This image collage is dedicated to all of my wonderful InuAya-shipping friends, fellow artists, fans, and brethren. So, sit back, relax, and soak in how powerful, strong, mighty, formidable, courageous, and super tight-knit Inuyasha’s and Ayame’s family is.
This should come off as no surprise to anyone that Inuyasha x Ayame is one of my most beloved OTPs of all time to the point where I made an AU headcanon of them starting off as childhood sweethearts when they were children, ended up being married while they were still really young, and started a family of veritable toughies who ended up bringing a lot of honor, fortitude, and might to the Northern Yoro Tribe.
I am fully aware that a sequel for the Inuyasha series is going to come underway most likely within autumn or winter of this year, as far as I am concerned. While I am a bit curious to see how it is going to pan out, I am going to stick to the universe I created for Inuyasha, Ayame, their biological children, and their adopted children Dai, Roku, Kai, and Shinta.
My AU headcanon for Inuyasha and Ayame as a couple would start everything off when Inuyasha was 2 years old and Ayame was already born at the time. Inu no Taisho Toga, Izayoi, 4-year-old Sesshoumaru, and 2-year-old Inuyasha went to Ayame’s christening, as Toga used to train under Ayame’s grandfather in the art of hunting and tracking. Baby Ayame cooed with joy when she first saw Little Inuyasha smiling at her and even laughed when she saw Little Sesshoumaru who just made a stoic face on her. It was at that moment that Toga became very confident that either of his sons will end up marrying Ayame. Sesshoumaru did not completely entertain the thought of marrying Ayame when he came of age, but he could tell that Inuyasha and Ayame already had it made in the shade given how much fun they were having playing with each other a game akin to patty cake and how they were cooing at each other. For a father like Inu no Taisho Toga, this moment between Inuyasha and Ayame meant a great future for the both of them. For an older brother like 4-year-old Sesshoumaru, it just meant utter amusement seeing his 2-year-old younger brother Inuyasha and baby Ayame playing with each other.
Three years have passed, and while 5-year-old Inuyasha was doing target practice with his claws and speed, he was chased by various vicious demons. As a child, he did prove himself to be instinctive by hiding behind a crevice to ensure they did not find him. That was until he heard a little girl’s voice crying in a tree and some ghastly noises made by more demons thanks to his ultra-sharp hearing. Mustering up the courage to not prove himself to be a coward, he went out of the crevice to recognize that 3-year-old Ayame was in that tree with an iris and trying to hide from the Birds of Paradise. Just as the Birds of Paradise were about to attack, Inuyasha obliterated them with his claws, fists, feet, and speed, which astounded Ayame. He even warned the remaining Birds of Paradise that he never wanted to see them again and unleashed a mighty roar, which frightened them. It was a nice moment of reunion when Ayame lept out of the tree to smother Inuyasha with hugs, kisses, and statements of gratitude proclaiming that he was her hero. Ayame even stated that she is going to be his wife when they came of age. This statement made Inuyasha proclaim that he will be the best husband and strongest warrior ever, playfully flexed his biceps for her, and let out a chuckle. Ayame retorted by saying that she knew he would make a great husband. They then proceeded to go back to the Inu no Taisho’s home, as Inuyasha stated that he wants to train to be a strong warrior with Ayame’s tribe in the Northern Mountains. Toga and Izayoi were really astonished by Inuyasha’s firm decision even though he was still a little child, but 7-year-old Sesshoumaru clasped his little brother’s hand and wished him well with his life with Ayame, thus displaying his undying support for Inuyasha and Ayame to be happy together.
Ayame’s grandfather was very blessed to induct Inuyasha to the Northern Yoro Tribe and proclaim him as his grandson-in-law worthy of Ayame’s hand in marriage. In order to prove his worth to Ayame, Inuyasha trained with the Northern Yoro warriors in weightlifting, wrestling, boxing, grappling, hunting, gathering, and tracking. The Northern Yoro warriors were absolutely astounded with Inuyasha’s unparalleled skills as a combatant, hunter, and athlete that they ended up becoming absolutely indebted to give them the respect he really deserved for someone who was still very young. Whether Inuyasha lifted boulders, gave the warriors a good full Nelson or slashed various weapons into smithereens, the Northern Yoro warriors were utterly confident in Inuyasha’s skills as a great warrior and a major asset to the Northern Yoro Tribe.
By the time Inuyasha turned 6 years old, he went through another test to prove his worth as Ayame’s husband, and that was to obtain the legendary Goraishi. He bravely proved himself to the wolf guardian that he could take him down and he overpowered the guardian to obtain the Goraishi, especially when he turned into a full-fledged yokai when he was under peril. In return, the wolf guardian blessed Inuyasha with the wisdom of the wolf tribe ancestors, the strength to protect the tribe from destruction, and honor to uphold the tribe’s good name. As Inuyasha returned with the Goraishi, Ayame embraced and kissed her most beloved hero and her grandfather united the young lovers in marriage and blessed them with all of the powers of the Northern Yoro ancestors.
After their marriage, Inuyasha and Ayame continued their training with the Northern Yoro warriors and became the tribe’s greatest assets in defeating invaders and various other forms of oncoming peril. Outside their battles, they even expressed a want start a family of warriors and prayed to the ancestors for children and a happy family life.
One early winter, their wish came true, as Ayame ended up bearing three sons who had a combination of their father’s and mother’s eye colors. Inuyasha and Ayame were absolutely euphoric to have their first set of children in their well-established family, as they named them Masataka, Masaya, and Motomu.
As the years rolled by, Inuyasha’s and Ayame’s family grew even bigger with Dai, Roku, Kai, and Shinta being adopted in their family and having a total of twelve biological children, thus making Inuyasha and Ayame have a total of sixteen children. On top of that, Sesshoumaru continues to show boundless support for Inuyasha and Ayame for having such a powerful, formidable, and super strong family.
