This piece of Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, Ayame, Shuran, Hakkaku, Ginta, Shunran, Ichise, Ran, Kiba, and Cheza fan art, which is part of this year’s Inuvember submissions, is dedicated to Regalore and Mn27 who celebrated their birthdays yesterday. So, I hope you had magnificent birthdays, I wish you a lot of love, joy, and prosperity in your lives as artists and as people, and I hope you had a blessed Thanksgiving as well as an equally eventful Black Friday, despite the ongoing pandemic. There is also a lot of Sesshoumaru x Ayame x Inuyasha in the OT3 sense, Shuran x Hakkaku in the BroTP sense, and Ginta x Shunran, Ichise x Ran, and Kiba x Cheza all in the OTP sense as well as Sesshoumaru, Shuran, Hakkaku, Inuyasha, Ginta, Ayame, and Shunran aka The Splendid Seven being absolutely great friends with Ichise, Kiba, Ran, and Cheza. Furthermore, this is my contribution for this year’s Red Ribbon Reviewers’ Month.
This Inuvember submission reminds us all that if you are willing to look beyond the less than rosy origins of Thanksgiving as well as the rampant consumerist commercialism of Black Friday, Thanksgiving can be celebrated as a holiday where family and friends can get together and make all the walls of doubt, distrust, and animosity go tumbling down. This is something that Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, Ayame, Shuran, Hakkaku, Ginta, and Shunran are doing with their best friends Ichise, Ran, Kiba, and Cheza. It also says something when two couples from different anime series such as Ichise and Ran from Texhnolyze and Kiba and Cheza from Wolf’s Rain feel like they can be part of that Splendid Seven family.
On the top row, we have 39-year-old Sesshoumaru, his 37-year-old younger brother Inuyasha, and their 35-year-old wife Ayame being the absolutely loving throuple they are.
On the middle row, we have 38-year-old Shuran, 37-year-old Hakkaku, 36-year-old Ginta, and 33-year-old Shunran. These four are just as tight as a family, given that Shuran and Shunran are loving siblings, Hakkaku and Ginta are supportive brothers, Shuran and Hakkaku are the closest of friends, and Ginta and Shunran are the most endearing couple.
On the bottom row, we have 36-year-old Ichise, his 31-year-old wife Ran, 35-year-old Kiba, and his 30-year-old wife Cheza being solemnly down-to-earth as a pair of genuine, authentic, and warm couples.
Though they all have families of their own, they have all united to celebrate the true meaning of Thanksgiving and that is being thankful for their family and friends for sticking by each other.
On a personal level, I have been growing up with Inuyasha, Texhnolyze, and Wolf’s Rain ever since I was in my pre-teen years. These three anime series, which I have caught on Animax, Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim, and online, signified so much to me not only because they and many other anime series were the catalyst of making me transition to loving the art and craft of how anime was made, but it was also because of the appeal each of them had, with Inuyasha having a nostalgic one thanks to its cast of characters I either loved, felt indifferent to or absolutely hated from the bottom of my heart, Texhnolyze having a qualitative one thanks to its usage of atmosphere and truly captivating writing, and Wolf’s Rain having an aesthetically magnificent one thanks to its usage of beautiful backgrounds and eye-popping visuals to compliment the dark fairy tale it was happy to tell me. As you can tell, out of all the characters I loved from these shows, I loved Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, Ayame, Shuran, Hakkaku, Ginta, Shunran, Ichise, Ran, Kiba, and Cheza the most. When I was younger, I used to love them because they bore that cool, interesting, and fascinating factor about them that made me tune in for a lot more. Growing up with them made me comprehend how flawed yet relatable and human they can be from Sesshoumaru starting off as this ambitiously determined soul who wanted to be stronger and wanted to battle those who were stronger than him and growing subtle compassion towards Rin to Cheza’s overall purity, kindness, and innocence. I could go on and on in terms of how much Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, Ayame, Shuran, Hakkaku, Ginta, Shunran, Ichise, Ran, Kiba, and Cheza meant to me growing up, but I would be here all day. Suffice it to say, I looked up to them when I was a young lad and I am really happy to have followed their respective journeys, regardless of how long or how short they were.
I hope you all enjoyed this and I will see you in the next submission. Take care, stay safe, and have a blessed Thanksgiving month, everybody.
