It is no secret that I am a huge Inuyasha x Ayame partisan, as I have been pairing these two canine yokai warriors ever since I was a teenager. I have made a litany of motivational posters and fan art descriptions stating that this pairing would not have occurred if it were not for the close friendship of Sesshoumaru’s and Inuyasha’s father, Toga the Dog General, and Ayame’s grandfather, The Wolf Elder. I have also made it clear that this pairing could exist if the Wolf Elder and the members of the Northern Yoro Tribe played their part in raising Inuyasha to become a strong, valiant, and courageous warrior as well as Ayame’s husband. I can say with boundless confidence that the Wolf Elder can do wonders for Inuyasha as he grows from childhood rambunctious to adulthood formidability. Therefore, Ayame’s dear old grandfather would raise Inuyasha as his own grandson-in-law and phenomenally do so.
The first evidence of Inuyasha proving himself to be worthy of Ayame’s hand in marriage was when he rescued her from the Birds of Paradise when he was 7 years old and Ayame was 4 years old. Ever since Inuyasha saved Ayame, he swore to her that he would be the strongest warrior ever. Since relocating to the Northern Yoro Tribe, Ayame expressed excitement and joy at the prospect of marrying Inuyasha. The Wolf Elder would really commend Inuyasha for his valiance at rescuing his granddaughter and he welcomes Inuyasha with open paws into the tribe.
Throughout Inuyasha’s childhood, he learned how to hunt, gather, and fish for food, wrestle with the tribesmen especially with those who were bigger than him, and demonstrated his prodigious strength by bench-pressing huge boulders, rescuing the Northern Yoro Tribe from impending perils using his bare hands, bare claws, and bare fists, thus gaining a lot of well-deserved respect from everybody. By gaining the respect of the tribe, he even obtained the mythical Goraishi as well as Ayame’s hand in marriage with the entire tribe celebrating their matrimony.
One fateful day, when Inuyasha turned 8 years old, he had to endure a challenge where he had to fight a huge demonic bear terrorizing the Northern Yoro Tribe. The young warrior fought with all of his strength and might until something transformed in him. Young Inuyasha’s eyes were bloody red with blue irises, his cheeks had purple stripes, and his fangs grew in length and sharpness. Aside from the physical change, his stamina accelerated to the point of completely obliterating the huge bear demon. He let out a triumphantly feral roar and beat his chests, as he went on a rampage. Luckily for the tribe and for Ayame, the Wolf Elder subdued the feral Inuyasha by swiping his paws onto his stomach. Back at the cave, Ayame was still terrified of Inuyasha’s feral state, Inuyasha was still befuddled with this new development, and the Wolf Elder explained that he was experiencing his yokai side taking over him in battle. As the Wolf Elder was expositing all this, he let Inuyasha punch and kick rocks as hard as he can, bench-press a giant boulder, wrestle with a deerskin dummy stuffed with wool, and roar as loudly as he could to release all the tension. All the tension was released and both the Wolf Elder and Inuyasha had a meditation session, where he could channel his energy to something more productive and control his full yokai urges. The Wolf Elder remained vigilant to Inuyasha and made sure that he did not explode by resting with him to the point where Inuyasha remarks how warm, fuzzy, and comforting the Wolf Elder’s fur was almost like a pillow.
The bond between the Wolf Elder and Inuyasha continued to grow in respect, allegiance, compassion, and unconditional love. Inuyasha entered as a hanyou wanting a place in the world, despite having a competitive relationship with his older brother Sesshoumaru, a loving relationship with his two mothers, and a sturdy relationship with his father, and emerged in the Northern Yoro Tribe as a mighty warrior. The Wolf Elder was the firm yet loving grandfather Inuyasha needed in his life and he was so blessed and happy to have had him as a mentor and the most wonderful grandfather-in-law ever. With every bit of encouragement and support the Wolf Elder provided to Inuyasha, Inuyasha kept on growing in courage and the Wolf Elder kept on appreciating his dear grandson-in-law. Even as Inuyasha and Ayame were married with children, the Wolf Elder continued to provide his grandson-in-law and granddaughter with all the blessings and all the love he could ever give. Where Inuyasha and the Wolf Elder are concerned, Inuyasha continues to tend to the Wolf Elder and protect him from all harm as well as show his undying loyalty.
The Wolf Elder has certainly proven himself to be an excellent grandfather figure to Inuyasha. He has always believed in Inuyasha and learned to overlook his hanyou status to see a brave and courageous warrior with the strength of ten million warriors. With a bond based on allegiance, trust, kindness, and compassion, the Wolf Elder is so grateful for Inuyasha’s steadfastness and loyalty and Inuyasha is so grateful for the Wolf Elder’s firm brand of unconditional love. Together, their moments of male bonding demonstrated how close they are and how far thy have come together as grandfather-in-law and grandson-in-law.
I hope you all enjoyed how Inuyasha’s and the Wolf Elder’s brand of male bonding would work and I will see you in the next submission. Take care, stay safe, and never forget to show love to your grandfathers, everybody.
