Matrimonial Suckage to the Extreme

This screenshot demotivational poster is highly, highly, highly Anti-KogAya and Anti-Kouga. On the other hand, there are a few hints of Pro-Ayame, Pro-Sesshoumaru, Pro-Inuyasha, Pro-SessAya, Pro-InuAya, and Pro-SessAyaInu. Sit back, relax, and revel in the usual poisonous and deadly venom I spit and seethe at Kouga’s and Ayame’s major fart of a relationship as well as their hack job farce of a marriage prospect which occurred during Ayame’s debut and the crappy marriage which occurred at the end of Inuyasha: The Final Act.

If there is one failure of a couple which still gets my blood boiling because of how poorly their relationship was handled, it had to be Kouga x Ayame. I made it very clear that I am one of the biggest KogAya haters in the world because of how Ayame was mainly relegated to be nothing more than a love interest to this pathetic Karma Houdini and how her potential as a heroine was wasted just because she was an anime-only character, as well as how Kouga got away scot-free with murder and abdicated his duty of avenging his fallen clansmen yet still ended up gaining Ayame’s hand in marriage and her tribe’s respect as their “new leader”! Moreover, Kouga still had feelings for Kagome and treated her more like a princess than he did towards Ayame. Therefore, Kouga’s and Ayame’s fart, farce, and sham of a relationship would have crumbled so badly in the process!

The one character I continue to feel sorry for is Ayame because she had the potential to be a strong heroine in her own right. However, the writers did not implement her full potential as a reliable ally, which is a major shame on their part, as she only appeared in a grand yet unceremonious total of four episodes which spanned from the original series to The Final Act. Ayame can fight pretty well on her own, but having her paired up with a poor excuse of a wolf yokai warrior who was all bark and no bite, just seemed like I was having a laugh when there could have been other stronger and more formidable suitors for Ayame rather than this piece of weak wolf turd. If you know me, I am always going to be in the firm belief that Ayame does not need to look any further than Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha to be the suitors she needs to make her endeavor to start something phenomenal with. Ergo, she never deserved Kouga in any shape or form.

The mere fact that the staff wrote in Ayame just to give Kouga a love interest and Kagome some competition just shows you how much I cannot stand Rumiko Takahashi’s warped ideas of having love triangles or polygons or whatever, as they seem contrived, annoying, and damnably draining. If anything, I would have loved to flesh out Ayame’s character a lot more than just being a love interest to a weak warrior who got away with murder and only relied on the power of the Shikon Jewel shards to fuel his own strength and speed. Ayame has proven herself to be formidable on her own terms and she can fight really well. However, I would also make it my endeavor to show more dimension to her that she is more than fisticuffs, guts, and glory, as she can be capable of caring for those who are severely hurt and will always stand up for what is right and just.

What about that Lunar Rainbow Promise, huh? Well, that occurred forty-seven episodes after Kouga’s debut episode and I did not find any poignancy or pathos with Ayame’s little story of first love let alone “arranged political marriage” between the Eastern and the Northern Yoro Tribes. The episodes with Ayame were just made to give Kouga a love interest, though he only had faint memories of it just to put it mildly. It also made me realize that Kouga was never a worthy choice of husband for Ayame because of how much of a cheat he was in terms of his “abilities”. The mere fact that Kouga solely relied on the power of the Shikon Jewel shards instead of exercising his own strength and speed just made him a pitiful fighter and a huge weakling. Even when he had moments where his shards were taken, he acted like such a huge, spoiled, whiney poopyface of a bratty baby who got his sweets taken away. Trust me, ladies and gentlemen, I am starting to fume a bit more at this point about this particular thought, and it will be engendered in the next paragraph. Moreover, Kouga is all talk and little to no action. He can brag about his strength and how Inuyasha is inferior to him, but, at the end of the day, Kouga is the one who is truly weak and an absolute coward. This would have been the first set of severe penalty shots Kouga would have ended up accruing in order for Ayame to be properly repulsed at this loser. Seriously, there was nothing Ayame and even the members of her tribe saw in Kouga that made them convinced that he should take her hand in marriage or even be worthy of their respect. By the way, Kouga still wanted to go under Kagome’s mini-skirt and she was still all right with it just because Kouga “changed” for the better. Yeah right!

