A Death-Defying Swimming Race

This edited screenshot comic is dedicated to all of my Kaj and Tarzan-loving friends, fellow artists, fans, and brethren. So, sit back, relax, and soak in Kaj’s and Tarzan’s beautifully competitive brand of fraternal love.

If there was one scene from “Tarzan and The Leopard Man Rebellion” that has remained etched in my mind, it has to be the scene where Tarzan was rescuing Kaj the leopard man from the tentacled monster. There was the opportunity for one of Queen La’s leopard men to be reformed and have a semblance of characterization aside from just him standing out because of the color scheme of his clothes, but I wish there could have been more to explore between Kaj’s and Tarzan’s newly affirmed friendship.

So, enter my headcanon involving Tarzan, but not only does he have Basuli as his most favorite older brother, Kaj is also his most beloved eldest brother who is two years older than him in human years. Kaj was a foundling leopard human hybrid cub when Keewazi took him as his own son to be with his own biological son Basuli. By adding Tarzan into the mix, Keewazi has produced one fine and strong family. Basuli and Tarzan may be competitive towards each other in a loving way, but Kaj is just as competitive, fierce, ferocious, and beastly as his younger brothers, especially considering how he loves to compete with Tarzan the most. However, look beyond his ferociousness, and one can see that Kaj is actually a protective, fun-loving, compassionate, caring, kind, warm-hearted leopard man who does care for his father and brothers and is akin to being a giant teddy bear who can give a lot of comfort in hard times.

If there is one activity Kaj and Tarzan love doing ever since they were kids, it would have to be engaging in swimming races. There is usually a twist to their races, as it involves additional obstacles but not of the strong current type. It is more of the tentacled monster type. There is no doubt that Basuli and Tarzan are lucky to have Kaj as their brother and Mufasa and Simba as their lion father and lion brother respectively, as they learned to use their claws and fangs against their enemy. Thanks to their claws, Kaj and Tarzan can be capable of showing that sea monster a thing or two by slashing, gnashing, and biting that thing down.

Overall, there is an element of tough love involving Kaj’s and Tarzan’s relationship as brothers. On the outside, they might seem like they want to mercilessly beat each other up and make each other end up in bruises and gashes, but deep down they appreciate and respect each other, thus becoming the most huggable and lovable pair of brothers ever complete with fangs and claws in the mix.

I hope you all enjoyed this and I will see you in the next submission. Take care and stay safe, everybody.

Kaj, Tarzan, and the screenshot from “Tarzan and The Leopard Man Rebellion” from The Legend of Tarzan belong to Edgar Rice Burroughs and Walt Disney.
