This screenshot motivational poster is dedicated to all of my Shuran and Hakkaku-loving friends, fellow artists, fans, and brethren. So, sit back, relax, and revel in their bromantic friendship between a brutish, tough, rough-and-tumble wall of a panther yokai and a fun, jovial, dashing athlete of a wolf yokai.
For those of you who are fully of my Inuyasha AU headcanon involving my version of the main Inu-Gang, you will automatically be aware that Shuran and Hakkaku are not only Inuyasha’s and Ginta’s best friends, Sesshoumaru’s really good friends, and Ayame’s and Shunran’s greatest comrades and friends, but these two bear the tightest and most supportive of friendships, thus having many moments of bromance.
I can confidently say that Shuran and Hakkaku being paired up as best friends might seem odd at first, but considering how well their personalities could mesh, I can get behind this friendship with flying colors. Shuran’s beastly, brutish big guy nature with his brawny biceps, bulging belly, and blazing blitzes is an exceptional compliment to Hakkaku’s hyperactive, high-strung shorty nature with his lean frame, well-shaped muscles, and fine athleticism. Personality-wise, Shuran can bring out the toughness and determination out of Hakkaku and Hakkaku can see a cuddly, caring, protective older brother-like figure in Shuran, thus emitting positivity, understanding, and lovability within each other and also from the outside.
As little children, Shuran would protect Hakkaku from bullies and help him become a lot stronger, while Hakkaku would help Shuran appreciate the simpler, more fun things in their childhoods.
As adolescents, they would help each other become a whole lot stronger thanks to all of the weightlifting, wrestling, muscle comparisons, running, and swimming they would do together.
Even with Shuran married to Ayumi and Hakkaku married to Karan, they continue to treasure their super strong friendship, and this bond has become more ingrained to their children and grandchildren.
Given Shuran’s massive size and imposing figure, he would constantly give a host of noggins to Hakkaku as their means of having fun. Moreover, Hakkaku would even attempt various wrestling moves on Shuran to the point where he would get the hang of taking down someone much bigger than him. Nevertheless, both Shuran and Hakkaku have always enjoyed various forms of weightlifting and muscle-building in order for them to enjoy the spirit of competition and deep friendship.
In conclusion, Shuran’s and Hakkaku’s friendship are just as strong as their muscles. With Shuran being the big brother figure Hakkaku needs and Hakkaku being the kinder of the two, they are a lovely definition of how opposite personalities can attract really well in terms of them being the best of friends.
