Hey, everybody. Antoni here with my personal 2019 art summary.
2019 was definitely the year I was doing my hardest to crank up the content in terms of my most beloved OTPs as well as some pairings I really liked. However, it was my OTPs that had to take center stage. Going through all the pieces of fan art I have accomplished so far and choosing twelve which resonated with me by the month they were ordered in was a huge challenge. Nevertheless, I was still really happy I came this far as an artist who specializes in shipping different characters as well as someone who loves to ensure great connections with my fellow artists.
With that said, let us begin.
January: Vivo Per Lei
It was one of the best ways to start off my 2019 with five of my most beloved OTPs from the RRB and PPG universe Brickercup, Butchubbles, Blossoomer, Bunnitch, and Robike. Moreover, this was my final belated Brickercup month submission hosted by one of my greatest friends of all time BrickercupMasterX3. In terms of the title choice, this was from one of my most favorite songs sung by Andrea Bocelli of the same name, as it shows just how close, synergetic, and beautiful each of their relationships is. It literally said a lot when this piece of Brickercup, Butchubbles, Blossoomer, Bunnitch, and Robike fan art still resonates with me because this was the beginning where Butchubbles was really climbing to the top of the OTP scale with Blossoomer standing side-by-side with Brickercup as my most favorite RuffPuff couple of all time.
February: Verranno a Te Sull’Aure
I felt that combining one of my most favorite animated TV show crossover couple, Jack Spicer x Princess Morbucks, with one of my most favorite Bel Canto operas of all time, Gaetano Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor, was a brilliant and enjoyable idea. It could be that Princess Morbucks and her dark red hair bear some typical Scottish external features especially when her hair could be styled in another way. It could also be that I grew up on different productions, recordings, and performances of Lucia di Lammermoor, which have therefore inspired me to commit to style Jack’s and Princess’s costumes in that manner. Nevertheless, the concept itself gave me as much incentive to be entirely committed to create something like this and find the joy, inspiration, and passion to stick to it. On top of that, I have to thank PrincessCallyie for getting me completely hooked onto Prinack, as her fan art made me root for this couple for several years to come.
March: Train Like a Warrior in the Northern Yoro Way
I definitely loved, enjoyed, and expressed so much excitement at the idea of Inuyasha and Ayame being not only a strong, sexy, happily married couple with a fine army of children but also running a tight ship in their home by being fitness coaches in their cave-style gym with Inuyasha’s specialities being weightlifting, bodybuilding, wrestling, boxing, and grappling and Ayame’s specialities being circuit training, track and field, martial arts, and pilates. Grated, the amount of children I have drawn for Inuyasha and Ayame has grown from five to seven to a whopping fourteen children to the point of including Dai and Roku as their adopted sons, giving Masataka and Masaya another brother of the same age in the form of Motomu, giving Kaito another brother of the same age in the form of Kazuhiko, giving Momoko two more sisters in the forms of Makoto and Mikoto, and giving Maya another sister in the form of Minako, but what I managed to accomplish here brought me a lot of joy. With their huge family and warriors who show a lot of loyalty to Inuyasha and Ayame as their leaders, Inuyasha’s muscles, fierceness, raw power, and complete athleticism and Ayame’s strength, agility, athleticism, and independence can give both their children and fellow warriors the incentive to not only gain the strength and physical prowess they need in combat but to also treat their bodies as temples of honor, fortitude, and sheer willpower. Henceforth, I do hope to make a more updated version with Dai, Roku, Motomu, Kazuhiko, Makoto, Mikoto, and Minako, which will be a challenge, and I hope my love for InuAya does not fade away nor the enjoyment I have drawing their beloved now grown-up children and maybe even their grandchildren, as their children are currently married to Ginta’s and Shunran’s children.