The biggest nail on the coffin was how Inuyasha: The Final Act implemented Kouga’s and Ayame’s failure of a marriage, as he did not deserve her in the slightest and he did not deserve all the “praise” the clansmen gave to his sorry ass! How is it that a loser like Kouga who got away with murder, talked big about being this Alpha Male warrior when he actually ran away when it got too tough, and was such a huge bully towards Inuyasha still manage to survive when he should have been executed for good and for all? Why he did not end up dead is still way beyond me. Even when he attempted to prove himself with the Goraishi, he still abdicated his duties of wanting to avenge his fallen comrades just because he was deprived of his precious Shikon Jewel shards. He unceremoniously surrendered all while continuing to show tender affections towards Kagome, yet he still obtained Ayame’s hand in marriage. What made him deserve this?! He did nothing to avenge his fallen comrades! He got away with a serious crime! He failed to prove himself! He was a loser! Seriously, all of these crimes should have bitten Kouga right in the ass, neck, and head! Once Ayame and the tribe discover all of Kouga’s crimes, they would have no choice but to banish him and let him die a most horrible death at worst and live a life full of shame, humiliation, and dishonor at best. Ergo, it would have been so satisfying having Kouga being branded as a murderer, a traitor, and a disgrace to all wolf yokai warriors and make him suffer the consequences of his crimes. Ayame clearly deserved a much happier ending than this farce!

Now what about Ayame, you ask? Luckily for her, her fate should never have been tied to that loser by any stretch of the imagination. This is why I am so damn thankful to have created this AU headcanon of Inuyasha and Ayame starting out as childhood sweethearts blessed by her grandfather and his father when they were little babies and grew up to be have the strongest bond ever, thus demonstrating consistency in terms of how much they grew. There is no doubt that Inuyasha and Ayame can and will be strong for each other and I can see them living a long, prosperous, and healthy life as a couple who will always have each others’ backs from sunup to sundown.

As much as I am a major InuAya stan, Ayame with Sesshoumaru would be just as fantastic, especially where Rin is concerned. Given that she would learn from Sesshoumaru how Rin was unmercifully mauled by Kouga and his wolves, this would open Ayame’s eyes and realize that Kouga did something really unforgivable. Therefore, she would do everything in her power to be the best mother she can be to Rin. She would even be of great help to Sesshoumaru in raising Rin and he would be really grateful to Ayame for being the mother that Rin needed in her life. Furthermore, Sesshoumaru would be the type of nobleman who would live by his word and will never waste Ayame’s time with empty flattery because actions speak ten million times louder than words.

As for Kouga, well, he can just go have a date with Kagome on the bastinado. After that, they can jump into a huge cauldron of snake demons hungry for their flesh, skin, and bones. Once that is done and dusted, acid can be poured to the cauldron which would disintegrate the stuffed demon snakes and whatever remains of Kouga and Kagome are left. Therefore, catharsis is justly served.

In conclusion, Ayame should just stop pursuing Kouga because he is everything detestable about being a true yokai warrior. She might as well set her sights on to Sesshoumaru and, especially, to Inuyasha because these dog yokai warrior brothers are going to give Ayame the unconditional love, respect, and honor she deserves the most. As she dumps Kouga’s pathetic ass, she would feel more blessed to serve a purpose as a wonderful life partner to Sesshoumaru, an unconditionally loving wife to Inuyasha, and a protectively caring mother to her children, especially to Rin.

I hope you all enjoyed my usual brand of venom against Kouga’s and Ayame’s fart of a relationship and I will see you in the next submission. Take care, stay safe, and learn from what Ayame had to endure, everybody.

Kouga the Cowardly Karma Houdini and Ayame from Inuyasha belong to Rumiko Takahashi and Sunrise.
