This screenshot demotivational poster is mega highly Anti-InuKag to the max. If you like this pairing, please take what I say with a grain of salt. As for all of my InuKag and Kagome-hating friends, fellow artists, fans, and brethren, sit back, relax, and revel in the evisceration I have in store for one of my biggest NOTPs of all time.
As promised, I have come to discuss what makes this pairing suck all types of balls when it comes to the utter failure of InuKag and that is their complete and utter lack of trust they have for one another, especially where Kagome and the Beads of Subjugation is concerned.
It is common knowledge that the Beads of Subjugation were meant as a means to protect Kikyou and eventually Kagome from Inuyasha causing any form of harm or mischief. However, when Kagome continued to use those accursed beads, she used them for petty means as well as to show her overall dominance over Inuyasha. Even when Inuyasha justifiably wanted to beat up Kouga after the horrid, unforgivable deed he did to Rin and the villagers, he still got unfairly sat on by Kagome. Moreover, when it came to Kikyou, she used the Beads of Subjugation for selfish and envious means, as she did not comprehend how deep the trauma Inuyasha felt not only when he failed to protect her but when he realized to late that Naraku manipulated both of them in betraying each other.
What about the whole time Inuyasha was unfairly branded as a two-timer? There is something called psychological trauma which he had because of all the crap he had to go through growing up as someone not wanted by either humans or yokai as well as the tragic loss he had when it came to Kikyou due to him feeling like he failed to protect her from all harm. Kagome could have empathized with him rather than constantly playing the victim in order to make Miroku, Sango, and Shippou root for her and chide Inuyasha. Instead, all that made Kagome a lame life partner to Inuyasha was her being such a manipulative shrew and using her posse as a means to make her like the special snowflake she thought she was.
To further drive home the lack of trust Inuyasha and Kagome had for each other, what about those moments in Episode 37, Episode 38, Episode 47, Episode 48, Episode 109, Movie 1, Movie 2, Movie 3, and even the last shot of Inuyasha: The Final Act which still made my blood boil to high heaven?
Episode 37 saw Kagome helping her kidnapper Kouga target which of the Birds of Paradise had the Shikon Jewel shards. After that ordeal, with Kouga being severely hurt in the arm, Kagome was there to help him, with Inuyasha rightfully wanting to finish off Kouga with a few punches. Unfortunately, Kagome sat him, and after all that, Kagome was defensive in her feelings for Kouga, despite the atrocity he did two episodes prior.
Episode 38 might have made Kagome realize that Inuyasha was in the right, but if I were them, I would have just called off our fart of a connection just right there.
Episodes 47 and 48 witnessed both Inuyasha and Kagome in yet another argument due to Inuyasha’s feelings for Kikyou causing Kagome to have a huge pity party. Oh, cry me a freaking river, Kagome, you clearly did not deserve Inuyasha in the slightest. And for that matter, why don’t you just tell Miroku, Sango, Shippou, and Kaede to sod off? This whole thing was your mess and you are supposed to be the heroine.
Episode 109 saw Kagome telling Inuyasha to look after Kikyou. However, during and after Inuyasha’s fight with Suikotsu, Kagome got all mopey. Inuyasha just wanted to see if Kagome was all right, but she refused to respond until they had a heart-to-heart talk. Kagome stated that she was not furious at Inuyasha until she interrogated him about why he wanted to pick a fight with her. Then, the unthinkable happened, and that was Kagome sitting Inuyasha for 20 plus times. Boy, did that moment infuriate me so much to the point where I wanted to jump at the screen and tear Kagome limb from limb.
Movie 1 saw Inuyasha being more excited for Kagome’s ramen and pickled radish causing her to unfairly sit him. So much for that being called Affections Touching Across Time.
Movie 2 could have seen Inuyasha and Kagome fully affirming their relationship after that kiss she gave to him to stop his full yokai transformation. Unfortunately, they went back to their old ways.
Movie 3 was what filled me with ire, as Kagome repaired the Beads of Subjugation, despite her stating that she trusts him. Her actions and the subtext certainly suggest otherwise.
As for the end of Inuyasha: The Final Act, I am still appalled that Inuyasha still has those horrid Beads of Subjugation on his collar, which means that Kagome still does not trust him, despite the growth he went through as a character.
To say that I am not impressed by InuKag and the lack of trust this particular lame-ass couple has is a mere understatement. The lack of trust Inuyasha and Kagome have for each other really makes me loathe, abhor, vomit poisoned blood, spit deadly venom, and go in a vertigo of despair at the sight of this poor excuse of a couple. I would rather read the entire Spanish Inquisition than deal with Inuyasha’s and Kagome’s constant emotional drainage.
I hope you all enjoy my evisceration of InuKag and I will see you in the next submission. Take care and stay safe, everybody.
Inuyasha and Kagome from Inuyasha belong to Rumiko Takahashi and Sunrise.