April: The History of Blossutch
This month marked the most important month for me, as I was done with my first three A-Level exams and had two more exams to go and I was one of the participants of PowerpuffObsessed’s and RowdyruffPowerpuff45’s annual Butch contest. What better way to have turned in something than a pairing I used to consider as one of my OTPs but is now reduced to being a pairing I still love but is nowhere near the OTP standard anymore, Butch x Blossom aka Blossutch. This also marked the whole “History of…” couple timeline-style fan art, which chronicles how my most favorite couples grew together, at least in my headcanon. I really enjoyed making this timeline involving my most favorite color-crack RuffPuff couple ever because I was able to tap in to Butch’s and Blossom’ personalities, hobbies, insecurities, and aspirations. Even though my love for Blossutch is still there, it has given way to my more devoted, esteemed, and undying love for Butchubbles and Blossoomer. Nevertheless, the whole process of making this timeline was really fun and I was also proud to have accrued some points from PowerpuffObsessed for participating in this contest. I hope to make a “History of Butchubbles” timeline-style fan art hopefully by this week so that I can further solidify my undying love for this pairing. For now, I look back at this Blossutch timeline with much nostalgia because I really did love this color-crack couple back then. However, as I stated before, my perception of Blossutch has changed to this being a very strong first crush scenario with Brickubbles and Boomercup catching up so well yet still end up as first crush scenarios too.
May: The History of Blossoomer
Speaking of Blossoomer, I was completely getting myself into the groove of making this timeline consisting my most favorite RuffPuff let alone Townsville couple of all time, Boomer x Blossom. I knew from the bottom of my heart that Boomer and Blossom with everything they represent as a genuine, loving, and beautiful couple would be able to take center stage in that particular timeline as well as reach the gold-medal standard as to what it feels like being in a healthy relationship. On top of that, I have always seen Boomer and Blossom being the most cultured of the color-clash OTPs, considering how Boomer’s athleticism, musical talents as a singer and guitarist, and lovably goofy dumb muscle personality and Blossom’s eloquence, elegance, style, and intellect made them absolutely perfect for each other. The mere fact that these days I endeavored myself to transform the children I initially created for Blossom with Butch to Boomer being the biological father to these children has made me further solidify my personal undying love for Blossoomer. Moreover, I know I am going to sound like a broken record, but this is a couple I can see growing old together, thus braving every odd and raising a great family with a total of twenty-four children much like the other couples, i.e. Brickercup, Butchubbles, Bunnitch, HarJul, and Robike.
June: Twelve Splendid, Sexy, Superb Couples of All Time
This was one of my most challenging pieces of work I have accomplished so far. Drawing a whopping total of twelve anime couples, seven of which were from Inuyasha and five of which were from various series namely Baki the Grappler, Shootfighter Tekken, Hajime no Ippo, Detective School Q, Ultra Maniac, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Solty Rei, was something I was looking forward to, as it did give me a hit of boundless inspiration to commit to it. Moreover, this was done three days and published two day before I officially graduated from the school I did my A-Levels in and ended up applying to the universities here in Berlin, which ended up being a success because I am currently studying in Humboldt in the double bachelor program in English and Musicology and I am enjoying everything about it. Going back to this drawing consisting of Sesshoumaru x Kagura, Kouga x Sango, Bankotsu x Kagome, Shuran x Ayumi, Hakkaku x Karan, Inuyasha x Ayame, Ginta x Shunran, Baki x Rosé, Ichiro x Rose, Kiibo x Winry, Ippo x Maya, and Kintaro x Solty, the process of committing to this fueled me up with so much drive, determination, grit, and precision to get the job done in the greatest way possible. I am glad to say that I came out of this alive and strong and I look back at this with a huge smile on my face knowing that my passion for these couples will never die. I cannot wait to draw so much more fan art of these couples, write about their relationship dynamics more often, and keep on finding the joy I get from each of them.