As you can see, I collated images from “Inuyasha”, “Inuyasha: The Final Act”, and, of course, the commission art of my Inuyasha x Ayame children done by the amazing FoodAssassinClive to display them in the ages that they were when Inuyasha first aired on television back on October 26, 2000.
On the first row are Inuyasha when he was 17 years old and in his topless full yokai form because I thought it would be nice to display him as the powerful, fierce, yet occasionally intimidating Alpha Male of this fierce, fit, fearless family, especially when he gets provoked by his enemies a la The Incredible Hulk, but ends up going back to his not so beastly form while maintaining the purple stripes on his cheeks and his most beloved wife Ayame when she was 15 years old looking as fierce and determined as ever who is so blessed to have someone as strong, courageous, and loyal as Inuyasha as her husband, considering the many occasions she has been championing him and every endeavor he has. As parents, Inuyasha is the strong, steadfast, tough, resilient father and Ayame is the supportive, encouraging, determined, motivated mother who ensure that their family remains as sturdy as possible and their children grow well in love, appreciation, responsibility, respect, and compassion.
On the second row are the eldest set of sons. The first eldest sons are Masataka, Masaya, and Motomu when they were 10 years old and they have inherited their father’s purple stripes on their cheeks to show that they are the full yokai among their siblings, the strongest fighters, and the loyal protectors of their family, as they are the muscles of the eldest sons. The second eldest sons are Dai and Roku when they were also 10 years old and they tend to have the most attitude of the children but they are just as tough and fearless. The third eldest son is Kai when he was also 10 years old and he is an amazing combination of strength, speed, athletic prowess, and steadfastness, which are qualities his parents admire the most about him and which tend to make him be the focus of friendly fraternal competition between him, Roku, Dai, Motomu, Masaya, and Masataka.
On the third row are the middle set of sons. The first middle sons are Kenta and Keita when they were 9 years old and they are just as strong as the oldest brothers and love using their muscles, bare hands, claws, fangs, and super strength to get any heavy-duty job done. The second middle sons are Kazuhiko and Kaito when they were 8 years old and they are the peace-loving warriors who are kind, well-meaning, and genuine when you get to know them, but mess with them and their family and they will hold nothing back whatsoever. The third middle son is Shinta when he was 7 years old who is the lovable, cheery ray of sunshine of the family and who always looks up to his older brothers, father, and mother as his role models for life.
On the fourth and final row are the youngest set of daughters. The first youngest daughters are Momoko, Makoto, and Mikoto when they were 7 years old and they are the fierce, athletic, sturdy firebrands of this family who can give any warrior a run for his or her money when coming face-to-face with them. Finally, the youngest daughters are Maya and Minako when they were 6 years old and they are the rambunctious, hyperactive, speedy toughies of the family who enjoy basking in their family’s love, euphoria, support, and joy.
Inuyasha’s and Ayame’s family are very well-known for being the most powerful and most formidable warriors of the Northern Yoro Tribe, given how well they fight as a unit and the acclaim they would obtain from warriors all over the land. Moreover, their family standards are defined by bravery, strength, steadfastness, responsibility, and perseverance, which is reflected in how they prepare themselves for battle complete with their claws, fangs, muscles, and warrior mode unleashed and how they could snap their enemies into two by using their bare hands and super strength.
Their staple diet consists of a great balance of game meat such as wild boar, rabbit, venison, deer, and alligator, which are a great source of protein for muscle growth, fish such as salmon, tuna, and trout, which are necessary for Omega-3 intake, and berries, edible flowers, apples, and seaweed, which are filled with antioxidants. Given what their diet is, they will be guaranteed to be at peak performance level as warriors, athletes, and supernatural beings who enjoy engaging in a lot of physical activity.
Speaking of physical activity, Inuyasha, Ayame, Masataka, Masaya, Motomu, Dai, Roku, Kai, Kenta, Keita, Kazuhiko, Kaito, Shinta, Momoko, Makoto, Mikoto, Maya, and Minako would always partake in wrestling, kickboxing, boxing, grappling, weightlifting, circuit training, marathon-running, swimming, hunting, and gathering. Inuyasha being the Alpha Male muscle of this family would usually endeavor to compete with his favorite sons Masataka, Masaya, Motomu, Dai, Roku, Kai, Kenta, and Keita in wrestling, weightlifting, and strength contests. Ayame being the determined, fierce firebrand that she is would always love to have marathon races, boxing, and kickboxing matches with Kazuhiko, Kaito, Shinta, Momoko, Makoto, Mikoto, Maya, and Minako. Finally, as a family, they would constantly train in kickboxing, boxing, grappling, and wrestling with all of Inuyasha’s and Ayame’s children learning how to dodge punches, perform suplexes, do body slams and flips, and various wrestling and boxing moves.
Because Inuyasha, Ayame, Masataka, Masaya, Motomu, Dai, Roku, Kai, Kenta, Keita, Kazuhiko, Kaito, Shinta, Momoko, Makoto, Mikoto, Maya, and Minako are extremely well-known for their fierceness, they are even very well-known for their thunderingly resounding roars, which can make any lion, leopard, bear, gorilla or jaguar blush with envy or retreat when they roar their guts out. Inuyasha’s and Ayame’s family would apply their roars to frighten their enemies or as a sign of their victory.
In conclusion, Inuyasha and Ayame have certainly cultivated a family of veritably powerful warriors. If one were to be so brazen to mess with them, one would immediately be in a state of intimidation and would have to run for the hills to not have his bones broken by either Inuyasha, Ayame or all of their children.
I hope you all enjoyed this and I will see you in the next submission. Take care and stay safe, everybody.
