Take one kind, caring, compassionate waterbender girl in Katara, one feisty, charming, lovable panther yokai warrior woman in Shunran, and one valorous, determined, fierce wolf yokai warrior woman in Ayame and you get a fabulous mentorship guaranteed to aid Katara in growing as a complete warrior and as a courageous person. There is no question that Ayame’s physical challenges and Shunran’s craftiness in trickery could do wonders with Katara to combine her waterbending skills with hand-to-hand combat, agility, and demonstrating conscientiousness towards her opponents.
Ayame’s hand-to-hand combat lessons, marathon running sessions, and circuit training periods would ensure that Katara remains in peak physical strength and endurance. Physical prowess aside, it is also their psychological determination and stamina which would also define how vital showing grit in the face of adversity is. Every time Ayame pushes, Katara shall push much harder with extraordinary results. They would even learn to realize that their sense of protection, valorous code of honor, and sheer determination is what will bring them together, thus having Katara consider Ayame as a great teacher and a brave warrior who does not back down from a fight.
Shunran’s illusions, physical agility, and ability to multiply herself would secure Katara’s concentration in order to not waver from her personal goals and fully believe in herself. Conscientiousness, cunningness, and cognizance are the names of the game when it comes to overcoming every trial that comes along Shunran’s and Katara’s ways. There is also a confidence and high self-esteem which Shunran instills in Katara, for they are the traits which solidify Katara’s willpower and unwavering resolve. As a teacher, Shunran would always give an air of positivity to Katara in order for her to never surrender.
Katara would indubitably have a strong bond with both Ayame and Shunran, with Ayame serving as a courageous mother figure and Shunran serving as a fun-loving auntie figure. However, it is not only Ayame and Shunran who would be constantly encouraging to Katara, but also Ayame’s darling husbands, Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha, and Shunran’s sweet husband, Ginta. Sesshoumaru would see a resilient soul in Katara, thus challenging her to keep striving to be stronger as a warrior and as a person. Inuyasha would enjoy all the sparring matches he would have with Katara, thus seeing her as the daughter he would also love to have. Ginta would also have a lot of fun hanging out with Katara and consider her to be his best friend forever.
Since Ayame and Shunran are also mothers, Ayame’s daughters, who include Rin and Shiori, and Shunran’s daughters, who include Satsuki and Kanna, would even bond with Katara as their older sister from another mother. With all of the lessons Katara has learned from Ayame and Shunran, she would also implement her healing techniques and her waterbending skills to aid Rin, Shiori, Satsuki, and Kanna grow in beauty, strength, and determination. Out of all of them, Rin and Shiori would consider Katara to be the kindest and most compassionate older sister figure ever and would aspire to be like her.
What would this also mean for Zuko? Well, since Katara has learnt a lot from Ayame and Shunran, found additional encouragement from Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, and Ginta, and find exceptional sisterhood in Rin, Shiori, Satsuki, and Kanna, he would be very supportive of Katara and absolutely astounded at her heightened strength, improved focus, and accelerated agility. Thanks to Ayame’s and Shunran’s intense training, Katara’s senses would be more honed and Zuko could feel free to cheer his lady on. He would even be so proud of Katara for continuing to grow as a valorous warrior and would be just as proud of Ayame and Shunran for inspiring her to be more than she is. Perhaps, Zuko could learn a whole lot from Ayame and Shunran.
In conclusion, Katara’s training with Ayame and Shunran spells win-win all around. With Katara passionately and dedicatedly learning so much from these two yokai warrior women, she would definitely grow in grace, beauty, strength, and sheer determination as well as have a great bond with them which will last for ages.