July: Jungle Muscle Pride Romance
Thanks to the inspiration I had mainly from Teracles, YANN-X, and 04jh1911, I was able to fully confirm my undying love for Uti x Muviro, Namontack x Basuli, and Kocoum x Tarzan as the sexiest, hunkiest, most gorgeous Disney jungle muscle couples ever! Crossing over characters from Pocahontas with characters from Tarzan may seem a bit unusual, but it worked so well for me and maybe a good number of people. The headcanon I came up with in terms of having Uti, Namontack, and Kocoum being one set of brothers from the Powhatan tribe of Native America and Muviro, Basuli, and Tarzan being another set of brothers from the Waziri tribe of Africa made for a lot of interesting stories and dynamics. This was a way for me to affirm my love and fascination of Disney slash pairings, and I hope to include more fan art of not only Uti x Muviro, Basuli x Namontack, and Kocoum x Tarzan as absolutely handsome muscle couples but also other couples such as Theseus x Chowambi, one of Basuli’s fellow tribesmen in the orange loincloth, Hercules x Mugambi, one of Basuli’s fellow tribesmen in the lime green loincloth, Hylas x Wasimbu, the Waziri messenger who announced Basuli and Tarzan being kidnapped by Ian McTeague and his men, and Waranji, the messenger who announces to Tarzan about Basuli’s wedding though he was initially attacked by him, x George of the Jungle, at least what he looked like in the George of the Jungle 2 animated opening. Supplementing this headcanon would be having Mufasa, Simba, and Kaj join forces with Keewazi, Muviro, Basuli, Chowambi, Mugambi, Tarzan, and George of the Jungle as formidable jungle warriors, especially when Mufasa acts as a second father and Simba acts as the eldest brother to Kaj, Muviro, Basuli, Chowambi, Mugambi, Tarzan, and George of the Jungle.
August: Love is Always Blossoming Anew
This was an art trade I was so happy to participate in with one of my very great friends, PinkPlasticPrincess. During the process of fulfilling my end of the art trade, I was toying around with the idea of Kohaku having great older male role model figures in his life specifically Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru aside from Sango proving herself to be an apt older sister to him and Rin accepting Kagura as her mother and having Ayame be her most favorite aunt. Therefore, Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha have done wonders in turning Kohaku into a badass, muscular fighting machine with Sesshoumaru training him in various martial arts such as Pankration, karate, judo, boxing, kickboxing, and Tae Kwon Do and Inuyasha training him in weightlifting, wrestling, circuit training, building muscle, and roaring as loudly as they could. Meanwhile, Kagura and Ayame have also done their part in turning Rin into an agile, flexible warrior with Kagura training her in dancing with fans, battoujutsu, yoga, and meditation and Ayame training Rin in boxing, kickboxing, and circuit training. Together, Kohaku and Rin have certainly become extremely formidable as fighters while maintaining that loving, endearing relationship they always had growing up. I have been a proud Kohaku x Rin shipper ever since I was thirteen and to this day, I still fancy the pants off of this pairing to the point where I would like to keep on spreading that KohaRin love with everything I have.
September: The Complete Bunnitch Family
Speaking of art trades, this was one that I had with KatyGorl which was for a long time in the making. Gathering ideas and concepts of how the children would look like as well as being immensely inspired by KatyGorl’s gallery containing her Bunnitch sons Benji, Jax, and Mason, I was completely determined to fulfill my end of the art trade. I am proud to say that the results were phenomenal obviously in the most positive way. Granted, ever since the whole situation where I gave Brickercup twenty-four children as well as transformed by twelve Blossutch children and twelve Boomubbles children into the twelve younger Blossoomer children and the twelve younger Butchubbles children, I was extremely compelled to give Bunnitch twelve more children aside from the twelve they had in the photo consisting of Benji, Jax, Mason, Patrick, Quentin, Ramona, Ryan, Pauline, Nicole, Noreen, Noelle, and Nina. I have yet to draw the other twelve Bunnitch children to make this family all the more complete, but the roller-coaster ride I had with fulfilling my end of KatyGorl’s art trade was extremely worth it in the end. I was able to do what I can to make this come to fruition and I am very glad I accomplished this. Moreover, I will never ever let Bunnitch out of my sight, as this ship is really synergetic and awesome in its own wonderful way.
