GreenBell: A Wonderfully Offbeat and Quirky Couple

This screenshot motivational poster is dedicated to all of my GreenBell-shipping friends, fans, and brethren. So, sit back, relax, and soak in that GreenBell quirkiness.

On the surface, one might think that Mr. Green being paired up with Ms. Bellum might be very unusual. There might be some truth to it, but when one looks deep down, one can see a lot of heart, soul, kindness, unconditional love, and boundless support from these two wonderful souls consisting of a tall, green-skinned teacher with a heart of gold despite his imposing presence and a gorgeous, intellectual beauty of a secretary who has awesome conscientiousness of not only Townsville but also the world. Therefore, this is not only a charming Beauty and The Beast type of pairing but also a relationship that is based on good vibes, not judging a book by its cover, and oodles of positivity.

To top it all off, I even made the endeavor to make them the biological parents of Brick, Butch, Boomer, and Blitz plus the adoptive parents of Mitch Mitchelson, thus making Brick, Butch, Boomer, and Blitz bear the surname of Green in my AU headcanon. I am fully aware that The Rowdyruff Boys were originally created by Mojo Jojo in Season 1 and revived by HIM in Season 5 while Mitch Mitchelson lives in a trailer park with his grandmother, who does not seem to do or say anything other than just watch television without his biological parents in sight. However, the more I watch “The Rowdyruff Boys”, “The Boys are Back in Town”, and “Custody Battle”, the more I realize that both Mojo Jojo and HIM are not exceptional role models for Brick, Butch, and Boomer in the slightest iota and use them as guns to defeat The Powerpuff Girls once and for all. In fact, there is nothing fatherly about Mojo Jojo when it came to how he treated The Rowdyruff Boys in their debut episode, as he was full of petty hatred, vengeance, and lust for getting even with The Powerpuff Girls when creating them not helping the fact that the prison’s toilet water was a pale imitation of the real Chemical X, which was a loophole in his overall plan. Sure, when the boys thought they defeated the girls, Mojo Jojo acted more like a football coach proud of his scummy team than a real father. As for HIM, the less I can say about how he called The Rowdyruff Boys “brats not doing anything right”, thus making him an absolutely abusive parental figure, the better. Ergo, Mojo Jojo and HIM were never truly involved with The Rowdyruff Boys’ life as creators let alone parental figures, and, in my AU headcanon, it is for the best.

So, why do Mr. Lucius Green and his beloved wife Mrs. Sara Bellum-Green make far more compatible parents to Brick, Butch, Boomer, Blitz, and Mitch as well as the three other children I have for them in the forms of Cody, Darren, and Eric?

Firstly, it all boils down to Mr. Green’s brand of compassion, understanding, kindness, earnestness, loyalty, and protectiveness and Mrs. Bellum-Green’s respect, authority, intellect, intuition, conscientiousness, and cognizance which are all a great source of nourishment for their sons to grow from rambunctious young boys to gallant, loyal, strong men willing to protect anyone from harm. Discipline, sense of duty, responsibility, and compassion are the building blocks Mr. Green and Mrs. Bellum-Green would establish in their home to ensure their sons are in the right direction in their lives not only as heroes but also well-rounded gentlemen willing to be there for their loved ones. Moreover, these great traits would be passed down to their grandchildren.

Secondly, the amount of moral support Mr. Green and Mrs. Bellum-Green would give to Brick, Butch, Boomer, Blitz, Mitch, Cody, Darren, and Eric would be off the charts in the most positive way. Sure, Brick as the designated eldest son and even the fearless leader of Team Xtreme would find himself in a rut, but Mr. Green and Mrs. Bellum-Green would remind him that he is a brave soul who can make a huge difference. They would even give that same amount of support to Butch, Boomer, Blitz, Mitch, Cody, Darren, and Eric in order to remind of their strengths and how they can overcome their weaknesses with everything they have, which brings me to my final reason why I highly believe Mr. Green and Mrs. Bellum-Green truly make amazing parents to The Rowdyruff Boys.

Thirdly, they can see the best in each of their sons. A parent is not a parent if one cannot see the greatness and the uniqueness in each of their children and motivate them to nourish their skills and personalities with loads of growth and development to become better people. As opposed to Mojo Jojo and HIM whose “parenting” skills were reduced to making The Rowdyruff Boys as nothing more than just guns with not so much of a personality other than they are just the gender flipped versions of The Powerpuff Girls and Mitch’s grandma not being there for Mitch, Mr. Green and Mrs. Bellum-Green certainly know how to bring out the best in each of their sons. In their eyes, Brick has determination, fierceness, ambition, and focus which make him a great leader and a protectively loyal soul who is there not only for his brothers but also for his teammates, Butch has super strength, loyalty, toughness, and resilience which make him not only reliable on all the heavy duty work in the house and saving Townsville but also keeping the people he holds dearly safe from all harm, Boomer has good humor, athleticism, kindness, empathy, and understanding which make him see the best in people and be the light and cement who keeps this family unified, Blitz has stamina, speed, competitiveness, and independence which make him all the more determined to keep bettering himself, Mitch has rambunctiousness, fearlessness, and outspokenness to make him stand up for himself, Cody has intellect, composure, and class to bring a sense of decorum to not only the family but also to everyone he meets, Darren has courage, hope, and inspiration to conquer every obstacle, and Eric has a sense of love, duty, and compassion which he always upholds. All of these wonderful traits Mr. Green and Mrs. Bellum-Green can see in their sons will not only make them grow up in a very meaningful way but also remind each of them that with great power comes great responsibility they need to uphold.

To conclude, Mr. Green and Mrs. Bellum-Green, or Lucius and Sara, certainly are a wonderfully underrated and offbeat couple who need a whole lot more love than they already deserve. If you agree that they would make wonderful parents for the likes of Brick, Butch, Boomer, Blitz, and Mitch, please let me know in the comments below. Until then, I will see you all in the next submission. Take care, everybody.
