This screenshot motivational poster is highly and I mean highly Pro-Ginta, Pro-Shunran, and Pro-GinShun in the OTP sense. Furthermore, this is my contribution to this year’s Red Ribbon Reviewers’ month. So, sit back, relax, and soak in the sheer gorgeousness, attractiveness, and loveliness of Ginta’s and Shunran’s romantic relationship.
Today, for the duration of Inuvember, I present to you my OTP that I have been loving ever since I was a young adult and that I still cherish to this very day. I am, of course, talking about Ginta x Shunran whose adorability and charm have constantly left me on cloud nine. This is the classic case of two souls coming together to see how much in common they have, acknowledge those attributes, and build up a nice, firm relationship where they will always protect each other and have each others’ best interests at heart.
The way I see Ginta’s and Shunran’s relationship is that it starts off as being childhood friends then progressing to sweethearts to finally ending up in a stably married relationship. For better or for worse, these darlings will stick by each others’ sides until they grow old and grey. It seems that the universe has brought these two loving souls together to flourish and to thrive in harmonious unity.
With that said, here are my top seven reasons for why I love Ginta and Shunran as a loving, loyal couple. Why did I choose seven? Because there are seven characters I care for so much in my Inuyasha AU headcanon and you all know who they are.
1. They radiate with healthy positivity.
There is not one moment where either Ginta and Shunran will ever find themselves in petty arguments. They would understand where the problem is and will use their combined efforts to overcome said problem with a positive mindset. It is not that they choose to ignore the problem because it would be pointless, but rather they do what they can to use their minds to form solutions without resorting to blowing up at each other.
2. They demonstrate the importance of unconditional love.
Ginta loves Shunran for her bubbly attitude, feistiness, and vivacity while Shunran loves Ginta for his consideration, chivalry, and compassion. I could stop there, but that is solely touching the tip of the iceberg. What makes their love unconditional is that they can see each others’ good sides, bad sides, and ugly sides without even flinching. Every strength, every flaw, and every aspect about each other is what they will always acknowledge with thoroughly open arms.
3. They look absolutely gorgeous together.
I always go back to this particular reason for why I ship a character with another. However, in the case of Ginta and Shunran, this is completely legitimate. Ginta’s charmingly lean musculature meshes so magnificently with Shunran’s cuteness and feistily bubbly attitude. Not even the passage of time will ever age them because of who they are on the inside. These two radiate with so much energy and positivity that it is absolutely infectious. Ergo, they are beautiful on the inside as well as on the outside and they perfectly compliment each other.
4. They respect each other for who they are and not what they think they should be.
There is a certain unpretentiousness and authenticity that crystallizes Ginta and Shunran for who they are as individuals and as a couple. They can be themselves when they are with each other and can be truly comfortable in their own skin. Nothing is better or more fulfilling than a sense of satisfaction coming from affirmations of acknowledgement, tolerance, and understanding each other on a profound level.
5. They can surprise each other in exciting ways.
One would never expect Ginta to be chivalrous and protective of his darling Shunran and one would never expect Shunran to have a lot of kindness and gentility towards her dearest Ginta as well as how protective she can be, considering how unafraid she will be at going physical on the perpetrators. However, these two have proved it so well and in spades. Ginta will never allow anyone to harm Shunran and Shunran will always give Ginta her undivided attention and appreciation.
6. They make the most loving of parents.
I can see Ginta and Shunran providing a healthy, secure, functional home for their children where communication is always open, respect is the paramount of their home, and compassion, unconditional love, and trust are a must in order to grow as a person. Furthermore, I can see Ginta and Shunran be parents to mostly girls with a few boys in the family because they would love to see their girls grow up to be independent, free-spirited, compassionate young women who fight for what is right and who can stand upright in the face of adversity and doubt. Their children include Moegi, Satsuki, Sayo, Saki, Kanna, and Ai and they will definitely love and respect their parents with everything they are, thus making their home a happy, healthy, and blessed one.
7. They are healthy relationship goals to the next level.
I blooming mean it, ladies and gentlemen. Everything Ginta and Shunran is defined by is embodied through how much positivity and unconditional love they radiate with. Their bond is utterly unbreakable and no otherworldly force can ever separate them, not even the Grim Reaper himself.
In conclusion, Ginta x Shunran is a ship I am going to sail with until my dying days. Everything about them is not only cute and cuddly but internally beautiful and it makes me feel euphoric, blessed, and great that I have paired them together in all of their beauty.