October: Mr. and Mrs. Townsville: Brick and Buttercup
Due to me spending my pre-university holiday in Paris, Bordeaux, and Dresden as well as having to constantly grow my opera reviewing content on YouTube, my participation in KatyGorl’s annual Claim A PPG Pairing Month was sporadic at best. Nevertheless, I kept on moving, kept on grooving, and since it was the awesome BrickercupMasterX3’s birthday, I knew from the bottom of my heart, mind, and soul what I was going to give to her on her very special day. The timing could not have been any better than it was especially since I was spending the last leg of my pre-university holiday in Dresden where I accomplished this piece of work. As I stated before, Brickercup was definitely the couple, who was the trailblazer of bearing a whopping twenty-four children with Butchubbles, Blossoomer, Bunnitch, HarJul, and Robike following suit. Moreover, this was my final straight-up RuffPuff OTP I drew before moving on to the Normie x PPG pairing I absolutely love in the form of Bunnitch and the normie couples of HarJul, Robike, GreenBell, and ProfKeane, thus making my experience drawing these power couples all the more wonderful to witness. As a hardcore Brickercup shipper, I continue to express a lot of pride, joy, and enthusiasm when it came to accomplishing this as a nice birthday gift to one of my greatest friends as well as a person I look up to for heaps of inspiration. And Paula aka BrickercupMasterX3, if you are reading this, this will not be the only Brickercup-related gift I will be giving to you on your birthday. There will be a whole lot more to come, and let us just say that October can no longer wait for me to let that wonderful concept relating to Brickercup blossom to full fruition.
November: Once Upon a Dream
Speaking of Brickercup, my dear BrickercupMasterX3 hosted her annual Brickercup contest, which I was not only euphoric to participate in this but also contribute my prize as an artist to the winners. Lo and behold, after much deliberation and since KatyGorl and I were the only participants, we both won and we were so honored to have participated in her contest. Since I was also doing my part in giving out prizes, KatyGorl requested me to do something Spooksverse-related. The initiative came to me that something relating to Shadow x Suzie would be the perfect gift for one of my greatest friends and inspirations KatyGorl. What better way to combine my most favorite Spooksverse OTP with one of my most favorite fairy tales of all time, which was also adapted into a Disney animated film and Tchaikovsky ballet I enjoyed when I was very young. The idea suddenly popped up into my head and I got cracking to make this come to life with Shadow dressed up as Prince Philip and Suzie dressed up as Princess Aurora. I not only enjoyed making this come to life but KatyGorl also enjoyed how it came out and I was so pleased that I was able to give her the prize that she deserved. Moreover, I was so pleased with how this piece of Shadzie came out and I have KatyGorl to thank for giving me that initiative and push to make me completely inspired to give one of my most favorite Spooksverse couples a good go.
December: The Nutcracker Suite: A Holiday Ballet Treat
Good Heaven, December was certainly the month where I had to crank up the content not only on YouTube but also here on DA, Manic Expression, Team Night Saturn, and Steemit. This was also the month where I participated in JKC16’s and Betty-M’s contests. Out of these two, Betty-M’s contest was the one I truly enjoyed the most, as her OCs were absolutely charming in their own special ways and I was so determined to keep on spreading the love I have for Blossoomer through the children I have created for my most favorite Townsville couple, with special thanks going to Misse-the-cat being my constant collaborator. I have submitted a whopping nine entries in Betty-M’ Christmas and New Year’s Contest, and out of all of the entries, I really loved the one I submitted with Brianna, Blanchefleur, and Blandine the most. This was the one that closed off 2019 with a bang and I was so proud to have done that with this drawing. The scenario I had for each entry may have followed a certain formula with each of Betty-M’s OCs playing caretaker to each of my two Blossoomer children. Sure, the entry with Beast reading Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” to Bartholomew and Brenton did come so close to taking the throne of my most favorite entry I submitted in December 2019. However, I had to give it to this entry with Brianna as Clara, Blanchefleur as a snow fairy, and Blandine as another snow fairy for permeating my love Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, which has always been a holiday treat for me and for a lot of ballet fans, and for being a great drawing to wrap up 2019 with a pirouette, a fouette, and a lot of holiday magic. This even got to the point where I ended up winning a special prize, which was a free commission, thus making me even more grateful than I already am.

I also hope to explore other fandoms I love and draw fan art of my favorite couples and friendships from each of them, as well as accomplish the pending art trades I had for quite some time. Moreover, whenever a fan art-related contest approaches, one can be sure I will take the initiative to enter and do my very best with everything I have. I am going to keep on tackling, endeavoring myself, and staying focused on drawing more fan art of my most beloved OTPs, their children, and men with muscles all head-on and with a lot of gladness in my system
