My idea of Mr. Green, the supernatural-looking substitute teacher in the episode “Substitute Creature” and one of the most underrated side characters in The Powerpuff Girls, being a father figure to the boys came to my head like a flash of lightning, as I firmly believe that his brand of kindness, empathy, grace, and genuine, fatherly love would be of insurmountable benefit in terms of raising Brick, Butch, and Boomer to be the upstanding gentlemen and superheroes that they are today. Moreover, it is really clear who wears the pants in this off-beat yet interesting and loving relationship. Before I became a loyal RRB/PPG shipper what with my main OTPs being Brickercup, Blossutch, Butchubbles, Blossoomer, and Boomubbles, though I used to love Blossick and Butchercup, but now my feelings for these two ships have gone down the drain and will never see the light of day again, I was hardcore Professor Utonium x Miss Keane shipper and that was when I was between seven to eight years old. I still am to this very day to the point where I saw it fit for these two to be a very strong couple to the point where I decided to make Miss Keane, known as Mrs. Keane-Utonium, be the mother to Blossom, Buttercup, Bubbles, and Bunny in accordance to my Team Xtreme headcanon. Moreover, according to the PPG fandom, their first names are John and Sandra, which I decided to keep as well. It literally says something when my feelings for Professor Utonium and Miss Keane as a couple has continued to grow strong to this very day as a twenty-six-year-old adult. What’s not to love about having a firm yet patient and kind scientist pair up with a sympathetic and marvelous teacher who ensures discipline in a fair manner? Besides, ProfKeane, in my opinion, is one of the sweetest and most plausible adult couples of The Powerpuff Girls universe. Yes, their darling daughters and sons-in-law show their lovey-dovey attitudes with their shirts, so why not these parents? By the way, for those of you who do not speak Spanish, Professor Utonium’s shirt is translated as “Sandra is the only woman I need in my life”, while Mrs. Keane-Utonium’s is translated as “John is my only protector”. If this is not true love between my most favorite adult couple of The Powerpuff Girls, I do not know what is. Being a huge fan of Daniela Romo and a good amount of songs, I saw it fit to put in “De Mí Enamórate” as a fine song choice for this couple, considering that both Professor Utonium and Mrs. Keane-Utonium grew up in the eighties. Both of them are leaders of their respective gangs and there could be something about them that makes them all the more intriguing as a couple. When one combines Ace of The Gangreen Gang’s suave, devil-may-care nature to Berserk of The Powerpunk Girl’s hot-headed personality, then you have a pairing that can develop from being a love-hate relationship to something that is really exciting. Moreover, I think not a lot of people ship this and let’s not forget that in my Team Xtreme headcanon, Ace and Berserk are married. By the way, I also did a bit of research on Italian-American slang, so in case you didn’t know what the terms “Maronna mia!” and “Colghioni” mean, the respectively mean, “My God!” and “part of the male anatomy”. Blossom the Commander and the Leader just cannot stand it when any hussy or douchebag get her or his way with her most beloved Butch the Baron of Berserk. Anyone who wants to have her or his way with him will have to come face to face with Blossom and her mad ice powers. Ergo, touch her husband and she will give you an attack in the form of a blizzard that one can never escape from. Where my headcanon is concerned for the Greens Butch and Buttercup, I decided to have a little fun with this. There is no doubt that Butch and Buttercup are Team Xtreme’s muscles and toughest fighters, thus constantly exposing their rough sides to any foe. However, when they are respectively in the company of Blossom and Brick, they act like the most obedient of dogs and sweetest of cinnamon rolls, thus showing their unconditional love, tenderness, and respect to them. Let’s also not forget that they very much outgrew their stubborn attitudes, but they are still rambunctious in their own ways, which in turn is passed down to their children. Brick and Blossom, being the Reds, wear the pants in their respective relationships, thus exuding dominance to their green-clad spouses and tenderness where they need it the most. Brick would always be the one to go out of his way to be the elegant, roguish charmer that he is to soothe Buttercup from her moodiness and temper tantrums. On the flipside, Blossom uses her smarts and unparalleled feminity to give Butch the taming, loving, and admiration he needs, thus making him very grateful to have a goddess of a wife like her in his crazy life. So, there you have it. When you have these red-clad, protective, and kind of possessive commanders and leaders being the dominant life partners to the green-clad, rough and hard on the outside sweet and fluffy on the inside, toughest fighters, you get relationships like Brickercup and Blossutch which are really fun, flexible, and interesting.
