RobRae and Zutara: Double Date

This double date meme was created by BrenDoesDA2021 and is dedicated to all of the wonderful RobRae and Zutara shippers of the world who have also cherished these two animated couples as their OTPs for life. Sit back, relax, soak in the beautiful genuineness of RobRae and Zutara, and you will even realize that these two couples have lot more in common than you think.

It is commonplace that I have been a Robin x Raven and Zuko x Katara partisan ever since I was a young teenager because of the appeal both of these relationships bear and how much potential there can be for both couples to grow in their respective relationships as well as individually. I initially loved both RobRae and Zutara due to how attractive, elegant, and gorgeous both couples are and I was a frequent viewer of the fan art starring these two couples, especially when the RobRae and Zutara fan art are from very skilled hands and passionate hearts. Nowadays, as an adult, RobRae and Zutara have aged like the finest of wines thanks to their collective complexity and the sheer validation both of them have for each other. This validation correlates nicely to their romantic prospects, how they can thrive together amidst all odds, and will form unbreakable bonds worthy of starting their respective families and seeing their progenies grow up to be valiant souls.

The romance factor invites a sense of fascination, dimension, pathos, and the importance of self-sacrifice within the realms of RobRae and Zutara. RobRae or the pairing between Robin and Raven might appear to be the coupling of a high-strung, high-energy, choleric, courageous leader and a taciturn, sarcastic, intellectual, levelheaded sorceress who is a maven of various dark yet ultimately protective spells. However, when RobRae partisans delve into the gist of Robin’s and Raven’s dynamics, there are elements of respect, allegiance, and acknowledgement of each others’ strengths, troubles, and ugly sides to the point where they will never flinch. Zutara or the pairing between Zuko and Katara might easily be discarded as another troubled bad boy hooking up with the valiant healer girl type of couple who commence as enemies but culminate as lovers. Instead of that tried and tired notion, they did begin the series as enemies, but realized they had more in common than they initially thought and, in Avatar’s final season, the walls of animosity which defined them were broken down, despite Zuko and Katara ending up with completely different life partners, which this move did not serve the overall narrative too well neither for Zuko and Mai as a couple with their relationship fraught with misunderstandings nor for Katara and Aang in which the latter should have overcome his boyhood crush on her and there were even problems with their supposed relationship before the show ended. For both RobRae and Zutara, romance is not found in anything overtly sexual nor overly saccharine but it is found in trust, compassion, understanding, and thoroughly respecting each other as individuals, not as the so-called ideal dream partners.

Interpersonal validation is the most vital building block as to what makes RobRae and Zutara function as a whole. RobRae and Zutara may have a different approach of validating each other, but the outcomes of what it takes to understand one and the other are rewarding. Robin fully acknowledges and respects Raven’s need for privacy, whether she reads her favorite novel, learns her spells, and/or meditates, and does not stoop down to prejudice nor name-calling, thus demonstrating of honor and compassion towards her. Raven may appear taciturn to viewers and characters within Teen Titans, but she is courageous enough to have seen Robin’s best, worst, and ugliest sides all while putting on a straight and serious face as she shows sufficient strength to not give up on him. Zuko’s and Katara’s will to validate each other as human beings might have been extremely complicated and difficult, but after Zuko gave closure to Katara and her arc of vengeance as she confronted Yon Rha, who killed her mother, yet did not want to stoop down to his level of killing him, Zuko gained Katara’s newfound trust and eventual forgiveness. After that arc, all the animosity and sourness which had permeated both Zuko and Katara diminished to the point where he truly validated Katara as a person and vice-versa. Additionally, this aforementioned validation provides Zuko and Katara to face Azula together in the Final Agni Kai. As Azula attempted to pull off a dirty trick on Katara by attempting to shock lightning at her, Zuko spares Katara by letting the lightning be inflicted unto him. Katara proves herself to be a crafty strategist when she lures Azula into the temple, bends water, and chains her to the ground. The last moments of the Final Agni Kai demonstrate that Zuko and Katara have each others’ full trust through thick and thin, through good and bad, and through all odds. When it comes to how Robin x Raven and Zuko x Katara appreciate each other on a deep level, they do so with validation and deep understanding, seeing each others’ best and worst sides without holding back.

Should RobRae and Zutara attend a double date, they would most likely spend it in a nice Asian fusion restaurant with a bit of French influence. Asian fusion because both Teen Titans and Avatar: The Last Airbender are both pieces of anime-influenced of Western Animation which have found themselves airing on Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon respectively during the 2000s. French because of the fine yet bold flavors which can be found in the food and the fact there is some really great wine, considering that, this year, Robin would be 34 years old, Zuko and Raven would be 32 years old, and Katara would be 30 years old, thus making them sufficiently legal to drink. Speaking of sufficiently legal, both Robin and Raven as well as Zuko and Katara are a pair of married couples with lovely children of their own. Robin’s and Raven’s children are capable mages with strong ideals, while Zuko’s and Katara’s children are a fine combination of fire- and waterbenders with hearts of gold. Where the restaurant is concerned, there shall be caviar, champagne, escargot with lemongrass, bouillabaisse, ratatouille, and many other house specialities ideal for a romantic evening. One can rest assured that the topics Robin, Raven, Zuko, and Katara are going to talk about would range from politics to culture to arts to ancient literature to how their family lives have been going. Not only will there be a wonderfully romantic and intimate evening for both couples complete with canoodling, but also two sets of firm friendships for Robin, Zuko, Raven, and Katara.

RobRae and Zutara are relationship goals on an intimate, interpersonal, and truly classy level. The understanding, compassion, and allegiance both couples can display to one another and the classiness that both of them can bear with their tastes in the finer as well as simpler things in life are what define my most beloved OTPs for life from two anime-influenced shows I have been proud to call myself a loyal partisan of.

I hope you all enjoyed this and I will see you in the next submission. Take care, stay safe, and keep on spreading that RobRae and Zutara love, everybody.
