This screenshot collage is dedicated to all of my friends, fellow artists, fans, and brethren who really love to hate Aldrin Pesky from Disney’s The Buzz on Maggie. So, sit back, relax, and revel on how much this jerk jock with nicely shaped biceps became the bane of my existence as an animation fan.
Ah, Aldrin Pesky from The Buzz on Maggie. Ever since I first laid my eyes on this humanoid fly jock as a thirteen-year-old boy staying for two weeks with a host family in Oxford, England for a study program, I knew I was going to have an intense love-hate relationship with this jerkass meathead whose ego is as huge as his bulging biceps. As for The Buzz on Maggie in its entirety, it was enjoyable when I was a young teenager but it is now a combination of a guilty pleasure and a less-than-mediocre show rolled into one.
Every time I saw Aldrin’s smug grin “grace” the small screen as a thirteen and fourteen-year-old boy, I felt like I wanted to morph into a black widow spider in heavy goth attire to not only terrorize the living daylights out of Aldrin by threatening to eat him alive but also the likes of his buddies especially George, Principal Peststrip, and Dawn Swatworthy. In fact, my disdain against Aldrin was what sparked my interest in wanting to be an arts and culture freak and goth ever since I was a teenager because I loved seeing the darkness in certain aspects of life and I wanted my style and clothes to reflect that. I still do to this day.
I still want to bring in some structure of why I love to despise Aldrin Pesky so much. This is mainly attributed to the fact that I have quite a hardcore disdain against jerk jock characters because of how much they think they are better and stronger than the little people, and the fact that they tend to be the teacher’s pet mostly to the principal because of their “hero status”. Seriously, Principal Peststrip worships him as if though he were some god.
Secondly, Aldrin’s smugness, selfishness, and pride sicken me to no end, and I would gladly endeavor to punch and wipe that stupid smirk off of his chiseled face until he bleeds. He thinks he is already perfect because he does not need practice, eh? Well, it just shows you how much that ego of his needs to be taken down a whole peg.
Finally, despite the negative qualities I can find in Aldrin, he is at least entertaining and not too much of an idiotic meathead. He has that charm which I know I am not supposed to like him but there is something infectious about seeing this jerk jock flexing his muscles thinking he is better than everyone else and he knows it. Does that mean there is something aspirational about Aldrin? Absolutely not! At least, he does his best to work hard unlike Maggie who tends to cut corners, is not an angel herself or has little to no plan of what she wants to do to achieve something.
In conclusion, Aldrin’s bulging biceps do not fool me or charm me because his personality is absolutely annoying and his smugness makes me want to smite him every way until Sunday. This egotistical meathead jerk jock is one I am proud to show my loving hate towards him.
