This screenshot motivational poster is dedicated to all of my Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha x Ayame friends, fans, fellow artists, and brethren. Ergo, this is a pro-InuAya motivational poster with Sesshoumaru being rather involved with this particular power couple. So, sit back, relax, and soak in that InuAya greatness as well as Sesshoumaru’s might.
This is also one of my contributions for this year’s Red Ribbon Reviewers month of 2019 as well as one of my annual Inuvember submission which occurred last month.
A lot of my thoughts are mostly AU and headcanon-based because this is what popped into my head when I realized just how much of a strong bond all three of these characters would have with each other from Sesshoumaru’s and Inuyasha’s brand of aggressive fraternal love to Sesshoumaru’s and Ayame’s firm friendship to Inuyasha’s and Ayame’s genuine, undying, and unconditional love for each other.
I could see Sesshoumaru being very supportive of Inuyasha’s and Ayame’s long-lasting, healthy, and awesome relationship because he always knew fully well that his little brother can do so much better than having any mortal girl by his side, and he did seem rather fascinated with how independent, strong, tough, resilient, agile, and cunning Ayame was when they were a lot younger. Sufficed to say, Sesshoumaru has always been pretty much an InuAya shipper, even though it did take time for him to admit it to the both of them but he was proud of both Inuyasha and Ayame for making the right choice to be with each other through thick and thin.
It all started when Sesshoumaru was five years old and Inuyasha was three years old, and they went to Ayame’s christening at the Northern Yoro Tribe. When little Ayame cooed at the two brothers, Sesshoumaru gave a cold glare at her which nevertheless made her laugh and Inuyasha blushed, as his face was red as a tomato which also made Sesshoumaru chuckle at his younger brother and Ayame laugh incessantly. With that sign, Inu no Taisho, Izayoi, and Ayame’s grandfather knew that Inuyasha and Ayame were meant to be for each other which also made Sesshoumaru rather intrigued with the thought of Ayame growing up to be a formidable fighter and a nice sister-in-law for him.
Everything came to a head when Inuyasha was seven years old and Ayame was four years old, as they met again in the forest where Inuyasha was about to be ambushed by demons and Ayame was about to be ambushed by the Birds of Paradise. Tired of being chased and pushed around, Inuyasha plucked up the courage to give the Birds of Paradise a great beating using his claws, fists, feet, and super strength to tackle each and every one of them. Ayame was enthralled to see Inuyasha rescue her to the point where they spent some time together in the woods. Just as they were about to go home, seven-year-old Inuyasha proudly proclaimed to Ayame that he will be the strong, proud, tall warrior for her and playfully flexed his biceps to prove that to her and gave her a huge grin, which also made Ayame laugh with glee. They parted ways for now but they would eventually be reunited.
To make this whole situation between him and Ayame better, Inuyasha even told his father, mother, and Sesshoumaru that he was going to Ayame’s tribe to train, be a lot stronger, and be Ayame’s husband. Inu no Taisho could not have been any prouder of Inuyasha. Izayoi was rather intrigued. Nine-year-old Sesshoumaru, who was also betrothed to Kagura in accordance to his father’s wishes, found the whole development between Inuyasha and Ayame rather interesting to the point where he stated that he was going to visit them not only to see how they were faring but also to do his part and train both of them to be a lot stronger and more formidable.
Inuyasha then found himself being inducted into the Northern Yoro Tribe which made Ayame really happy to see her future husband train with the wolf warriors and her grandfather absolutely euphoric to see such light, enthusiasm, and passion in this young dog hanyou. Inuyasha learned how to hunt, wrestle, box, roar, growl, howl, and fight like a wolf, thus making the wolf warriors and Ayame’s grandfather astounded at his strength, endurance, and cunning and surpassing their expectations with flying colors. Ayame could not have chosen a better ideal than Inuyasha because of how much he was able to risk his life to protect her from all harm, especially when a huge bear demon terrorized her village and young Inuyasha subdued it by roaring at it, using his sharp claws, and wrestling it to the ground.
Ayame’s village rejoiced at their new protector. To make things better, Sesshoumaru even entered the scene to congratulate Inuyasha for not only choosing Ayame to be his mate but also for becoming the strong warrior he was intended to be. Sesshoumaru even showed his appreciation for Ayame for being fair, compassionate, understanding, and supportive of Inuyasha in all of his endeavors. In order to see just how formidable Inuyasha and Ayame became as a couple, Sesshoumaru issued a challenged between him and the couple which involved taking him down with their bare hands, as they also gladly obliged.
Come their challenge, and snarls, growls, and roars filled the air with Sesshoumaru delivering a barrage of punches, kicks, and clinches to both Inuyasha and Ayame. Inuyasha managed to counter Sesshoumaru’s attacks with a few hooks, uppercuts, roundhouse kicks, and even a bite to Sesshoumaru’s shoulder. While Ayame also gave Sesshoumaru a barrage of punches, kicks, and a huge flip which made him thud harshly to the ground. For the grand finale, Inuyasha and Ayame gave Sesshoumaru a huge shoulder check and a double punch to the eye with the both of them on top of him growling like the wild power couple that they were. Sesshoumaru remarked how proud he was of Inuyasha and Ayame for being able to tackle him like that, and gave them his everlasting blessing and support.
By the time Sesshoumaru was 14, Inuyasha was 12, and Ayame was 9, they ended up pleasantly surprising each other of their prospective marriages. Sesshoumaru was even engaged to 12-year-old Kagura, as she could not wait to marry him. After 15-year-old Sesshoumaru and 13-year-old Kagura ended up tying the knot, adopted 4-year-old Rin and 3-year-old Kanna to be their daughters, and had their first triplet sons, they went out of their way to attend 13-year-old Inuyasha’s and 10-year-old Ayame’s wedding and eventual christening of their first triplet sons alongside Inuyasha’s and Ayame’s adopted sons 6-year-old twins Dai and Roku. In turn, Inuyasha and Ayame became the godparents of Rin, Kanna, Motoharu, Mitsuhige, and Matsuhige, while Sesshoumaru and Kagura became the godparents of Dai, Roku, Masataka, Masaya, and Motomu. On top of that, Sesshoumaru gave great advice to both Inuyasha and Ayame that they should be there for each other and stay faithful to each other in everything that they do. Therefore, they can ensure that their family life remains everlastingly lengthy.
To this day, Sesshoumaru continues to be very proud and supportive of Inuyasha and Ayame for their strong, long-standing, healthy relationship even to the point where their eldest biological sons displayed a lot of elements reminiscent of how Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha used to behave towards each other when they were young children with Motoharu and Masataka getting themselves into wrestling matches, Mitsuhige and Masaya engaging in boxing matches, and Matsuhige and Motomu enjoying each and every jujitsu, judo, and karate match they get themselves into. Nevertheless, they manage to do one thing better than Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha, and that is be the best of friends through thick and thin. If that is not enough, even the patterns their children have ended up being passed down to their grandchildren which makes things all the more fun.
I hope you all enjoyed this look into Sesshoumaru’s involvement with Inuyasha and Ayame as a couple, and I will see you in the next submission. Take care, everybody, and Happy Advent.
