Ah, Kagome Higurashi. The “main heroine” of Inuyasha, an anime series I have the biggest love-hate relationship with. I was never fond of her even when I was an eleven-year-old fifth grader first tuning in to Inuyasha and I absolutely hated InuKag to this very day. My main reason for hating Inuyasha and Kagome together is the amount of times she used the Beads of Subjugation on him initially for her own protection, but it later ended up becoming nothing more than a tool to control our beloved dog hanyou hero. The fact that she thinks she has dominance over him is disgusting and absolutely abusive.
Speaking of abusive, I am still gnashing my teeth in anger of what happened in the 109th episode of Inuyasha where my hatred of this pairing as well as Kagome’s petty jealousy over the bond he and Kikyou had reached a whole new level and I was only a fourteen-year-old eighth grader when I watched that particular. My friends, that aggravating moment in question was when Kagome gave the sit command to Inuyasha for twenty plus times, even after he expressed concern of whether she is still mad at him or if she was hurt after what happened between Inuyasha’s whole ordeal with not only saving Kikyou but also battling against Suikotsu. The worst part is Miroku, Sango, and Shippou did not even restrain her. Furthermore, do not ever get me started on what happened at the end of “Inuyasha Movie 3: Swords of an Honorable Ruler”, which is my personal favorite of the Inuyasha movies, where she mended the Beads of Subjugation and put them back on Inuyasha after she stated that she trusts him but she does not want him to run away again. Ergo, Kagome was quite the manipulative, low-down shrew.
Here’s another reason that mainly has to do with Kagome as a “heroine”. She could not defend herself for crap even if she was a self-taught archer and the reincarnation of Kikyou. I figured that if Kagome endeavored to train more with the bow and arrow or even more weaponry and not get herself kidnapped every time, she would have been a better heroine. But, no. Even in spite of some moments where she could prove herself with the bow and arrow, she ended up being a damsel in distress almost the entire time.
So, where does Xena attempting to kill this “heroine” fit in with this meme? Well, Xena is a much more fully fleshed-out, powerful, independent, righteous, and awesome heroine than Kagome will ever be. If Xena were to see the many horrid things Kagome did to Inuyasha especially with those Beads of Subjugation, her unnecessary jealousy towards Kikyou, her starting off the whole Shikon Jewel shattering incident, her constant snooping over everyone else’s business, her unwillingness to fight and even to adapt to the Feudal Era way of life, and her stringing along Kouga, who in turn was a Karma Houdini, she would definitely go ballistic. It is completely justifiable as to why on earth our beloved warrior princess from Amphipolis would endeavor to pierce that manipulative, whiny, shrewish jackass in distress’s heart and even lop off her head with her own sword.
Here is a tip for Kagome. She should defend herself without shrieking for Inuyasha or her posse to save her. It is her battle to deal with, she is supposed to be the heroine, and she should be able to stand up for herself. Secondly, she should endeavor to get rid of that jealousy of hers because it could kill her. Finally, she should cease her manipulating because she is not as innocent as she seems, and Xena knows it fully well.
So, my Anti-Kagome friends, enjoy the revelry of Xena attempting to off Kagome with her sword. It is definitely my pleasure of expressing my disdain for this “heroine” and I believe she could do a whole lot better. At least, in my headcanon, she can keep Bankotsu, call it a day, and maybe Xena could give them a one-way ticket to the afterlife by either lopping their heads off as payback for all the lives they have been making miserable whether it is Bankotsu killing for his pleasure or Kagome being a manipulative shrew in distress.
I hope you all enjoyed this and I will see you in the next submission. Take care and stay safe, everybody.
