This edited screenshot comic is dedicated to all of my Keewazi, Basuli, and Tarzan-loving friends, fellow artists, fans, and brethren. So, sit back, relax, and soak in Keewazi’s, Basuli’s, and Tarzan’s wonderfully powerful brand of familial love.
If one were to look how warlike, powerful, and proud Keewazi, Basuli, and Tarzan are as jungle warriors, they are extremely capable of being a loving, supportive, compassionate, and close-knit family. Hence, close family ties remain the bedrock of this Waziri family’s life.
Chief Keewazi may have led a life of leadership, glory, power, wisdom, and fortitude but he has always wanted a family to raise so that he can pass his teachings to his offspring. When Kaj arrived as an orphaned leopardman cub, Basuli came into his life after his wife died from childbirth, and Tarzan came into his life after his biological parents were murdered by Sabor during their own wild goose chase with her, he made it his pride and duty to be the father his three sons needed in their lives. He did not care how different Kaj and Tarzan were to his biological son Basuli because all that mattered to him was the love he can give to all three of them. Keewazi can see a protective, fierce, kind, nurturing soul in Kaj even though he does tend to wear a rough, ferocious mask as a means to defend himself and his family, a proud, headstrong, determined, strong, independent warrior in Basuli, and an appreciative, jovial, agile, courageous fighter in Tarzan who is so willing to sacrifice his own life for his family. Ergo, the battles and wars he and his people have won and his duties as the Waziri chief do not come close to the unconditional love he has for his three amazingly powerful sons.
Basuli has the muscles, the super strength, and the determination of ten thousand men, as these are the traits which have made him very popular all throughout the Waziri tribe. His Herculean strength is enough to lead any army to victory and can make any weightlifter either blush or have their faces flush green with envy. Sure, he knows his strength is great, which can lead him to be prideful, but his headstrong personality, selflessness, and understanding can make him an honorable older son and a great older brother to Tarzan. As Tarzan’s older brother, he constantly supports him in his affiliation with animals of all shapes and sizes, loves joining him in many animal-related activities with Mufasa, Simba, and Kaj such as hunting, wrestling, walking and running on all fours, and perfecting their roars. To Tarzan, Basuli is the greatest human older brother he ever had and he is so happy to fight alongside him, Kaj, Simba, Mufasa, Keewazi, Usula, and Kobe. He also loves having Tarzan and Kaj hang out with his best friends Kuwanga, Nomonga, Mawunga, Chowambi, and Mugambi to go swimming, wrestle, lift weights, and engage in Waziri-style bodybuilding posedowns. He is truly the greatest case of strength and sociability incarnate.
Tarzan manages to do an exceptional job of completing this happy, strong, virile family all thanks to being an amazing combination of super strength, animal prowess, lightning speed, and phenomenal combat skills. He paints a picture of complete athleticism, as he loves to compete in wrestling, boxing, and the occasional posedown with his human brother Basuli, his leopardman brother Kaj, his lion brother Simba, his lion father Mufasa, his human best friends Kuwanga, Nomonga, Mawunga, Chowambi, and Mugambi, his volatile friendly rival Muviro, his gorilla friends such as Moyo, Gobu, and Terk, and a lot of his leopard, lion, and panther friends, including his leopard godson. He may be beastly, ferocious, and fierce to poachers and outsiders who dare leech the jungle for its resources, but deep down he is a caring, noble, kind, supportive, and warm-hearted man. He is so blessed to have two amazing older brothers in the forms of Kaj and Basuli, a great father in the form of Chief Keewazi, and two wise grandfathers in the forms of Kobe and Usula because he is with people who can truly admire him for his differences and he can use his strengths to defend his family. When all is said and done, Tarzan is truly proud to be a Waziri warrior and a defender of the jungle with the help of his family.
In conclusion, Keewazi, Basuli, and Tarzan continue to be so blessed to have each other in their lives as a family. Just the mere thought of them being such a close-knit family makes me want to have a go at drawing a family portrait involving them.
Now that we have taken a look at Tarzan and his relationship with his human brother Basuli and his human father Chief Keewazi, tune in a bit later when I delve into Tarzan’s relationship with Kaj the leopardman.
