We take ourselves back to March 18, 1998, which was four months before Butch turned 8 years old and six months before Bubbles turned 6 years old, when he finally got the gall to confess his love to his one and only.
Children who knew Butch in the second grade were automatically aware of how super strong, super tough, and brutal he could be, especially when he had several moments where he and his teammates consisting of Brick the leader, Boomer the funny athlete, Blossom the brainy beauty, Buttercup the toughest fighter, and, of course, Bubbles the pacifist ended up getting themselves into battles with various monsters and villains with Butch the muscle delivering the ultimately fatal blow thanks to his fists of fury and Herculean strength. Ergo, Butch’s reputation for being the strong, tough, impulsive young man was enough for classmates to never mess with him or else casualties would arise.
In stark contrast to Butch’s hard shell was Bubbles and her brand of charisma, even back in her Kindergarten days. In Pokey Oaks Kindergarten, Bubbles was always that one person who kept the positive, joyous vibe in her class alive and kicking, in spite of the cattiness she ended up receiving by courtesy of Princess Morbucks and Julie Smith. She has always been that one person to look beyond the flaws and meanness of people and just greet them all with a smile. Henceforth, she has become Pokey Oaks Kindergarten’s most endearing young students.
On that fateful day of March 18, Bubbles received a note from her secret admirer, which ended with a red rose. She initially thought it was from Brick, but he said to her that the handwriting was not his. She then thought it was Boomer because of how she used to call him cute, but even he said that it was not his handwriting. So, Bubbles thought it would be nice to head to a place where she least expected to be in, the woods that were near Pokey Oaks Kindergarten. Just as she thought she was alone, she saw Butch doing his usual routine of meditation and picking up flowers, which she did not expect in the slightest iota. In spite of his reputation of being brutish, Butch was pretty sharp on his senses when he felt he was being interrupted by an unknown force. Lo and behold, it was none other than Bubbles, as encountering her made him blush like the reddest of tomatoes.
Bubbles managed to put two and two together and found out that Butch was the one who wrote that note with the red rose. Feeling his cover was being blown, Butch did the unthinkable, at least to his standards back when he was a little boy, and gave Bubbles her favorite sky-blue flowers. Even as he was extending his arm, he was still blushing, which made Bubbles charmed, and she found it quite hilarious seeing a strong, tough boy like Butch have his face be as red as any tomato or rose. Nevertheless, Bubbles was really touched by his gesture, accepted the flowers, and gave Butch a peck on the cheek stating that she also loves him so much but she could not also tell him that. Butch was sure Bubbles would tell his classmates about his little secret regarding his sensitive side, but she assured him that he does not have to be shy about his feelings and that his secret was safe with her for the time being. In the end, Butch and Bubbles managed to find some happiness together when they were still young children.
I hope you all enjoyed this piece of Butchubbles fan art, and I will see you in the next submission. Take care, everybody.
