This image collage is dedicated to all of my Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, and Ayame-loving friends, fellow artists, fans, and brethren. So, sit back, relax, soak in that epic, powerful, and uplifting feeling of Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, and Ayame joining forces to become Feudal Japan’s mightiest trio of warriors, and revel in how well they could work with each other especially when it comes to taking down various villains. Moreover, do prepare yourselves for some Sesshoumaru x Ayame and a lot of Inuyasha x Ayame moments.
Their names are legendary. Their strength is incredible. Their collective combat prowess is phenomenal. Their determination is astounding. Their overall teamwork is like a well-furnished fortress. That, my friends, is just how formidable Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, and Ayame are as fighters who will never, ever back down from battle. From Sesshoumaru’s super stealth to Inuyasha’s super strength to Ayame’s super speed, these combatants show no signs of cowering nor backing out whatsoever thanks to their claws, fists, fangs, and complete athleticism.
My love and fascination for this particular trio also ties in to my AU headcanon of Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, and Ayame knowing each other when they were very, very young children.
As toddlers, 4-year-old Sesshoumaru and 2-year-old Inuyasha were at Ayame’s christening one late summer. This even got to the point where Little Sesshoumaru and Little Inuyasha were playing with Baby Ayame and Sesshoumaru automatically recognized how close Inuyasha and Ayame were becoming, given how they would make faces at each other and laugh incessantly with Sesshoumaru giving a few chuckles at their antics.
Everything came to a head, when Sesshoumaru was 7, Inuyasha was 5, and Ayame was 3 that their bond became a lot stronger. Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha saved Ayame from The Birds of Paradise by using their claws, fists, fangs, and feet to defeat them, thus making Ayame extremely grateful for her heroes and excitedly proclaiming herself to be Inuyasha’s wife and Sesshoumaru’s most beloved sister-in-law. Sesshoumaru even started to be fully supportive of his younger brother’s relationship with his prospective little sister-in-law and displayed a fair amount of lovable playfulness with her. Moreover, Inu-No-Taisho and Izayoi managed to display their full support for Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha not only being Ayame’s protectors, but also for Inuyasha’s budding feelings for Ayame and Sesshoumaru taking great care of them and their flourishing relatioship.
Believing that Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha were old enough to venture on their own, though they were still 8 and 6 years old respectively, they set out for Ayame’s home with the Northern Yoro Tribe and received a warm welcome by Ayame, her grandfather, and all of the tribesmen. As a sign of gratitude, Ayame’s grandfather even made both Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha full-fledge members of the Northern Yoro Tribe praising their strength, determination, and courage for saving his beloved granddaughter. Moreover, Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha proved themselves to be worthy warriors in a huge amount of tests ranging from wrestling, hunting, gathering, hand-to-hand grappling, marathon-running, and various Olympic and Herculean physical activities. Therefore, Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha have proven themselves to be indubitable husband candidates for Ayame with Sesshoumaru stating that his younger brother truly deserved Ayame more than he did, even though he did show fascination in not only Ayame’s beauty but also her directness, determination, support, cunning personality, and fiery independence.
By the time 7-year-old Inuyasha and 5-year-old Ayame got married, 9-year-old Sesshoumaru swore to the both of them that he will always be there to support them and their progeny, thus proving himself to be a loyal guardian not only to them but also to the Northern Yoro tribe, which, in turn, made Ayame’s grandfather, Inu-No-Taisho, and Izayoi very overjoyed of their young children. This promise of togetherness, loyalty, and fortitude the three have forged together continued to remain into effect even in their teenage and adult years.
Their fortitude as a trio was also in full evidence when it came to shielding and rescuing Rin from Kouga and his rogue wolves, thus helping Rin realize that not all wolves or yokai are evil creatures, training Kohaku in various martial arts, helping Souta to become a stronger fighter, and aiding Kanna in realizing that she is not made to use her powers for beneficial healing. Therefore, Kohaku, Souta, Rin, and Kanna have become Sesshoumaru’s, Inuyasha’s, and Ayame’s most loyal apprentices in battle to the point where Sesshoumaru ended up adopting Rin and Kanna to be his own daughters as well as marry Kagura. Moreover, Rin would even proudly state that Inuyasha and Ayame are her most favorite uncle and auntie akin to being second parents.
Even when Sesshoumaru started a family with Kagura and Inuyasha and Ayame had their own well-established family, they still remain as strong as ever in terms of their unparalleled skills as warriors.
When it came to having Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, and Ayame joining forces to make a super formidable trio, a few thoughts came into my mind. Ayame would easily quell the rivalry Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha have for each other. Sesshoumaru would see a whole lot of fire, strength, and determination in Ayame to the point where he would give his fully unadulterated respect for her. Inuyasha would find a great soulmate in Ayame and have one of the healthiest relationship ever. Ergo, there would be no animosity, no uselessness, no contrived love triangles, and, best of all, no Beads of Subjugation and those horrid sit commands, which would come off as abusive. Just these three awesome warriors working together being the strong, well-established family that they are, and a lot of positive vibes from sundown to sunset.
Moreover, having Kohaku, Souta, Rin, and Kanna learn a lot from Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, and Ayame would be a huge plus, as they will not end up being a bunch of tagalong kids, but young warriors who can be just as formidable, tough, and powerful as their mentors.
I hope you all enjoyed this and I will see you in the next submission. Take care and stay safe, everybody.
