This screenshot demotivational poster is highly, highly, highly Anti-Miroku, Anti-Kouga, Anti-Sango, Anti-Kagome, but Pro-MirSan and Pro-KogKag in a very perverse way. Furthermore, this is my contribution to this year’s Red Ribbon Reviewers’ month.
I have a question for you all. Was there anybody you at first did not mind when you were younger, but as you got older, you have witnessed just how horrible they turned out to be? Would you have wanted to wish ill on them because of how intrinsically loathsome they turned out to be? Would you have also wanted to see their heads on a platter or, better yet, on pikes? For me, those horrid wastes of space were engendered in Miroku, Kouga, Sango, and Kagome, four Inuyasha characters I used to not mind when I was a lot younger, but coming into my adolescence, even though I tried to like them, I found out just how horrible they truly were. As a grown-up, those sentiments of how I feel about Miroku, Kouga, Sango, and Kagome have increased to undeniably visceral hatred. Yes, I said it. These four are much worse than Naraku by a long-shot.
I know that Naraku is the main villain and I am supposed to hate him. However, because of his tactics, manipulation, sliminess, and ruthlessness, his otherwise negative qualities made him really memorable in my eyes and he did his best to make everyone around him miserable like the egotistical, greedy, manipulative monster he was. Ergo, he was the true definition of how much I loved to loathe him.
Miroku, Kouga, Sango, and Kagome on the other hand, as you all saw in my previous screenshot demotivational posters and memes, are unintentionally unlikable at best and truly loathsome, disgusting, juvenile, and atrocious as individuals at worst. Shippou also qualifies very well in that category, but for the purpose of this essay, these four poor excuses of allies shall take center stage and you are all cordially invited to throw various paraphernalia, half-eaten food, and other disgusting items to Miroku, Kouga, Sango, and Kagome. You are most welcome.
This is what happens when you combine an unintentionally unlikable serial rapist, a murderer who got away with his crime totally scot-free, a pitiful sheep of a follower, and a horribly bratty manipulator into a blender and grind them to something finer yet more putrid. You get the most insufferable pieces of toxic waste the universe has ever seen. There was a good reason why I mainly watched Inuyasha for him, Sesshoumaru, Ayame, Shuran, Hakkaku, Ginta, Shunran, Kuranosuke, Toran, Ayumi, Dai, Roku, Kai, Rin, Shiori, and Shinta among other characters I enjoyed from this series. It was mainly because I did not care for Kagome’s whole fart of a relationship with Inuyasha let alone care about how much dominance and control she thought she had over him. I did not care for how fake Miroku, Sango, and Shippou turned out to be as Inuyasha’s poor excuses of friends. Furthermore, I did not care that Kouga ended up starting a pitiful love triangle between him, Kagome, and Inuyasha because he has proven himself to be a cowardly bully. It sickened me as a youth to see these miserable excuses of characters grace the screen with their incompetence and their idiocy. There was nothing to root for back then and there is still nothing to root for to this very day.
I do not need to reiterate just how hypocritical Miroku and Sango truly are. Yes, they were both traumatized by Naraku, but when it came to empathizing with Inuyasha, they never understood how much Kikyou meant to him. They forget that he is a dog hanyou and dogs are known to be man’s best friend, hence Kikyou was one of the first human beings who acknowledged him as an individual. There was also a good reason why I call Miroku, Sango, and Shippou The Dunderhead Family and that all boils down to their hypocrisy, incompetence, and falsehood. They just sit back and let Inuyasha have a beating from Kagome and do nothing to control her. Screw them all!
Going to Miroku, I cannot empathize with how much this womanizer tried to get his Prince Albert into the many women he has been seeing. Yet, he also had the nerve to believe that Inuyasha has been unfaithful to Kagome, when they were not even in a relationship at the time? Who’s the two-timer around here? And his “son” Shippou is not any better, as he is following in his “father’s” footsteps. Speaking of which, he even asked a tween girl, Koharu, if she wanted to bear his children, which spelled absolute wrongness. Ergo, Miroku is an inwardly pathetic excuse of a monk who is unclean and impure all the way through.
Sango had a lot of potential to be someone I wanted to look up to. However, as much as I enjoyed her skills, the fact remains that she is extremely overrated. I get that she is a strong, capable, formidable fighter. However, it says something when the likes of Midoriko, Kikyou, Lady Kanade, Ayame, Toran, Karan, and Shunran are just as formidable as she is. The mantle she has for being the “best girl” is seriously overrating her. This also boils down to how equally incompetent she turned out to be. Seriously, being easily manipulated by Naraku to first attempt to kill Inuyasha and then try to kill Rin in order to save Miroku just showed me how weak she was in the head.
Kouga was horrid from the very start. If I were any sane person, I say that his inconceivably unforgivable deeds deserve death, destruction, and loads of woe betide him to the grave. After the crime committed unto Rin and the other villagers, not proving himself as a worthy warrior, and mainly relying on the powers of the Shikon Jewel without exercising his own powers have made him only worthy of disgrace and dishonor. If I had it my way, I would gladly have him quartered and hacked for good and for all.
Kagome remains as the most insufferable creature I have had the displeasure of watching. Just seeing her squeal around the screen, acting like such a pathetic damsel in distress, and lacking the mere willpower to truly stand up for herself was enough to convince me that her only talents were conniving her posse as well as manipulating others around her. Her futile hind deserves none of my praise and all of my rage, destruction, and ire because of how much pain she has inflicted on Inuyasha with those horrid sit commands and those equally awful Beads of Subjugation.
I want to end this tirade by saying this. If there are people I want to run over and over again with a semite truck, they would have to be Miroku, Kouga, Sango, and Kagome. Miroku and Sango were hypocrites. Kouga was a murdering bully. Kagome was a vile manipulator. What more can be said about them? As soon as I am done running them over, I would gladly get a hatchet, detach their heads, and put them on pikes as a warning to anyone who dares behave like a hypocrite, a Karma Houdini, a coward, and/or a manipulator. If you feel like wanting their heads on pikes, by all means, do tell me because it would be really satisfying to have these miserable creatures suffer a fate much worse than death.
