This edited screenshot comic is dedicated to my friends, fellow artists, fans, and brethren who are fans of Souta x Kanna, Sesshoumaru’s fatherly relationship with Kanna, and his support towards Souta as Kanna’s future husband. So, sit back, relax, and soak in how wonderful Sesshoumaru is as a father to his younger adoptive daughter, his support towards Souta as a fighter and her future husband, and that Souta x Kanna adorability.
As I stated many times before, this is my AU headcanon where Sesshoumaru and Kagura have been married for many years, thus taking in Rin and Kanna to be their beloved daughters. What better way to complete his ideal family portrait than seeing Kanna feeling comfortable with her suitor, who has always learned to look beyond the surface and see a young lady who is poised, elegant, classy, and a reflectively savvy old soul.
Even though Souta was 9 years old and Kanna was 7 years old, it was clear that there was an attraction between these two youths, as they always had each others’ backs from dusk until dawn. Every time Kanna was being made fun of or judged on, Souta would go out of his way to tell her detractors to mind their own businesses and leave her alone. Every time Souta needs a confidence boost or wants to let something off his chest, Kanna would always be there to listen to him. It is this display of respect, unconditional love, kindness, and compassion that they have for one another which made their relationship work so well.
Much like Kohaku, Souta was also trained under Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha in the art of combat. This gave Rin and Kanna the perfect opportunity to be completely astounded at their prospective husbands’ combat skills in various martial arts, circuit training, and weightlifting because they know in their hearts that they will not only be well-protected but also fight alongside them and even heal them whenever they get scarred and wounded in battle. In Souta’s case, both Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha were really astounded at how he was able to subdue them and Kohaku in each and every sparring match they had, which he nonchalantly stated that he was learning what Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha were doing.
By the time Souta and Kanna came of age, a double wedding occurred, as they were not the only ones getting married but also Kohaku and Rin. During that double wedding, they ended up receiving Sesshoumaru’s, Kagura’s, Inuyasha’s, and Ayame’s blessings for them to start happy, healthy, and strong families.
As to be expected, Sesshoumaru has remained very pleased to know that both of his daughters chose their suitors very well. Two young men who were full of life, passion, and courage and who would be willing to be attentive to their spouses when it comes to growing a family. Souta was the biggest revelation for him, as he has proven himself to be not only strong, determined, and tough as a fighter but also a perceptive person who is willing to look beyond the surface.
