Sparring Super Siblings Staying Strong

This screenshot motivational poster is dedicated to all of my friends, fellow artists, fans, and brethren who enjoy Robin’s and Terra’s brand of close-knit camaraderie and sibling-like respect. Sit back, relax, and revel in Robin’s and Terra’s brand of sibling dynamics.

I am totally enamored with Robin’s and Terra’s platonic relationship as good teammates and siblings from other mothers mostly because of how formidable these two are as fighters. If the battle scene in “Aftershock Part 1” is anything to go by, it was Robin’s and Terra’s most intense moment to the point where they were physically on par with each other. Every punch, kick, and grapple made me fully convinced how well these two would pass as siblings with Robin being the responsible, large-and-in-charge, determined yet impulsive older brother to Terra’s plucky, fun-loving, gregarious, respectful yet insecure younger sister.

On the surface, they might be cute as a couple given how Robin has this determination and fierceness and Terra has this pluckiness and bravery which make them strong together. However, it would just end up as admiration and respect both of them have for each other and they would realize that their personalities are too different from each other to go any further in their relationship.

Nevertheless, what brings these two together is how Slade manipulated these two into going to the dark side. While Robin had resolution to fight him off with the help of his friends, Terra was manipulated by him into thinking that her new friends could not be trusted and ultimately took advantage of her. It was only that Terra realized that she can no longer be controlled and fought him off making the ultimate sacrifice to save her friends from erupting lava. Therefore, both of them knew what it was like to be manipulated by a dastardly mastermind, fight him off with all of their will power, and they never forgot that they had their friends to help them get out of the dark.

Considering that Robin is an only child and Terra had an older brother Geoforce who did not appear on the show but in the comics, they can actually find a genuine responsible yet impulsive big brother and plucky yet insecure younger sister type of dynamic in each other.

Robin would use his skills and expertise to help Terra become a much better fighter, ensure that discipline remains a priority for her, and even have training sessions with Chu-Hui in order to help them find balance as fighters and as people. He would even make sure that Terra can confide in him as any good older sibling would, would be Beastboy’s wingman to ensure that they protect each other from all harm, and help her be a whole lot more confident and never underestimate her abilities in the slightest iota.

Terra would remind Robin that there is more to life than just glory, conquest, and domination, as there can be times where she can help him chill out a little bit more and be less highly strung. She would even tell him how much she kind of misses her big brother back in their home planet and how much Robin reminds her a bit like Geoforce in terms of how he protects her from harm and makes sure that she is on the straight and narrow. Therefore, Terra would feel an attachment to Robin as her older brother who knows what is best for her. In terms of Robin’s relationship with Raven, she and Beastboy would always endeavor to ensure that there is a bit of life in their dates in the forms of music and a positive atmosphere.

In conclusion, Robin x Terra is a BroTP I can get behind with flying colors. They knew what it felt like to be manipulated by a malevolent, emotionally abusive father figure, and they knew from the bottom of their hearts that they can always rely on their friends to help them get out of the dark. Hence, it is a constant reminder for them that family does not always have to be related by blood.

I hope you all enjoyed this and I will see you in the next submission. Take care and stay safe, everybody.
