This screenshot motivational poster is dedicated to all of my Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, and Ayame-loving friends, fellow artists, fans, and brethren. Sit back, relax, and revel in how these three canine warriors managed to find an extremely special place in my heart and as a Sesshoumaru x Ayame, Inuyasha x Ayame, and Sesshoumaru x Ayame x Inuyasha shipper.
All of my experiences with Inuyasha trace back to when I was an eleven-year-old boy visiting some family friends in Minneapolis. When I first caught sight of this particular anime, the one scene I would always come back to when Inuyasha turned into a full yokai and annihilated Goshinki with his bare claws, in which Episode 43 was my gateway episode to this show.
In the same year, there was my first encounter with Sesshoumaru one episode on. At first I thought he was evil, but I could not help but be interested in his tall, noble, magnificent screen presence.
Come to the age of thirteen that my appreciation for Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha was blooming at such a fast rate, even to the point where I really loved their brand of sibling rivalry and aggressive brotherhood.
I did not start getting invested in Ayame until I was fourteen years old, but her steely determination was the one trait that made her stand out really well. As I grew, I began to pity Ayame a whole lot more because of the fact that she was just Kouga’s “love interest” and nothing more. Clearly, she had skill, strength, and determination which made her a far more formidable fighter than Sango and Kagome could ever be, as she did not present herself as easily manipulated. Overall, I wanted to see far more of her because of how interesting she was, and, at least, in my eyes, she was really compatible with both Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru in terms of strength, beauty, and resilience.
Together, Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, and Ayame found a greatly special place in my heart. Surprisingly, my admiration for these three canine yokai warriors remained absolutely unchanged and undeniably consistent. The only other characters who came close to joining their high ranks were Kuranosuke Takeda, Toran, Shuran, Hakkaku, Ginta, Ayumi, Karan, Shunran, Kohaku, Shintaro, Asagi, Dai, Roku, Kai, Souta, Shion, Taromaru, Suekichi, Satoru, Kokichi, Hitomi, Rin, Shiori, Moegi, Satsuki, Mizuki, Shinta, Souten, and Ai.
All of the other characters, especially Miroku, Kouga, Hachiemon, Myoga, Kaede, Sango, Kagome, Hakudoushi, Byakuya, and Shippou, did not matter one bit because, at worst, my hatred for Miroku, Kouga, Sango, Kagome, and Kaede really grew with every breath I took and as I came of age, while at best, I just did not care for them too much.
I know I could still care for Kikyou because of all the crap she had to go through in the entire series, but it really did make me appalled to hear that she ended up receiving a lot of hate from hardcore InuKag shippers. This is because I still cannot comprehend why she ended up getting the short end of the stick from fans, as I respected her for being mature, classy, compassionate, kind, and a well-trained archer.
Hiten and Bankotsu may have had unlikable traits, but their head-on attitudes and charisma made them formidable opponents against Inuyasha.
Kagura was really polarizing, as her combat skills as a wind manipulator may be great, but her whole wish to be free while bearing this slave-like mindset as demonstrated in the second movie made her kind of a not so great character and very contradictory. Regardless, her whole arc was pretty tragic, even though she did come off as treacherous at worst and ambiguous at best.
It clearly says something when Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, and Ayame ended up finding a very special place in my heart, and it got to the point where I saw them as a much stronger team and family than how they were presented in canon. Just toss in Dai, Roku, Kai, Rin, Shiori, Kanna, Shinta, and Souten, and they would complete Sesshoumaru’s, Inuyasha’s, and Ayame’s happy family. Moreover, bring in Kohaku, Shintaro, Souta, and Satoru to be Sesshoumaru’s and Inuyasha’s apprentices and to end up as Rin’s, Shiori’s, Kanna’s, and Souten’s husbands and Sayo, Koume, Moegi, and Ai, who are in turn Ginta’s and Shunran’s adoptive children, to be Ayame’s apprentices and Dai’s, Roku’s, Kai’s, and Shinta’s wives. Therefore, Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, and Ayame can have an amazing family to call their own.
In conclusion, Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, and Ayame have proven themselves to be the most amazing characters in terms of their strength, determination, resilience, courage, and overall awesomeness and for how much significance they have played in my life as someone who does enjoy Inuyasha from time to time.
I hope you all enjoyed this and I will see you in the next submission. Take care and stay safe, everybody.
